No, revolver spinning has been around way longer than Metal Gear, and it could be a reference to any number of movies, books, plays, or TV shows. Unless it's accompanied by a specific phrase or sound effect, it's just a gun spinning animation.

This is one of the few games that uses the Dolby Atmos renderer optimally. On a 9.6.4 setup it sounds absolutely amazing! I’ve been so underwhelmed by the numerous “Atmos” games and movies but it’s the same principle as good and bad mixes for films; when you find a good one it’s generally REALLY good.
I noticed that in "Hindsight", at the end of the mission, the final interaction changes if the player decides to not try to pick up the gun. If you go after the gun, he gets caught after almost grabbing it, but if you stay in the car, Dipaolo will scream out for Graves and get shot inside of the car, and the cutscene right after it changes slightly, since you can't see him from the camera angle.
A cool detail with the revolver is that it has unique reloads depends on how many bullets are shot. 1 or 2 you just reload them. For 3 or 4 your character saves the unfired shots before reloading with a speed loader, with all 5 fire it reloads all with a speed loader.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but for the defense coop mission, if you call for reinforcement you have a chance of getting Sandman on your team. Though my personal favorite is to get Ohio on my team.
Got two for ya. In modern warfare 3 during the castle mission with the rain storm, if you look up into to the rain, your HUD is affected with water droplets. Not sure if you ever showed this or not. Also, in the OG modern warfare 2, when you barely start no Russian, underneath the floor were they start shooting is 8-bit art of what might be gallaga.
So I noticed that Price will give Lazwell a pistol when they get her back on that highway mission. I don’t know if it’s meant to be a reference to Price and Soap’s pistol interactions in the original modern warfare games, but I think it’s something to mention if it was intentionally made like that.
After the "truth" sequence (when you play as a shadow company soldier) there's a cutscene with price and shephard talking to eachother. While talking, Shephard's subtitle color is yellow for most of the talk, signifying he's not a threat. But after declining cutting ties with shadow company and Graves, (effectively turning against you) his subtitle color turns red, signifying he's an enemy now. Really cool detail, i wonder how it's gonna turn out in the next game

The revolver spin is very similar if not identical to a portion of a scene in the 1993 western Tombstone. Where Johnny Ringo is trying to intimidate Doc Holliday.
12:22 This is most definitely a Revolver Ocelot reference, the spin is sequentially identical, It’s taken from the part after young ocelot says “12 shots” during the cutscene before your duel with him above the canyon in Snake Eater
8:44, loved that mission with Alfredo and Price Also, during the scene at the gates of Los Vaqueros base (the start of the Alone mission I should say) when they're talking to Graves, his name goes from blue to red
On the ghillie suit mission after you get to the sniping point aiming at the lighthouse, you can start running into the combat zone and price will respond differently
The revolver spinning is the same as a scene in Tombstone when Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday spins a tin coffee cup to show off his quick draw skills whilst drunk
Did u know in the Close Air mission, if you shoot the LTM far away from the team, it will longer longer for the shockwave to be heard. But if you shoot near them, you’ll hear it almost instantly
I think you forgot about a small little detail in the Kill or Capture mission. If you kill the AQ soldier before ghost does he just double taps his dead body (this is when they advance to the second floor.)
The first mission 'Strike' if you don't quickly go to the vantage point to observe the arms deal, General Shepherd will say "They're punctual, I'll give them that" referring to CoD Advanced Warfare mission 9 'Crash'
I was hoping you were going to include the cutscene where Price apologizes to Laswell for letting her get captured. He hands her a pistol, just as Soap handed Price a pistol after rescuing him in the original mw2.
Personally, I think Alejandro attacking Soap, Rudy, and Ghost while breaking him free from prison was a callback/reference to Price attacking Roach and Soap in MW2 while breaking him free from the Gulag.
