  • In an age where sports cars are becoming SUVs and sedans, Nissan has an 80% new, two-seater Z car with retro styling and is on team #savethemanuals. The Z sits on an updated 370z chassis with improved rigidity and increased horsepower from the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 shared with the Red Sport Infiniti’s but paired with new transmissions for a familiar but refined driving experience. The base trim, Sport, starts at $39,990 with the Performance trim stepping it up to $49,990 along with an array of performance and cosmetic components that inch the Z closer but still undercutting the six-cylinder Toyota Supra.

    Nissan did not have to build a 2-seat sports car for the enthusiast, but we are glad they did.

    It's depressing how many people commenting don't understand inflation. The price of this car is right in line with the pricing of prior generations of Z car once you factor in inflation.
    Rays has been making forged OEM wheels for the Z since the 350z.

    Since the 350Z they have had forged wheels made by Rays.

    How reliable is the Nissan z?

      Any new model is a risk but the platform and engine have been used before so it should be fairly worry-free.

      Unfortunately, we cant really speak to reliability because we only had the car for a short time, but experienced no problems while we had it.

    What’s the point in getting the performance spec without the manual? Just take the bus if you don’t care about driving.

      Because if you are about speed and racing, you want the automatic with paddle shifters. It will always be faster.

    Previously owned a 370Z so when Nissan first revealed the new Z I was so hyped. Then the long release downed the excitement a bit.. still the Z was on the top of my list. But then the day came when I finally got to see the new Z in person.. I was very disappointed.. this car is not worth its price.. Performance trim should have been priced under 48K. There was just too many other cars that are better. If you can spend a couple thousand more.. get the Supra.. it is a much better car in so many ways. Anyways.. I went with the G87 M2.. basically an M3/M4 minus the extra luxury and price.

    Does this guy sound like he has no idea about Z cars and is waffling to you?

    • @skip741x3
      @skip741x3 Год назад +1

      he quoted 3.7 to 60 for the Z.. thats not been achieved in actual testing.. more like 4.2 with the auto.. the supra does 3.8 -3.9 and walks the Z.... nissan probably came up with those specs

    $54K is pricey. What happened to $50K. I would get the base model for $40k.

    It seems like all Nissans have a Blind spot.. The Rogue, Juke, Kicks, Altima, I could go on. The Altima isn't as bad as the other's in general, but They always did have a bit a of blind spot.. LOL..

  • @marcasswellbmd6922

    All These Cars are hard sells for me, The Z the Supra and even worse the GR86 or BRZ, because of that Camaro SS 6.2L 455 WT 455WHP at the same price cheaper if used and No turbo's. Look I love the fair Lady but at 35K you can find that 6.2L Camaro SS with a 100 more foot lb's of torque.. I have been looking at cars for a while now and everything is way over priced.. Like Out of Control.. There's no way I am walking around with a $650 a month car payment over my head every month.. To hell with that.. I get why the Boosted Boys use those K series motor's and build their own cars. These days you can Buy/build yourself a very fast Honda/Nissan/Toyota junker and build it if you can..

    Everything about the new Z would have been great if this was still 2015. The new Z just feels old and tired.

    • @ClassicCars_TV
      @ClassicCars_TV  Год назад +3

      Nissan states the car is 80% new. Now that is probably a mix of updated/redesigned parts along with brand new parts, but it is the number they gave.

    • @hartsickdisciple
      @hartsickdisciple Год назад

      @@ClassicCars_TV As someone who owned a 370z, I can assure this "new" car isn't 80% new in any meaningful way. It's a 370z with an engine swap, a body kit, and an interior technology refresh. Nissan is playing semantics.

  • @josephl5339
    @josephl5339 Год назад

    I really don't like the look at all the interior has a similar look to the Subaru BRZ and is not as sporty as the 370z and now with new technology you can add a Tesla screen to any car now not worth the high price.
