🔥💖🔥 I still love how spectacularly the "parental advisory explicit content" sticker backfired. As soon as it appeared, it became a stamp of quality for music fans like me. It meant you were getting the real goods & not some wack radio edit. For artists it became a badge of honor. I worked it into the album art for my first 2 hole-in-the-wall productions, not as a warning but as an announcement. I had a t-shirt with the same warning on it that I wore to perform. It's like that bit of ancient military wisdom:when your enemy throws a rock at you, pick it up; it's your weapon now.
Yup! That is exactly what the symbol ended up being utilized as. I can attest that is also why I have them on my own album covers. It tells the audience that I am about to dive into some serious stuff. Forget profanity! Let’s talk about smashing capitalism!
omg that last few seconds with "what kind of example are you setting for your own children when you lie on national tv?" haha thanks for uploading turbo queer
i did feel that at my local pride this year. it didn't feel as outraged or as much of a civil rights movement as i was hoping for in 2023. maybe by next year it'll be different.. but corporations do get their tenticles into everything. so well said!
I’m opposed to censorship in any capacity. Even if I don’t like what someone is saying or disagree with it they still have the right to their opinions or expression. What better way to inform yourself about things you disagree with than to hear it straight from the source? It’s like a “don’t interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake “ kind of thing and I think at the end of the day the PMRC was mad that artistic expression can’t necessarily be held to that standard. Someone can say anything they want in a song and that’s not a clear indication that the creator even believes what they’re saying. Opposition to an artist expression or speaker though can be held to that standard and with it will organically bring accountability.

Fuck yeah! What you said. 🤘
See, that right there, about 12 seconds from the end? That's the '80s (maybe early '90s by then) equivalent of a screencap. Jello came with receipts.

Nailed it.
Tipper would be considered moderate/conservative by today's standards.
You are correct, except to them she's "woke". ruclips.net/user/shortshVyT-phdO1s
