    Thanks Henry. I know this is an old vid, but I appreciate you taking the time to talk about the mount's models and areas of confusion. I've been away from a/v for a while and while I have and older speed boosters, EF lenses and MF bodies, I had forgotten about what what and some of the specifics was. This was a good refresher. THX

    thanks for the autofocus info. this is my 4th or 5th video searching for that info and you are the first to mention it. just a side note you can modify ef-s lens mounts to work by removing the part that sticks out. just do a search on it. on my particular lens I just popped the whole plastic piece on the rear of the lens out. some people grind it down. it might be different from lens to lens. always do your own research and verify that the modification you are attempting will work for your needs. if done wrong it will break your camera.

    I have a quick question about the Vitrox speed booster. I currently own a speed booster for my Canon M 50 and want to purchase an expensive L series ef lens. My question is, Will the Viltrox speed booster degrade the quality of this expensive canon lens I plan to use with it? Because no matter how good the Canon lens is, The image must still pass through the speed booster. thanks

    When you leave the speedbooster on the camera and turn off the camera for a day, does it drain the battery? The Viltrox speedbooster for the canon m50 keeps draining the battery when not in use. I’m curious if it’s just a Canon M50 issue.

    what is the little lever thing on the outside of the speedbooster?

  • @trevvrun
    @trevvrun 10 месяцев назад

    A speed booster does NOT create more background blur. The speed booster only changes the EFFECTIVE aperture, meaning it gives a 1.8 lens the light of a 1.2 lens but the aperture blades aren't actually opening to a f1.2 so it will still give the bokeh of a F1.8.

      Chopping off parts? Lol. Best to just purchase the right gear.

    • @MrPhilbautista
      @MrPhilbautista 2 года назад

      @@RileyBanksWho it's called a modification. It's something a lot of people resort to when they don't have the money to buy the gear they want. It must be great when you can afford to buy anything you want but, for those of us that can't, we have to learn to get by.

    • @RileyBanksWho
      @RileyBanksWho 2 года назад

      @@MrPhilbautista What about the warranty though? Say you buy this and "chop off" the extension part and then two weeks into using it, something is wrong with the speedbooster, now Viltrox won't even touch the thing.
      I think it's really important to understand that IF this gear is used for commercial shoots, you don't just 'buy' this gear, you use it for whatever production you need it for and make a return on that investment. I LOVE DIY film making, but I would not dare chop off parts even on my cheapest lenses🧐

    • @MrPhilbautista
      @MrPhilbautista 2 года назад

      @@RileyBanksWho LOL you're not chopping up the adapter. You're chopping up the lens. For sure Canon won't be guaranteeing that lens anymore but, considering they've phased out the whole line already, is that really that big an issue? Anyway, you do you. Mods aren't for the faint of heart.

    • @RileyBanksWho
