I feel like everyone is misunderstanding this video. This is not about who is the "best" team, it's about how impressive the path they got there was. For example, us NJ Devils fans would consider strength of rosters of teams to be 1. 2000, 2. 2003, 3. 1995 (with 2001 as everyone's favorite if they had won!). But the 2003 team finished #2 in the East, played one true top team (#1 Ottawa), one Cinderella story (Anaheim) and two teams 15 to 21 points bellow them in the standings. On the other hand 2000 played the defending Cup champions Stars, came back down 3-1 against the Flyers (#1 team in the East), took down a 100 point Toronto team and swept a strong 98 point Panthers team. Even more impressive, the 1995 Devils were #5 in the East, while defeating #4 Boston & #3 Pittsburgh in 5 games a piece, outmatched the Legion of Doom #2 Flyers then swept the Presidents Trophy winning Detroit Red Wings.
@@jackhollingsworth4808 Still doing fully get why they were so low. After that I said well the Caps have to be on the first row then. The argument that he used for the 92 Pens and the 2015 Haws was very similar. All good though, opinions are opinions. I think it was just how much of a forgone conclusion of the Wings winning that year as long as they got past the Avs. I wonder how many more cups those two teams would have gotten if they didn't have to play each other.
@@jackhollingsworth4808 Explanation doesn't cut it. From a Leaf's fan, I have no clue how you have those Detroit teams that low, even with your explanation. They faced some tough teams (Colorado, Pens, Vancouver), and steam rolled through the playoffs. Lost 6/22 games in 2008 and 7/23 games in 2002. Meh to each their own but those were some of the most dominant teams, from players, to coaching to leadership. They had it all.
I miss hockey. This was good, thank you shannon. I can't wait for the runner up video, I have a soft spot Giguere's Ducks and Luongos Canucks, two teams absolutely willed to the cusp of a championship by their goalies. Such amazing heroics should not be forgotten.
Hoping to see the 2014 Kings higher. Yes we knew what they were capable of, but they were only a 6 seed, overcame a 3-0 deficit in round 1, and won 3 straight game 7s on the road, including an unforgettable double-OT game 7 in Chicago to cap off one of the greatest playoff series of the 2000s. To be fair the Final was comparatively anti-climactic.
No special effects or graphics or anything exciting but I’m just hooked on everything Shannon puts on his white board. This channel is awesome and another good idea from the hockey guy
For the 2014 kings, everyone knew whoever won the Chicago-L.A. series was gunna win it all. Not saying the team wasn’t good, but the hawks kings series was a tougher battle than the cup final. All the way to game 7 overtime.
I'm a Pens fan and I agree that those Red Wings teams were better than both of those Pens teams. I remember feeling from the 2008 final that as a fan that I was just happy to be there. I couldn't believe that the team played that well where they almost forced a game 7. Those Detroit teams were beasts
That 08 wings team outclassed the pens badly. As a frustrated 16 year old pens fan at the time, I couldn’t believe how it seemed like the Wings won every puck battle and shut down the pens top 6 in the neutral zone time and time again. We got outplayed in the 09 final as well, but thankfully Jordan Staal existed in games 3 and 4 and Brad Stuart existed in game 7 (sorry for the PTSD if you’re a wings fan lol). I’d say that order should be flipped.
One of the great things about the 2015 Blackhawks was that they played 2 and a half rounds of hockey with basically 4 defensemen. Rozsival broke his leg against the Wild and Timonen barely played 10 minutes most nights. We split time mostly between Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson, and Oduya. Keith averaged 31 minutes of ice time for the entire playoffs. That's insane. Outside the top 4 nobody averaged more than 9 minutes of ice time
2012 playoffs Quick was the greatest goaltending performance stretch to date, JSG in 2003 or whenever was also really impressive but you could have taken Drew Doughty and Alec Martinez away and the kings probably still win it
They won every single series without home ice, in terms of incredible runs that’s my number 1, in terms of which team I’d bet to beat the rest, the 2012 Kings
Lots of effort. Thanks for all that you do. The 2011-12 Kings also were the 8th seed in the conference and the road team each round and went 16-4 in four rounds. Kings fan since mid 70's
As a Pens fan, it’s insane to put the 17 team ahead of the 16 team. The 16 team got hot late in January and never cooled off. On most nights they dominated the other team on the stat sheet and the scoreboard. Going into the playoffs, their advanced stats were insane for a team that started so poorly that year. Then even come playoff time they outplayed the Rangers badly, outplayed Washington, got tested by Tampa but prevailed, and decimated San Jose. If you look at some of those victories statistically, it’s insane how badly they outplayed elite teams, with that cup final against San Jose being the best example. The 17 team on the other hand had no Letang and played a much more collapse defensively and score on the rush style of hockey. They blocked shots, Fleury and Murray bailed them out big time against Washington and Nashville respectively, and they barely survived a conference final against a very mediocre Ottawa team. Heck, even though the Columbus series ended 4-1 PIT, Columbus had the better of the play in most games. Bobrovsky just cratered while Fleury stole the show. The 17 team should have been in the top 5 or 10 weakest cup champs, not the top 10 best. The 16 team at 9 would seem relatively accurate to me.
"Mediocore team" we had the best player on the planet at the time in erik karlsson, Solid Wingers(stone hoffman ryan brassard etc) and good all round depth. Plus one of the goals in game 7 happened on a powerplay that shouldnt have been called cause phil took a dive that the ref someone thought was a penalty
Jack McLaughlin Going into 2016-2017, the preseason oddsmakers had Ottawa’s point total at o/u 83.5. Your roster was deep, but compared to the rest of the East, it wasn’t that talented. You guys played a 1-3-1 that was annoying for teams to play against and Erik Karlsson had one of the best playoff runs in history. The Pens-Sens series could have gone either way, but that doesn’t change the fact that both the Senators and the Pens without Letang were mediocre teams who rode 1 hot player to the conference finals (Fleury in our case, Karlsson in yours).
