    So basically use a root chest on the big spikey roller mob... as well as anything else in the game pretty much.
    Carry a ton of fire resist.
    Expect lots of mobs.

    It would be interesting to see how root vest does against accidentally getting hit by one of those fire blobs. I know they give plenty of warning before exploding, but if you're running from mobs from every direction, you might end up getting fire goo on you. Guess the play is to just pop a fire resist potion right when landing, just in case.

    Fenris armor is pretty good for scouting and exploring the ashlands. You out run everything, especially if u make the new Ashvin Cape. I'll try out the Root Chest but since magic is helpful I just run Carapace Helm (switched to Flametal Helm) with 2 pieces of mage armor and it works out fine when I have fight or clear a fortress.

    • @t0ssacoin408
      @t0ssacoin408  4 месяца назад

      That is currently the problem. I don't think the root chest is overpowered, I just think that all of the following options have been underwhelming.
      It would make sense that full carapace should be your best option to enter the Ashlands, but that just isn't the case due to no other armor piece being nearly as useful as halving the damage of a common damage type.

    ughh, root harnesk is such poorly designed item. It is completely breaking the progression it's so OP. A tier 3 light armor item should not be your best defensive choice in biome 7. that's rediculous. They should change it so that you only get pierce resist when you're wearing all three root pieces.

    • @t0ssacoin408
      @t0ssacoin408  4 месяца назад

      I just wish they would add more armor bonuses or better ones atleast. Variety in choice is fun. Remove the root chest, and we still lack diversity in choice. It is just whatever has the highest armor value.
      Easy nerf to root is to just remove some pierce damage from the ashlands, but I'd rather they just add cool bonuses to other armors.

    how much more damage is reduced if you wear carapace legs instead of fenris? If you're popping barely wines, the resistance to fire isnt needed on fenris, main thing is you arent slowed down as much but considering voltures actually do a good amount of slash damage, and theyre in groups, that would probably be this mixed sets main issue.

    • @t0ssacoin408
      @t0ssacoin408  4 месяца назад

      The Fenris legs are only for the movement speed. You need the full set for the fire resist buff.
      The damage resistance of carapace legs is in my opinion not worth the tradeoff of the extra speed due to armor giving diminishing returns the higher it gets.
      I belive my "Is Fenris Armor Op" video shows the damage difference, and the speed difference.

  • @Dantprime

    When i saw they went with the blandest of the three ashmage armor concepts that really sealed the deal for coming back to my root chest. Tho I might swap out for mage gear for some hocus focus.
    Low-key I don't actually mind taking it through the biomes. I got my root from the swamp, my frostner from the mountains, my cloak from the mistlands, and my wine from the plains. To me it's more like taking my achievements in the previous biomes with me.

    My only complaint is that you didn't try to parry, use any blessings, dodge or even block. Good job on showcasing the armor resistances but it does not take into account many of the things that will actually kill you in the ashlands... its not just the enemies. Otherwise it's a good video on the basis of noobs not knowing the combat but at this point you should be much better at combat unless you are just coming back...

    • @t0ssacoin408
      @t0ssacoin408  4 месяца назад +2

      I get it, I just focused on the armor resistances because your armor should always be your last defense, and I wanted to show what would protect you best. Good food and a Good shield will do most of the work.

      Valkyrie seemed to have Pierce damage. Root chest surprisingly was better than carapace. Just take your resistance meads. The askvin's damage is not reduced by the root chest, so you do take a little bit extra damage than the carapace. Hopefully that helps. I'll make sure to include more enemies in my next video.
