I don't think Sonny gives himself enough credit! He's so humble and has such an amazing team, I don't think he considers himself to be one of the big food/travel related channels. So Sonny, if by any chance you read this, simply thank you and the team for the constant high tier content!

Hi Sonny, I’m a foreigner who's lived in Korea for almost 10 years and I just wanted to mention that your understanding of Korean culture, food, and even language is far beyond that of expats who've resided here for years. Even though I’m not Korean, I'd like you to thank you for being so passionate about introducing little known Korean foods to the world, especially when they're so often labeled as "disgusting" by many Westerners!

Its awesome to see that their food markets made a come back. I stayed there for 37 days last summer and there was only about half of the stands/people and that's being generous. some were even closed down fully. Can't wait to move there in 2 years

My mom is there.... I am living in the U.S. just opened my own restaurant finally and the first thing I put on the tv.. she is in there.. it feels like my mom came to my restaurant from Korea.. I miss her..

WoW! Wonderfull food markets have really bounced back, which must be exciting for both locals and visitors. Staying there for 37 days must have given you a good feel for the area, even if it was quieter at the time. For me everything tasted the same after a while also Koreans love to put cheese in also Korea has the worst burgers in the world, anyway at least the food is better than Japan in which everything tasted processed. The only thing good about Korea is the price of meat, it's dirt cheap.

15 years ago, I lived in the nearby city of Changwon. My friends and I used to take the bus to Busan regularly, usually go to this fish market. Freshest seafood I've ever had, it was just fantastic.

Oh man, I spent a lot of time in Busan (back then it was Pusan) in the military. One time I remember having a day off after all the exercises were over so we had moved from tent city to a hotel on the coast, and sliding up to this little bar/stall on the beach with a couple of "soju warriors" already half in the bag, and they asked me to buy them more soju so I did and then proceeded to have fresh live octopus chopped in front of me, served with a chili sauce. It was life-changing! And we were friends for life. Just kidding, I got pretty drunk and said my goodbyes and staggered back to my hotel.
Currently stationed in Korea. I love it here.
@@e.a.2393 Yes, beautiful country, I traveled all over it for missions, and Koreans are friendly to Americans because of the war, but they can be stubborn. Ya just gotta learn how to deal with 'em. 70 years ago it was a purely agronomic economy. Hard scrabble, hard working farmers. Which, being mostly German from farm stock, I understand. I initially hated getting assigned to a mission in Korea because I hated it (I was stationed at Clark AB, Philippines), but it grew on me, and now I take the grandkids out for Korean BBQ! My dad also fought in Korea. He never talked about it, but I have some photos.

When I was stationed in Korea, ‘73’-74, street vendors sold giant onion rings - a jumbo sized French fry type bag for 100 won - a quarter back then! Arguably these were the best onion ring I’ve EVER eaten. I actually pine for them. BTW: Unlike so many close minded GIs, I tried everything and ate everything while I was there. I was very lucky to have a “nuna” or Korean big sister who was my personal guide while I was there.She was a college student who my roommate fell in love with - extremely rare for an American boy to find a “good girl”, back then.
100 won is like 8 cents in today’s money.
It’s even more rare to find a “good girl” now, especially in the US.
He made so much effort to make this episodes in Busan Korea. Hope he can come to Korea again to make another episodes on his main channel