The 627 easter egg is now another crucial number in raid 1,as for a piece of information you'd have to enter the code 627 in the second part of inserting the codes, but this same code can be found on a note about an ammunition stock in the gathered intel which says something like: "Ammo stock report 4 m4s 2LMNH(Lachmann 762?) Etc... Code *627*
10:44 I wonder how many people actually know how significant this part is and not just cause of that "you broken" part but because in the og game although it was Griggs instead of gaz dragging soap, both gaz and Griggs died in the og trilogy when soap was knocked down with price just like this. But this time around not only is gaz not killed while off guard he is able to drag both soap and price to safety get a kill and got to say "you broken" to price, truly fantastic absolutely loved it i went nuts haha. So much vengeance and redemption for task force 141 but manly so much for gaz ghost roach and well we could even say Allen for getting the short stick in the og trilogy they went nuts with this one definitely reached my expectations and is probably now in my top 4 cod games as of rn
Heres a detail for ya:On the first mission when soap and ghost has a short chat after cleaning the house u can see that Ghosts pupals are fully extented beacuse they are in full darkness😄
The revolver inspect animation is either a reference to Revolver Ocelot (as the pinned comment reads) or the Peacekeeper from Battlefield 1. It is more likely a reference to the Peacekeeper as Ocelot dual-wielded the revolvers.
I really love these details. The fact they react to the things you do, is very immersive. At one point you're like, "well it's just a game" and then they are done with your shit 😂
But there something connected to black ops and modern warfare because in the mission desperate measures when you enter the meeting with gorvekchov you can see young Imarn zakeav from the Og cod 4 modern warfare
That revolver inspect animation really reminds me of Ocelot's revolver tricks from MGS3 Snake Eater. During one of the first times you see him, maybe even just before his first boss battle he does his animations which are in the same order as those in MW2 (I think), just longer because Ocelot is Ocelot
I agree, it's pretty close. What sells it for me, though, is the cylinder check. Makes me think of when Ocelot says "12 shots" after that first bit of spinning. Bit of a stretch, though, so take it with a grain of salt.
In multiplayer, they added the "Spectrum" Xbox exclusive camo from Ghosts that you would get for pre-ordering the game and the "80s fever" camo looks a lot like the "1987" camo from ghosts also
I loved that ghost team was a whole reference in itself to call of duty ghost. Would’ve been cool tho if they took it a step further with changing each of their masks.
I think that the way Alejandro grabs you and tries to punch you as you rescue him is very similar to how price punches and aims a gun at you when freeing him from the gulag
Hello Captain eggcellent I have a small detail that u missed in the kill or capture mission. In the scene where ghosts performs the pistol takedown on the soldier walking out the door, if you shoot the soldier the second the door opens he will fall to the floor next to ghost and squirm a little. Ghost will then shoot him once in the face with his rifle
Don't know if you've done some clips for hidden dialog, but in MW2 (so far that I know), in the mission "Recon by Fire", if after completing the sniping section and being told by Cpt. Price to go into the facility while he covers you, Laswell will start to talk, but if you advance too far, you will miss a conversation between Cpt Price, Laswell, and Gaz. Thought it was a nice little. Hidden dialog you could miss if just going through the motions.
5:04 did anyone else get that QR code? Also, 8:58 fun fact, the same happens to the non-main characters of the SAS soldiers in the 2019's "Clean House" mission
There was a reference to the original MW2 in the AC-130 mission in the remake as well. Graves tells you "Do not fire on the church" which is almost verbatim the line they used in the first MW2 because they couldn't confirm that the church was working with the terrorists.
So basically there is an Easter egg where a lot of kill streaks say tanto on the bottom right side, in mw 2019, in Piccadilly, the area where you first meet price, is called the tanto building.
The last mission where you scaling down the skyscraper floor by floor eliminating hostiles, is a call back to the Call of Duty Ghosts mission #7: Federation Day. In which after they attach their grappling hooks from a skyscraper across the other side and hook on clearing floor by floor
I'm a bit late for this, I think another reference might be 10:55 Gaz dragging you and Price away from a shooting like in the final scene on the bridge of the old mw before Zakhaev ends him
There’s a reference to the most famous Call of Duty mission ever in this. After the campaign, there’s a secret cutscene involving terrorists on a plane with a text message saying No Russian, referencing the famous No Russian mission

A cool detail with the revolver is that it has unique reloads depends on how many bullets are shot. 1 or 2 you just reload them. For 3 or 4 your character saves the unfired shots before reloading with a speed loader, with all 5 fire it reloads all with a speed loader.
2:39 I love that detail a lot! It shows the effort of the creators to make the game look real!
I love that they record and animate for the situations where the player just says no to the instructions. It would be a different game without that
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but for the defense coop mission, if you call for reinforcement you have a chance of getting Sandman on your team.
Modern Warfare 3 isn’t out yet, what the hell are you on about?

