    Being a beginner, I started with the basics and simplicity - a pair of pj's. Following your amazing videos, I have now sewn two pair of pants and 4 tops to match - and used this color blocking video to customize the last 2 pieces. I continue to learn so much from you. You mention many things that perhaps seem basic to most, but for those of us just learning, are like treasures! I sometimes need instruction pounded into my head for it to stick, but you are always so clear I find myself remember your commentary, sometimes verbatim! Thank you.

      I think the colors make it pop, although it is a simple top, and of course you can add sleeves and other bells and whistles ;)

    The fabric gaps for darts blew my mind! I’ll try to remember that for bulky fabrics in general. I also love color block designs - they’ve been some of the projects I enjoyed the most as it’s so fun to combine colors and shapes! And yours are especially lovely! :)

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  2 года назад +1

      Exactly, and AND - you can make some really bold and unique business wear this way as well - color blocking is always that good middle between introducing design and colors into "traditional" work wear. I am so glad you enjoyed it :)

    Wonderful! I recently watched the most recent season of Ms. Fisher's Modern Murder Mystery, set in 1964 Melbourne, Australia. She wears such beautiful color blocked dresses and tops and I was wondering how to get clean finished edges for all the different seams! This tutorial came at the perfect time for me. Thank you!

    I live in Northwest Tennessee about two hours north of Memphis. It is getting very humid here. I love this top. I love how you just make a simple pattern that a beginner can follow. I have a little long body and it seems that it will be easy to adjust the pattern. I might have missed it but do you have a tutorial on making a pattern/blouse or summer pull over dress with a V neck(not a deep one)? My biggest issue is knowing what fabric to use. Since I am in a humid state I like wearing light, flowy fabric.
