    The scarf collar that is not attached is genius! I have several sweatshirts I have made (and have leftover cloth) and making a scarf collar that matches them will make the Minnesota winters so much more bearable and fashionable. Thanks for the idea.

    Alisa...this is just too cute. You really hit it out of the ball park!!
    I live in a cold climate and your scarf idea is fantastic. I keep losing my fluffy scarf...this idea eliminates that and will keep me cozy warm when the wind blows while I shovel that 'white stuff'.

    This is really cool! I've got a beautiful old CHAPS Classics sweater pullover Dolman style that I got at Kohls (probably a decade ago) that has beautiful lines of metallic stitched embroidery going from sleeve cuff to sleeve continuing all across the top's front and back, just beautiful, but I've lost weight over the years (eating the appropriate calorie content daily works for me), and so the top is too big now, but I hate to give it away. I've made many things from your instructional videos, and this will be one more that I adore, I'm sure! Many blessings to you and your family here and abroad in this season of giving and may it last through the year for us all! (I'm a quilter but love to sew anything not nailed down! ha!) Julia

    It never occurred to me to put a turtle neck on a vest. This is brilliant. My neck gets cold, so I have several cowls and a dickie that I crocheted. I have some sweater knit that would be perfect for this, sewing is much faster than crocheting after all.

      Thank you! Here, were we live it is often cold and hot in the same day, so this helps regulate the heat and "undress" the neck if it gets too hot. Here's that Members Extra episode for the Scarf with Mittens - ruclips.net/video/nHOvvsteqGg/видео.html

    Speaking of Winter. Can you provide us with a pattern and instructions on how to cut and sew "foot booties" onto pajama pants for adults? Not sure what they're called, it's usually seen on children's wear. The bootie covers the feet and part of the PJ pants to keep the feet toasty. Love your channel. You are so detailed! Thank you!

    Alisa, the editing on this was so fun! Your transitions were smooth and a bit different than past videos! I’m sure it takes more time when edit in but that was pretty cool! Such a nice touch! As for the garment, amazing!!! My daughter is 6 and has been asking for a turtleneck for months! But she has some sensory issues so making this with a detachable neck, is absolutely astounding!!! Thank you so much!! ❤❤❤❤❤

    Hi Alisa
    Just wondering what settings you used for your serger on this project and the sweater from the last project..sorry if this question has been asked before but I could not find this information. Also congratulations 🇺🇸

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  7 месяцев назад +3

      Hello there, no worries at all :) for the sweater for my husband in the gift series - I just used regular serger settings - 4 on all tension discs, regular width, length and dif feed. For sherpa, like this fabric, and anything fluffy I find that increasing stitch width really helps, but other than that - all regular settings. Try on a scrap piece and see how your serger handles it, and from there you will be able to see which settings to adjust.

    Oh Alisa, that’s adorable. I have to make one for each of the grandkids!
    May I please make a request?
    I suffer with a neurological condition which makes I painful to watch videos where the speaker waves their hands around quickly in front of their face. This doesn’t happen in real life, but a camera isn’t as clever as the human eye, and I get flickering because the camera has focussed on your face; this is what I’m watching, but then your hands moving fast between the face and the camera shows up as slightly out of focus. It causes dizziness and if I watch too much, it can bring on epileptic seizure type symptoms. It’s not serious or life threatening, but does give headache. I get the same with cooking videos too, where people wave their hands while they are speaking.
    I cover the bottom part of the screen when people do this, but I hate to miss anything you do - you are my very favourite RUclips creator and you’ve taught me so much. I have several jersey cardigans made recently, using your way of drafting patterns. I’m so grateful to learn from a young person and add to my decades of sewing 😊
    If you’re able to speak without moving hands in front of your face, I’d be so happy, but I will still watch every video you put out and bless you for all the hard work that goes into these videos. ❤❤❤
