love it man! gives me some huge inspo for when i set up my own dedicated space for it :) man, i am so NOOB with the tech stuff and the pod, solid details and info here... I may have to tap you on the shoulder for when it comes the need for me to upgrade into a more techy system.
Thanks for watching champ. Pods don’t have be as complicated as this but it is a RUclips centric show which is why some extra bells and whistles are necessary, and then having guests and tv audio can make it a bit extra. Realistically just the mics and the Zoom recorder are all you need to get up and running
Great video Drew & thanks for sharing the info - have always been curious to see what is required to produce a quality product. Keep it up. 👍... What's next to the equipment wish list??
Thanks Dave, the next things on the Wishlist would probably be some extra cameras to make the edit a bit more engaging but that’s the most expensive route to take. Doesn’t make financial sense right now while we are in the baby stages, but that would be the dream for levelling up the production
Hello Drew! Have you tried to record continuously on Sony A6400 ? Let's say at least for 2 hours, does it holding it? Does it overheat? What was the longest recording that you did on it? Thank you for informative and quality content!
Hey there, I used the external power supply for recordings and have done a max of 2 hours with the a6400 but haven’t tested it further because I generally don’t use SD cards for that allow for that much data. It does heat up a little as expected but not so much that it shuts the camera down.
Hi Drew great video I’ve started watching you via Chris Furlong. Very informative. Watching your listing videos you are super fast listing. Are you able to do a video on what you did when you first started I would like to do you tubes but this is too much tech for me, bit scary. You’ve got a great set up though very professional well done. Thank you for putting information out there 💗 Jodie Here at Jodstas
Hi Jodie, I have been making videos for about 8 years now across a few channels so I’ve gone through a lot of different setups. The first camera I got was a LUMIX G7 which got me through the first couple of years, but that was before the iPhones had great video quality. So if I was starting now with no gear knowledge or editing skills I would just use an iPhone and work on learning how to chip clips together to form a story. I’m more pedantic than most but it really doesn’t need to be fancy. There’s two types of videos to get started a) a more scripted and planned out talking heads video where you’re sharing info in an educational way or b) a vlog style that is not necessarily planned or scripted and is just documenting a day or a process. Choose whichever style feels more natural and comfortable to get you started and then go from there. I hope that helps; but don’t worry about gear for a couple of years would be my main advice
@@DrewDTrott thanks Drew really appreciate your reply. I have to start going through your catalogue to get more helpful tips, I’ve been on eBay for 23 years now and still learning heaps from so many people. Appreciate that everyone shares there tips the resellers are a great lot of people. My daughter is actually pretty high up and famous but do you think a teenager would help her mum 👩 nooooo. She’s got over 82k on tick-tock and does editing. What I love watching your videos is how you take the photos and talk while you do them. Have you always done clothes? Do you clean them yourself? Best of luck with your you tubes hopefully me watching your back catalogue can help you get some dollary doos 💗 Jodie Here at Jodstas
Thought the same thing. The zoom is amazing, but the RodeCaster will save you a lot of headaches. But nice setup tho really nice the way you have used the space!
@@comptonstills Maybe I need to do a more in depth walkthrough between the gear stage to the actual recording and editing. This video shows how I edit the audio and video in Adobe ruclips.net/video/qWT8n3pXrrI/видео.html

Hey thanks Ethan, I spent a great deal of time putting all the pieces together so it was great to finally capture it all in 1 video.
@@DrewDTrott Yeah looks like you've nailed the cross between practical and professional!
Spot on, great way of putting it. Appreciate the support mate

Nice I have the MV7 DS1 for mic and am getting the Zoom Podtrak P4 for recording 👍🏽
Perfect! You’re reading to go plus you have plenty of camera gear if you want to add the video element. So keen to see what you produce mate

Before I go an price all this out individually, does anyone have an idea of the total cost? Approximately?
@@HayesRanch thanks for watching, I don’t have a full cost breakdown I am sorry, some of the gear I already had on hand from previous projects etc
to complicated for beginner, just get rodcaster pro to save the headache for all wiring
Rodecaster is a great option too, I prefer to have the zoom h6 on hand for other videos and for the portability

@@SomeComedies totally understand that point of view, glad you liked the video and hope you got a bit of inspo out of it
yup, rodecaster can do all that mix minus an bluetooth connectivity without all the wiring mess.
@Jon20202 very fair point and something I will implement on the next studio iteration
This is not helpful bro. you're just talking without a proper walkthrough
Thanks for the feedback, how would you suggest making improvements?
