Being a beginner, I started with the basics and simplicity - a pair of pj's. Following your amazing videos, I have now sewn two pair of pants and 4 tops to match - and used this color blocking video to customize the last 2 pieces. I continue to learn so much from you. You mention many things that perhaps seem basic to most, but for those of us just learning, are like treasures! I sometimes need instruction pounded into my head for it to stick, but you are always so clear I find myself remember your commentary, sometimes verbatim! Thank you.
As always, Love your outstanding videos ~ and am also wanting to let you know that I hope the world is treating you well (and not holding anything going on in the outside world against you ~ of course, none of it is your fault)
This is a great video, these garments that you made are just perfect. I am so scared to try to do this, but I know that will take the plunge and just do it because I have so many ideas for it in my head.
Annie, you make so many things for yourself and your whole family - don't be scared at all! As you said - just take a plunge, it is quite fun and easy too, once it comes together it will be like a second nature :)
I am very happy to find you. Your enthusiasm, passion, charisma ,beauty and skill won my heart. when I was little girl I desired for an elder sister like you. now, I am a big woman and content to be where God has put me. May God be with you. Sometimes happy souls bring tears in your eyes and gratitude in your heart. Even if your are a stranger I express thanks to God for making me see and letting me find you on You tube
Awesome :) yaya! oh, I am just uploading the Members Extra for this topic - 9 more ideas how to do color blocking with darts! Definitely check it out, and Instructions sheets will be up in about 30 minutes! :)
The fabric gaps for darts blew my mind! I’ll try to remember that for bulky fabrics in general. I also love color block designs - they’ve been some of the projects I enjoyed the most as it’s so fun to combine colors and shapes! And yours are especially lovely! :)
Exactly, and AND - you can make some really bold and unique business wear this way as well - color blocking is always that good middle between introducing design and colors into "traditional" work wear. I am so glad you enjoyed it :)
Wonderful! I recently watched the most recent season of Ms. Fisher's Modern Murder Mystery, set in 1964 Melbourne, Australia. She wears such beautiful color blocked dresses and tops and I was wondering how to get clean finished edges for all the different seams! This tutorial came at the perfect time for me. Thank you!
Oooh, yes! I love colorblocked designs of that time! I am so happy that it is useful and there is also a very detailed tutorial on the channel about seam finishes, hem finished and neckline/armhole finishes + there are reference sheets on google drive for Members. Take a look :)
This would be an excellent garment to use understitching on at the neckline and arm holes. It would create an even smoother, sleeker look. I can't wait to try this. Thank you!
I live in Northwest Tennessee about two hours north of Memphis. It is getting very humid here. I love this top. I love how you just make a simple pattern that a beginner can follow. I have a little long body and it seems that it will be easy to adjust the pattern. I might have missed it but do you have a tutorial on making a pattern/blouse or summer pull over dress with a V neck(not a deep one)? My biggest issue is knowing what fabric to use. Since I am in a humid state I like wearing light, flowy fabric.
I just love your videos you are so inspirational. Would love to make a peasant style blouse with full three quarter sleeves so would love it if you did this 😍 x
Valerie, hi! All videos that you need to create your blouse are already on the channel - 1) short sleeve peasant blouse - use it to understand the principle 2) raglan blouse - use it to draft the longer sleeve 3) sleeve style tutorial - use it to create a full sleeve. Everything is already there - so have fun :)
Jo, hello there! It is on my to do list for the knot bodice block series, but with a big question mark next to it, I will see if I can find a way how to explain it in the best/easiest way :)
Thanks a lot for your selfless love in sharing all these tutorials.🙏 I've learned quite a lot from your tutorials.😘 Please, what's the paper you're using in drafting here? I live in Nigeria and pattern papers are quite expensive here.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity oh my dear, by Gods grace she’s well. I have to trust the Lord to touch her, my hair is falling out over the stress. I have my spinal issues, I have my mom to care for after her stroke. All I can do is love her, speak less & pray more. Thxs for asking, hope you & family are well❤️🙏🏽
@@MadeByTriniLena Keeping all of this and you in my thoughts! Teens can be difficult, but they are also going through their own difficult time. It does not make it easier, but I am sure it will all calm down! I hope your mom is doing better!
This is a great pattern for people like me who can't tolerate wearing a bra (or stickers), but would still like their nips to be covered. Just double layer the top parts! Make sure the raw edges are between the layers for extra comfort.
Marisa, hello there - take a look at this video - plenty of ideas here for simple projects to get you started with your fabric :) ruclips.net/video/qr6gXhevWw8/видео.html

Omg!! I absolutely love this! You just inspired me to make the perfect pieces with some scraps that have been lying around forever.

Reminds me of the 1960s which is a favourite fashion era for me.
I think the colors make it pop, although it is a simple top, and of course you can add sleeves and other bells and whistles ;)

I so hear you :) mom life, same here!
So fabulous. It’s such a flattering design. 👌🏼👌🏼

This is sooo cute! Seems very easy once you have a bodice block, which is my next project.

@@ThoughtfulCreativity so true! It's a super safe option for biz wear to bring in variety through color blocking compared to patterns :)
