Fabulous video! And the depth of the cowl neck top you made is just right: stylish, and not too deep.

Hi Alisa, I started to sew a cowl neck (waterfall neck) top for the holidays in december, based on a paid pattern. The front bodice seemed so complicated that I never would have imagined that it would be possible to draft it myself. But once again you delivered an amazing tutorial, translating complex looking drafting into something achievable. I'll add this to my drafting to do list, I have to try this out. Thank you!

Gabriella, oh yes, I remember! I ma so glad that this is useful and gave you another perspective on it, the Members Extra video on this topic is even more in-depth and makes it super easy for both - knits and woven fabric.

I have one tiny comment: you speak so quickly that in the beginning it sounds like you say "Awful Creativity" instead of "Thoughtful" creativity. LOL

@@ThoughtfulCreativity you truly are thoughtful - thank you so much, Alisa! Btw today I started another a-line woven skirt from your tutorial. Slightly altered now that I skilled up, it's such a great base for a hassle free skirt :)

@@vivenna so great to hear! You are right, they are so hassle free, oh, and keep that pattern draft for the A line skirt - you will be able to use it as the base for the upcoming wrap skirt tutorial, that blue with flowers that is shared with Members a few days ago. Oh oh... Speaking of aline skirts - you can also draft one using a circle skirt method, usually it is 1/4 or 1/8 of a circle. So many possibilities, he he :)

You made a beautiful neckline on your tester; and, that neckline should look beautiful on you. My left shoulder is one inch lower and one inch shorter than my right shoulder. V necks don't work for me. Square necks and high necklines usually work. However, I have never tried a COWL neck; because, I think it will pull to the left (my shorter/lower side) and drop off my left shoulder (as all V necks do). A shoulder pad (worn on the left side only) helps; but, I hate wearing them. Thank you for this educational video.

How do you determine the depth of the cowl neckline❓For example if we want to raise the drape by 1.5 inches or lower it by 1.5 inches, exactly where would that alteration be made❓

Mary-Ann, hello there and welcome! It is called "medical paper" and I get it on Amazon, I have a link for it under most of my vids, just not underneath this particular Knit Bodice Block series :) one roll is good for me for about 6-10 months and I do a TON of pattern drafting.

Hello Alisa, Your skill and explanations are exceptional. I joined your membership group because I wanted to help support your continued videos. I also want printed instructions. Hello there, Dolores! First of all - thank You so much for joining and letting me be a [art of your sewing journey! I truly appreciate that! For the Instructions sheets - those are on google drive, you can find the link on the Membership tab on my channel when you click on "see perks". Then when Google drive opens up - click on the "Instruction sheets" folder and you will see "knit bodice block" PDF there. You can sort all pdf file in ABC order and that will make it easier. If you're still not sure how and where to find google drive, just watch this video till the very end (very important to watch it till the end) - ruclips.net/video/uP9qSamkVkk/видео.html let me know if you need more help :)

Hi 👋 What if I want a deeper cowl (lower cleavage)? Do I lower the bodice block neckline before the step of cutting and spreading apart? I don’t want a lot of volume, just a little lower.