6:40 pov: you mad as hell but don’t want to break anything
So I noticed that Price will give Lazwell a pistol when they get her back on that highway mission. I don’t know if it’s meant to be a reference to Price and Soap’s pistol interactions in the original modern warfare games, but I think it’s something to mention if it was intentionally made like that.
I loved that interaction between price and soap in the originals, especially as we played as Soap in CoD 4 so i felt more connected
i think it is
After the "truth" sequence (when you play as a shadow company soldier) there's a cutscene with price and shephard talking to eachother.
The revolver spinning reminds me of revolver ocelot from MGS because of the way he spins it sideways before spinning it up and checking the ammo
I am 99% sure it is the reference
@@ajatardracarys5659 I agree but I was still skeptical since he didn't really spin it sideways as much as revolver normally does
The revolver spin is a reference to a western movie called Tombstone
I'm pretty sure it's the same inspect as the .44 magnum in Mwr
@@ajatardracarys5659 it's just a reference to spinning revolvers which was a thing long before metal gear.
6:14 bro this scene had me so stressed im being yelled at to get on the box and I can't do anything. Of course I got on the box when I played the game earlier but in this man do they do an amazing job at conveying stress and anxiety, and fr its scary being yelled at like that.
Gaz actually makes another callback! I forgot what the mission was called but it's the one where you're driving to save Laswell and at some point, he'll quote Price and say "shock and awe"
Price also asks Gaz if he's broken a second time in the MW19 campaign, right after they bail our if the heli
My favorite detail is upon firing the rocket, the screen shakes a few seconds later and there’s a rumbling. They added the shockwave.
The revolver spin is very similar if not identical to a portion of a scene in the 1993 western Tombstone. Where Johnny Ringo is trying to intimidate Doc Holliday.
12:22 This is most definitely a Revolver Ocelot reference, the spin is sequentially identical,
It’s taken from the part after young ocelot says “12 shots” during the cutscene before your duel with him above the canyon in Snake Eater
In the Taraq Ground War map, the Rust map can be found partially buried near objective B.
I found it and I was so happy
8:44, loved that mission with Alfredo and Price
Also, during the scene at the gates of Los Vaqueros base (the start of the Alone mission I should say) when they're talking to Graves, his name goes from blue to red
Wait till you see Alejandro's face in the mission he first appears in, it should be used as a jump scare in a Zombies map like last gen Rictofen
"JOHNNY YOU'RE WASTING TIME WHAT THA FACK" 😂😂😂 coolest voice I've ever heard
Did u know in the Close Air mission, if you shoot the LTM far away from the team, it will longer longer for the shockwave to be heard. But if you shoot near them, you’ll hear it almost instantly
But no matter what, it still can be heard. Shows how powerful it is
@@grubskies4221 yep a explosion can be heard for KILOMETERS in some instances its fucking insane frankly
10:07 actually Adler is the main villain but Perseus is a villain too because if you don’t set up the trap Adler kills you
Did you know: The revolver inspection animation is a reference to Ocelot from The Metal Gear games
I was waiting for the famous Ocelot meow for some dumb reason lol
Came here to comment that lol
Isn't that almost the same animation as the peacekeeper in Battlefield 1 ?
@@ghost_5468 I haven’t played BF1 so I wouldn’t know
And CSGO
I think you forgot about a small little detail in the Kill or Capture mission. If you kill the AQ soldier before ghost does he just double taps his dead body (this is when they advance to the second floor.)
8:39 ALFREDO?!?! I FUCKING CANT LMAO
My favorite member of Los Vequeros
I love how at 8:44 he calls Alejandro alfredo without taking a pause.
I can't wait for the 3rd entry the ending was a amazing and kept all the characters the fans cared about .
11:17 Price also said it In Cod mw2019 on the Embassy mission when their heli crashed
Personally, I think Alejandro attacking Soap, Rudy, and Ghost while breaking him free from prison was a callback/reference to Price attacking Roach and Soap in MW2 while breaking him free from the Gulag.
The 627 easter egg is now another crucial number in raid 1,as for a piece of information you'd have to enter the code 627 in the second part of inserting the codes, but this same code can be found on a note about an ammunition stock in the gathered intel which says something like:
"Ammo stock report
4 m4s
2LMNH(Lachmann 762?)
Etc...
