The warranty is NOT ten years (especially if it fails twice within the ten years. They will replace it once after a few months, but my new boat cover failed within 2 years (Feb 2021-Jan 2023) after being replaced and they stated ... " Seal Skin Covers warrants that it will repair or replace, ONCE, any product which under normal conditions or use and service..." So, their webpage says ten year or lifetime warranty, but if it fails 2 times, they mean to say, "Tough, figure it out on your own?"
Thanks for the video. I recently puchased a boat cover and watched the Sealskin video on how to install. I thought the SealSkin video was pretty poorly done as it doesn't show much in the technique you want for holding the cover down. Tried their 800 number but it goes to a call center that really can't help other than pointing you to the incomplete video they provide. I appreciate your thoughts on the cover tie downs. In reading comments here, it is clear I wasn't the only one trying to find the best way to held down the cover. If anyone from Sealskin is following this I suggest you create a more complete video.
Glad you found the video informative 👍... The other thing they don't tell you. It's going to stretch about 30%.. I spent all of last winter adjusting the cover as it stretched. It did hold up well. Just finished putting it on today. Only 5 more months now until the season starts again 🥺
Thanks for the review. Double clips may be so you can route the strap down and around the trailer (then back up) instead of under the boat. This is how I've always strapped mine. Faster method if you're taking it on/off often.
Thanks, I guess that works better on smaller boats. Not enough to make that trip on the bigger cruisers. even more so, that I had to build frame work on the forward deck to lift the cover up so snow and water doesn't pool.
Hi, and thank you for doing this review. I've had 2 boat covers, and they both fail (the sun dry them up and they simply ripped appart) within a year of being on the boat. How has this cover held up for you? I noticed the video is about a year old. I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Again, thank you
Just finished the second winter with it. Its holding up nicely. Had to built a good frame under it this year, as it does stretch so water will pool in any low spots. Snow doesn't slide off, even nearly vertical areas the snow will stick to so I'm out after every snow fall knocking the snow off.
@AdventuresonTour 👍👍 Nice!!! a good thing to know. I live in the South and... snow is not a big problem here, is the sun that cocks them and destroys them. I need one to last under the Louisiana sun. I have a 31 Fountain Sportfish Cruiser, and trust me... I know about water pooling
The quick locks clips for the straps aren't the best. And it does stretch alot, next year I'll need to built a better structure underneath to support it. But in the highs winds of our winter and nearly 4 feet of snow this year. I'm really happy with it. Thanks for watching the video.
@@AdventuresonTour Just got mine for a 30’ Bayliner 2655 Ciera. Wondering how the cover holds up in the marina…without straps? Like yours, mine will not cover over the swim platform - hoping the sun and stretch will remedy that. Little nervous about the storms and wind in the marina when I’m not readily available to check on her. What do type of cover do you use while she’s in the water?
@@corychilcote4422 I was able to get it over the swim platform after a few days. There is a lot of stretch to it once unpacked. Without straps, it might be ok, as it does have the draw string rope around the lower seam.
I like the cover they sent for my jet skis but as they wouldn't make it right or refund my money. I had to take it new to a upholstery repair at my cost. They have an F ratings with the BBC. Buyer be warned.
I let Sealskin choose the boat cover I needed for my Arima. It did not fit. It wasn't even close. I returned it with pictures and they sent another one that DID NOT FIT. I am returning the second one and they are charging me 18% fee for their "inconvenience". Make sure they send you a cover that actually fits your boat
These covers fit many boats. No custom. Imported. Staps are supposed to go over to other side to hold down in wind. The way the cover was lifting when your inside makes me whant to se a video in a year and two. Good luck.
Seal Skin covers -I'm on my second now. They suck. You will have water under the cover shortly after purchase. I have to put a tarp underneath. I think the positive reviews are from folks with no rain.
I've build a support to go under the cover to try and hold it as tight as possible. Water runs off great, but wet snow still builds up and need to be cleared by hand.
They are the absolute worst. Went through two of their covers, neither was even close to fitting. Asked for a refund and they disappeared with my money. Had to dispute the charge to get it back.

Yes sadly, I'm looking at having to shrink wrap this year. As after 2 years the cover really isn't worth trying to get a 3rd winter out of it. It was far from water proof, and it seems to be a magnet for snow. It even sticks to the vertical surfaces, so having to go outside after every snow storm to shovel snow off the boat isn't any fun. It might be ok for smaller boats in a better climate, but defiantly not something for a 30 footer in a Canadian winter. Thanks for the view
LOL glad you enjoyed the video. YT use to show how many dislikes a video got. So a double thumbs down would log the activity in to YT's magic algorithm but the second click removed the dislike from the counter.. 🤣🤣
I still haven't seen anyone attach the straps, wtf do u secure them to? Lol no instructions included but cover does say "front" and "back" for idiots like myself...$300 system I regret immensely!!!

Mine came with clips that you feed the nylon strap through and than clip to 8 or 9 points along the bottom edge. There is a few extra straps to go up and over the top and pull it down over the upper deck. However that doesn't work with a larger boat that has a bow rail...
2 Year update video has been posted

Thanks for the update!
Upper clips are for the straps to go over the top for trailering. Should have been enough straps to go over and under. Mine did.

Catching it trying to install mine on a center console with t top right now and the wind isn't helping at all. Thanks for the video
The supports from sealskin covers use straps for centerization to remove sagging of water retention
The double clip and excessive length on the straps are for running across the top of the boat under the sewn in loops

Thought about using a leaf blower?

@josiahupton9723 yes, really not a rain and snow rated cover. Thinking I'm going to srinkwrap this winter.

What happens when you get a foot of snow on the cover with no support? If looks like a pile of crap.

Do not waste your time readung the comments the original poster said it lasted 2 years then no good.
These are absolute garbage. I had to put a $25 tarp over my boat to keep it from leaking. Not waterproof in the least.
I like the click the dumbs down twice Lmao Imma use that
I have to admit, I stole it from another channel. 🤷♂️🤣🤣
