I did this to my roof today. Your video looks Exactly like the repairs I needed to do and the color too. Ended up repairing about 25 Patches...now I have a minecraft looking roof. lol Thanks.
awesome video!!! you make this stuff look so easy!!... I had a tree limb come through the bed room roof and into the ceiling.. dry wall and osb panel have been replaced.. I used some of the roofing cement.. and did not do a good job on the 3 tab shingles.. I gooped the stuff up on the shingles from the left and right side of the holes and the top as well. it was a nightmare to find the small nail head where the water came back into it.. I guess I need to redo this.. project again.. its been frustrating not to worry about. but I want a good seal!!! thanks for your video! it helped a lot!
Great video, they never get old! Thank you for putting these out. Even if the repairs are similar, they're all just a little different, as is your commentary. Keep up the good work!
I remember the old three tab. People in my area loved Canyon Red and Shasta Green. I also remember the organic Certain Teed shingles that looked like potatoes chips in two years. I'm glad that I never used Certain Teed.
I don’t really care all your videos are always good I prefer the longer videos 15 mins and up and the “worse repair/bad roofer” videos or whatever u call them
I got real good at this before i put steel on my roof, it was the same color too actually lol. Honestly these wind repairs are my favorite thing to do on a roof
Using all purpose acrylic latex caulk plus silicon interior/exterior to dab under shingles. It’s what I have on hand. Will that not hold in the long run?
I cannot find a video where the tab right below the roof cap is broken and needs to be replaced. Do you have to remove the whole roof cap or just the same situation if it’s a tab right below it? Haven’t found one video addressing the situation.
Thank you for the reply. So I don’t care if I replace the whole three tab or just one shingle but my concern was how do I remove the damage shingle if it’s the top one right next to the roof cap. I have a picture but it sounds like we just remove some nails from the roof cap so I can pull the shingle out?
Thanks for sharing the knowledge, good man! Cutting back from branches this spring, found a 6 inch hole in the roof. I need more under to repair, but this will cover until I get the larger repair done!
@@staresce 45 seconds to 2+ minutes into the video, he'll explain why it maters. Also the nail head being exposed.may leak, because it's a hole that goes into the shingle, into the paper/plastic barrier & then into the decking itself. Any water that accumulates will weep down the metal nail & drip into the insulation & the ceiling. That becomes like a water leak into the drywall of the bathroom walls. The water absorbs & weakens, the gravity and the ceiling could collapse with enough rain storms. Wet/Dry patch is better than doing nothing, replacing the shingle for a single tab or all three and you may have to replace the one's above if they are damaged for whatever reason. A repair job, the tabs & shingles above may be brittle and break.
I notice you cut the shingle down to size and did not use the entire thing, I thought you were supposed to replace the entire 3 tab shingle even if only one part of it was broken off?
I’m fixing to repair a couple broken and damaged shingles, and this was the video to watch to see it done correctly!
Super helpful. Couldnt find a 3 tab repair video until yours!
I just watched 4 videos in a row. Best, most comprehensive. Thank you

Good info thanks. I'd been replacing the whole shingle for 1 broken tab, now I can get 3 repairs out of a shingle.

Helping a friend repair a repair shingles breaking from not being resealed back down to new ones...😊👍💪✌️🙏
That is great I usually replace the whole shingle instead of just the tab didn’t realize how easy it is to just do one tab
This is the first video i have seen where he replaces just one tab instead of the entire three table shingle . Now I don't know which way is better.
I don’t really care all your videos are always good I prefer the longer videos 15 mins and up and the “worse repair/bad roofer” videos or whatever u call them
I REALLY appreciate this kind of vid. I'd love to see a similar situation with the top of the roof at the ridge.
Dave from ontario Canada great video and nice work

Repetition is ok with me. Your videos are great. Wish more RUclipsrs had awesome footage like this. Your camera is nice. Looks like a 4K quality.

What brand adhesive would you recommend form like Home Depot or lowes that I can get to glue my shingle down with
Looks like geocel 4500
This guy is GOOD!

If you're talking about a shingle tab, or dimension shingle right below the ridge. Yes, you will need to take the nails out of the cap on that side.

J'aime bien , j'ai fais une réparation similaire pour le toit de mon garage . Cela évite de changer tout le shingle. Merci pour la video.

REPLACING SHINGLE ROOF step by step - DIY - When you have time - how to remove old and put new
Look great
I dont like the sealant and would use plastic roof cement or flashing cement and apply a bit more to hold tabs down.
Whether it's one tab or 3 tabs of an entire shingle that could be done, where the 3 tabs meet matters.
Why does where it meets matter?

First 3-tab shingle repair video where just one tab was replaced, instead of the whole shingle...
Где взять такой молоток?👍👍👍👍
Looks like the truck behind you needs a good "roofing" too.

You are. If it's your house don't do it this way. If customer paying you good money don't do it this way.