Code *627*
I genuinely thought the post credits cutscene would’ve been in here but nobody ever mentions it! Great little cutscene and a good throwback.
One of the death animations if you charge at an enemy unarmed, the enemy grabs your arm and shoots you like Makorov on the Ambulance
Hey capt been a fan since 2015 keep up the good work!
8:44
“alfredo”
the way i spit out my drink and started laughing
5:59 - I gotta say this the funniest segment in this game
8:40
Ah yes, who can forget Alfredo? One of the main characters in the game.
10:05 the quote is not a reference to cold war persius but rather is a quote form a roman poet named Aulus 'Persius' Flaccus
But there something connected to black ops and modern warfare because in the mission desperate measures when you enter the meeting with gorvekchov you can see young Imarn zakeav from the Og cod 4 modern warfare
8:44 "You are joined by Alfredo"
I couldn't help it bro, I'm sorry it was too funny 😂
That revolver inspect animation really reminds me of Ocelot's revolver tricks from MGS3 Snake Eater. During one of the first times you see him, maybe even just before his first boss battle he does his animations which are in the same order as those in MW2 (I think), just longer because Ocelot is Ocelot
I agree, it's pretty close. What sells it for me, though, is the cylinder check. Makes me think of when Ocelot says "12 shots" after that first bit of spinning.
Bit of a stretch, though, so take it with a grain of salt.
I was literally thinking the same thing guys. In one of them of not all you can make snake spin a revolver as well. I think when he is in the prison
Stereotypes are exclusive to the Ghosts themselves I guess.🤷♂️
12:22 "You're pretty good." -Some cat from an another video game
12:14 This can be a reference to Revolver Ocelot from MGS3, ´cause he´s do the same movements with the revolver as Ocelot
@8:43 apparenlty there is a new member of the Vaqueros that I wasn't aware of lol. Keep up the great content Captain!
10:36 in fact, that's a voiceline for any friendly fire towards price. Even in warzone a d DMZ!
I think that the way Alejandro grabs you and tries to punch you as you rescue him is very similar to how price punches and aims a gun at you when freeing him from the gulag
I really need to play the 2019 version of Modern Warfare again. I was so lost on some of these references, lol.
I really like the way the campaign literally recreated one of the most iconic missions from the original MW campaign
On the crown raceway map, when hit by a car, the cars actually give you a killcam
Wait you can be hit by a car on that map? I didn't notice that the playable area actually included the track!
@@jordanbrown3660 I believe so, if it's the map with the race cars then yes
Bruh called him Alfredo🤣🤣🤣 8:42
Theres a post credit scene in the campaign that calls back to a certain controversial mission from the original MW2
5:04 did anyone else get that QR code? Also, 8:58 fun fact, the same happens to the non-main characters of the SAS soldiers in the 2019's "Clean House" mission
I see it
2:00 bro is playing the unplugged guitar
There was a reference to the original MW2 in the AC-130 mission in the remake as well. Graves tells you "Do not fire on the church" which is almost verbatim the line they used in the first MW2 because they couldn't confirm that the church was working with the terrorists.
6:23 these are my teammates in general
So basically there is an Easter egg where a lot of kill streaks say tanto on the bottom right side, in mw 2019, in Piccadilly, the area where you first meet price, is called the tanto building.
The last mission where you scaling down the skyscraper floor by floor eliminating hostiles, is a call back to the Call of Duty Ghosts mission #7: Federation Day. In which after they attach their grappling hooks from a skyscraper across the other side and hook on clearing floor by floor
I'm a bit late for this, I think another reference might be 10:55 Gaz dragging you and Price away from a shooting like in the final scene on the bridge of the old mw before Zakhaev ends him
I really hope we get to see roach or private Allen in the next MW
6:26 the JOHNNY GET ON THE CONTROLS WTF?! was perfect
6:48 Missiles Away 😂😂
The revolver inspect animation might actually be a reference to Major Ocelot doing the same thing in MGS3!
There’s a reference to the most famous Call of Duty mission ever in this. After the campaign, there’s a secret cutscene involving terrorists on a plane with a text message saying No Russian, referencing the famous No Russian mission
its not even a refrence nor a secret cut scene. its literally the next part of the campaign lmao.
I think the revolver tricks thing might possibly be a subtle reference to Revolver Ocelot from the Metal Gear franchise. Dude does more revolver spinning than Snake hides in boxes
