Life Inside The International Space Station

- Ever wondered what it’s like to work in space? The brave men and women of the International Space Station are truly a special breed, but at the end of the day they’re just regular people, going about their jobs.
So join us today as we shadow our higher ups and learn all about a day in the life of an ISS astronaut.
When hurtling around planet earth at 17,100 mph, standard human notions of day and night start to look pretty silly. In a normal 24 hour stretch, a typical ISS astronaut will see the sun rise, and set, 16 times in total. Human bodies did not evolve that way. So a regular 24-hour earth day is maintained up there, if nothing else to prevent the crew descending into a grim spiral of permanent crippling jet lag.

Good luck brother, im working my way to be a fighter pilot and dream of flying the f22 raptor one day. Best of luck, i hope you catch your dream!
Yeah, I want to become an astronaut so badly.

I would imagine sleeping in near zero g must be worth it alone. Could you imagine no pressure points? A perfect state of relaxation.
I imagine it's not all too good tbh.
Youd be too used to tensing up, and you don't feel the blanket on you
Maybe once I got used to it
@@mechanicalturkproductions7349 listen to active/previous astronauts podcasts and talks. Most of them sleep like a baby compared to on earth on ISS or aboard the shuttle when the topic is spoken about. Terry Virts on Joe Rogan Experience is an example.

umm... no.
Dude… I couldn’t live this way. No thanks. Hats off to them for doing it.
I want to see a flat earther going into space
Flat earther thinks about the matrix
Some will still not believe. They will say the windows have been programmed. I dont know what other proof they need. The ISS alone is solid proof cause we can see it from earth. After all, flat earth cant support orbit.

Space exploration is actually a big sacrifice and a great adventure as well. The fact that astronauts brush their teeth and swallow the waste made me feel like throwing up!
I use to swallow the waste when i was a kid lol
I suppose they could spit into a rag and throw it away.
thank god i saw this.
no more dreaming about being an astronaut .
it is tough.
Next room they need to install: The gravity controlled room, with foldout table, microwave, mini fridge, and shower! 😆
Just spent the day at Kennedy Space Center with my grandchildren and wanted to find out more about what goes on in the ISS. This was a great video! Thanks so much!
It does look tough, but if you think about it, it's not the hardest thing is it , the hardest thing might be getting up there!

Thank you for a great video about life on the International Space Station.
My mom told me naughty scientists are sent to space as punishment.
That's why I always do my science logically and with empirical evidance.
If they were...I think half of scientists would be naughty...
Thank you. This had a lot of interesting facts. Class 4K
Wish we knew what they are really doing up there as in space visitors that fly by...truly awesome people
I like science but the astronaut lifestyle I would not be able to abide. Maybe one day, that’s all. So glad we have great people up there.
Nice video, learnt a lot about how astronauts live on the ISS.
Very interesting and informative video👍 🚀
Looking forward to seeing how a SpaceX space station will look like in the future
It will never happen.
Not much different. Space radiation and need of reliability means than in space we're limited to 80s, at best early 90s electronics. And even those need to be manufactured differently to be reliable and not make computing errors because of radiation.
Well done ! Man's greatest achievement: The most Expensive Toilet in Space.
Thank for info
Yea imagine being able to causally phone home from the ISS 🤣 Facetime: “mom look at the view”
When that one astronaut snores like a train: *LOUD SNORING* “Ay, who’s snoring??” “MAKE IT STOP!!”
Life on space station is similar to what you can experience with broken leg.
No bath, toilet routine is like winning a battle, mobility issues, can't go anywhere, work on flexibility to keep body intact, mostly stuck on screens for entertainment and work.
I hope science develope more in the future.
It seems quite an adventure
POV you're looking for flat earthers in the comment section 😂
Not a flat earther but... Why did the guys body disappear when he went to go around the corner at like 5:18
@@c.b.e.8555 That’s a magical thing called a fade transition. It’s commonly used in editing when skipping to another part of the video lol.
Sorry if this sounded rude. I’m just tired of answering this question haha.

You don’t have a spare million dollars buddy
They say 22 degrees in the ISS is manageable. Meanwhile in Australia, our winter temperatures can reach 27 at max.
I think i wanna be a astronaut. What courses do i gotta take?
So can you get TV from All countries when you're in the Space Station?
how to get this starting music???
Thanks for doing this at 6 MB a second

All I need to know, is how long are teams obligated to stay up there?
Heavier when returned to earth
If I were younger, fitter and more intelligent then I’d definitely love to go to outer space.

gravity...i love you
Its my dream to go In the iss
Did Kubrick work on this farce too?
If i somehow got a chance to go to the space even just for 1 one day i'll say yes even before they finished the question... We can go anywhere anyplace on earth by ourselves, but only the chosen one can go 400-600 kilometer up there.. so i'll say yes if somehow i get the chance
Exdomicado. I'd love to do this when I grow up 😊
I’m just curious if we can live where there is no gravity
@AshleePE. It's very tough on the body and we'll have to develop some form of artificial gravity as we've evolved for life at 1g.
The WI-FI is what i could go to ISS for,!!!
Despite the 600Mbps mentioned in the video - alas very little of that is actually available for general "internet browsing". That 600Mbps is shared across all users/uses of the ISS (think of the telemetry/video downlinks / 100's of experiments).
If you ask astronauts browsing the internet is still a bit of a painful experience. Still, that has improved from just a few years ago when they only had 300Mbps.

The craft carried oxygen tanks.

When there internet is better than half of the world
At about 5:18 - 5:21 mark when astronaut goes around corner he fades out to nothing before completely going around corner. This can only happen using video effects with multiple layers. Don't believe me? Just watch at time I posted. It's undeniable
It's clearly just a transition to speed up whatever video that's from. It's not only possible "using video effects with multiple layers". Do you even know what you are saying?
This might be the stupidest comment in the comment sections.
It’s literally just a f**king transition bro. Just skipping to later footage using a fade transition, and since the camera is in the same spot and all of the objects in the room are stationary, the only thing that fades out would be the astronaut.
I could school you in 5 follow up comments explaining why every part of what you just said is wrong, but I don’t like to waste time.
Learn how basic video editing works, how gravity works and how to do simple research on a topic before you comment.
