@@cynergy7985I 100% agree. I stopped arguing with people a while ago. I’ll happily explain my perspective once but I will not argue. When asked why I won’t continue to debate I simply let them know that it’s their right to be wrong and it isn’t my job to correct them. Saying “I’m comfortable with your incorrectness,” seems to really piss people off. So I reserve it for people I want to annoy 😂

It's not people's misfortune that's entertaining to me. It's their belief that they have a better chance of winning their case by defending themselves instead of through the help of someone who goes to school for a decade to learn the law. Now that's entertainment! I don't think anyone going to jail or paying fines is funny. With that said, in almost every case, it's clear that people create their own problems by failing to follow probation, pay fines, or ignore the no alcohol conditions.

They ( most) of the clerks will tell you that if still haven't received you permanent tag and the temp is going to expire...get another temp, and see if there is any additional information on when the permanent one might arrive. When working as a jailer, we always enjoyed those arrestees that demanded being able to see the judge at butt dark thirty because they didn't like their scheduled bond. Every time we called the district judge and explained why we were calling, the scheduled bond got an extra zero added on to it. Every time we had to call the magistrate we had to place the suspect on speaker phone who asked them why they thought they were exempt from the bond schedule. They magistrate would then tell them that their bond hearing was 0900 and they were being held without bond until the hearing since they were unsatisfied with the scheduled bonds.

Yes, I've seen her do this many times. She's not kidding when she says she respects someone who exercises his rights. I saw her spend a ton of time picking apart a confusing stop sign law where someone was challenging the ticket; and she was in the middle of ruling against the driver, but as she explained her decision, the cop clarified something, and she went right back and picked it apart all over again in light of that clarification and ended up dismissing the ticket. She really believes in following the law and isn't dismissive of regular folks who come to plead their cases. That's the kind of judge I would want if I had a case.

I mean, it does sound ridiculous. however in instances where a person is losing freedom and liberty by way of police holding I can almost see grounds to disagree. The position of a judge is that of public service, and much like how a physician is available, I think in certain instances there could be an on-call schedule. The concept of restricting a citizens basic freedoms should not be taken so lightly. Put differently, a person picked up on Friday afternoon should not lose two days of freedom without being offered every convenience by the state, if in fact they are presumed innocent. This is not the world we live in, and certainly not reality. But when you think about it, we are presumed innocent, and it is the states duty to prove guilty 100% with no doubt. Is it “just” to be holding (presumed) innocent persons in custody for days? Again, not realistic, but it’s interesting ti think about.

She seems to fluctuate between two neighboring counties (Greenwood and Butler), which I don’t understand, but she’s brilliant and can really rock a pair of cat-eye glasses! I keep hoping I’ll know someone in her court, but clearly I’m running with the wrong crowd.
As an aside, I think Debbie commented on an older video about the town El Dorado - here it’s pronounced like it rhymes with potato not potahto 😏. In Wichita we have a street named Greenwich. Not pronounced like it would be in New York, but like Green-wich. I love this town! OK one more for you; the Arkansas river - not pronounced Arkansaw like the state because we pronounce it right - Ar-Kansas. I truly love this place❤❤

Jill Gillett seems to be the kind of person, most women should inspire to be. 🌹 Mind you, I don't know her personally, but the woman I see in the "courtroom" is truly a professional, respectful, and patient! 👍Great job Ms. Gillett! 😊

I love Gillett's expressions. She is having fun watching this guy and his claims. She keeps smiling and smiling. I suspect a couple of times she almost broke out in laughter.

The amount of (justified) disrespect Jill is throwing out is amazing. Laughing and smiling at his arguments, filing her nails, then near the end biting her lip to keep from laughing.
Saying SHE doesn't know the law is indeed laughable.

14:16 and THIS is why you need to shut your mouth during a pretrial and prelim hearing. As soon as you admit you were there, you’ve now eliminated the possible defense of “I wasn’t there”. Each time you say something, you’re admitting to something and eliminating a possible defense

That Court Attorney could literally be sewing a kid's school show outfit, doing her taxes, making a shopping list, planning a holiday or just filing her month's case notes & STILL destroy him. Judge Webster just sips her beverage like "Atta girl!" Laughed so hard watching this!

They need to stop treating pro se with kid gloves. It was a huge waste of DA resources to address his "complaints." When he asked all the questions at the end the answer is "those are legal questions you need to know the answers to. I, as a judge, cannot answer them. GET A LAWYER."
