    As a new homeowner experiencing a roof issue, I can relate to this. Appreciate the insight. Interesting points about BBB, Angies and Home Advisor. Many of the businesses near me market themselves as preferred/awarded Home Advisor contractors. Would definitely appreciate more insight into those areas!

    I had refrense to call or go and look at and if you had a problem I would fix it as fast as I could and took care of any damage (only happen once freek storm and had some ceiling damage when roofing) fixed the ceiling and a new coat of paint

Or you can get over charged or have very crappy work done, there’s still some honest contractors out there that don’t try getting rich off one job, Be carful and check there knowledge on type of work being done.

Place ends up sub contracting the job to another roofing company who actually did it correctly and luckily I didn't pay a dime for the job.

    Don’t like roof-overs as cost more than doing new roof if doing the roof-over correctly; b/c labor gonna be more & same for materials. So, I feel same about roof-overs as I do for tile over tile; not worth it and don’t do it; as can cause so much more issues, especially when older homes. As a remodeler, tile over tile, isn’t good idea as adds weight, and floors especially, most likely aren’t gonna handle that extra weight and if house older and floor was done w/ lath….that’s a heavy floor, and so on…. So as can do tile over tile, highly recommended DONT DO and same w/ roof-overs, not worth it b/c eventually the issues/cost/etc….WILL need addressed and catch up to you and always happens at worst times in persons life and most ppl don’t have hundreds to thousands of dollars laying around

  • @Patrick-yh3oi

    • @colepletka1790
      @colepletka1790 2 года назад +1

      It does not sound like there was an agreement with the homeowner for the repair. Therefor there is no basis for the lean, judge would throw that out real quick.

    • @GrandRoofingInc
      @GrandRoofingInc  2 года назад +4

      I believe in most States they could put a lean on the property yes. 1st off I think the contractor would have to have some proof of a signed estimate or digital trace of them saying to do it yes. I also don't think it would be feasible for such a small bill, the cost it would take to put the lean on the property would not be worth it. That's if that hack job of a handyman even knew how to do it. The other thing with a lean is is a mechanic's lean, which is 2nd to all other mortgages and things. It would be no guarantee they would get paid, Just a scare tactic.