@@killhouse6130 Impressive and best are different quantifiers, but yeah, I can see how someone could say winning the second of b2b cups without your best dman is the more impressive feat.
The '92 final was the first NHL game I watched (I was only 12) and is where I became a Hawks fan. What makes the Pens run even more impressive is that Chicago had set a record for consecutive playoff wins but we were still swept in the final.
My Pens played their asses off against them that year but the Wings were just so damn good and experienced. I think playing SUCH a good, tough team like Detroit taught the Pens what it would take the next year, and Detroit had slipped a tad by then too. Those were both great series though
I resent the idea that a "shortened" season means the cup is easier to win and therefore doesn't count. That is essentially saying that the other teams weren't trying and weren't in the same situation. If anything a shortened season makes it harder since every team is at their best
Man, what an impressive video! I just love your enthusiasm for the game and how unbiased you are in all your videos. With that being said, I think that 2002 Red Wings team was the absolute best. Cheers from Michigan!
I MASSIVELY disagree about the 2002 Red Wings. All of their Western Conference opponents were very formidable. Vancouver with the West Coast Express line as an OPENING round team? That was a very good eighth seed, and after an admittedly slow start, the Red Wings went right through them in six. They also only took five games to go through St. Louis with Chris Pronger, who was only two years off a Hart Trophy. They also took out a defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado in a tough series, but a 7-0 win in Game 7. Carolina was a fairly weak Stanley Cup Final opponent. Probably the stronger team from the East that year would have been Boston or Toronto. But they still went through them in five. It was never really in doubt. This, on top of the fact that the team has 10 Hall of Famers or future Hall of Famers and also ran through the regular season as a one seed, with 15 more points than the next highest team in the entire league. That's unique even by the standards of Cup champions.
I actually STATED in this very video I didn't care how many hall of fame talents were on a roster because that weighs against recent champs and then you have to factor in whether those HOF players were all primary reasons for the win.
@@TheHockeyGuy Fair enough. I think the criteria of how much elite talent is on the roster is actually extremely relevant though. Even if you don't factor in Hall of Fame per se, you can still compare Pietrangelo and Tarasenko and compare them to Messier and Coffey, even if those two St. Louis Blues aren't yet in the Hall of Fame. It's a fun list that's ultimately subjective in the end, but as a hockey fan, I was a little surprised by the Red Wings being that low. It's great to get a reply from you by the way. I really like your channel. :)
@@TheHockeyGuy Even so, the 2002 Red Wings beat the HOTTEST team (Vancouver) heading into the playoffs (13-2-1 in their last 16 games just to squeak in, 24-9-3 in their last 36) in the FIRST round. Then the team tied for the 4th most wins in the SECOND round (St. Louis) Then the team with the 2ND most wins in the NHL, and the Defending Stanley Cup Champions (Colorado).....
I think titling of the vide could better align with the rankings provided: The most dominant Stanley Cup runs. This would be reinforced by those 2nd of back to back teams being placed above as well as the apparent emphasis placed on sweeps/winning streaks therein.
Imo it will for awhile be the 2012 Kings. Only team to go up 3-0 in every series, they went 11-1 on the road, they knocked off all of the division winners in the west, and I believe Quick set the record for best save percentage by a cup winning goalie.
I'd argue that the 2013 Boston-Chicago final was the most entertaining series. I agree though, you should do a power rankings for that too. We have the time to watch!
Oilers fan here. VERY good list. Only teams that look out of place are 2012, LA, who I'd move down to 11th, 1996 Colorado, who I'd move up to 6th and 2007 Anaheim, who I'd move up to 7th. That Anaheim team not only had the best 1 -2 punch on the blueline that I've ever seen since I began watching hockey in the 80's; it also had a back-up goalie put up great numbers in 5 playoff games plus 3 incredible weapons up front in Getslaf, Perry and Selane. They also sported what I believe to be the best checking line I've ever seen in a playoff run. That team was nearly indestructible.
As a young Minnesota Wild fan who has unfortunately not had that satisfaction yet of saying that the wild are cup champs heres my opinion. Most impressive champs on that board 2018-19 St Louis Blues that was a special team to be down and out in December and start of January and then flip a switch win 11 in a row and then just have an excellent last half of the season was amazing and Binnington coming out of nowhere that was special to watch some of my favorite games of the stanley cup playoffs was from the 2019 season and some of them were blues games. That cup final against boston and the series against dallas was pure intensity and I enjoyed every moment of the 2nd round and the cup final
And being a penguins fan as my second team for the ladder half of about 8 years now and seeing them kinda going through the motions for the early 2010s and then winning in 2016 I was excited that was a good team but I thought 2017 was even better I enjoyed the finals against the preds wayyyy better and I gained some respect for the preds effort and I believe that those preds were a much stronger and tougher opponent than the sharks from just the year before, And that atmosphere of that nashville crowd CMON how can you not be entertained by that I thought it was so funny seeing the pens get absolutely run out of nashville for games 3 and 4 and seeing the crowd react to that was just awesome.
The reverse sweep should have gotten the 2014 Kings put higher because that is so difficult to do plus key games like game 5 and game 7 were on the road. Plus they played 3 road Game 7s to get to the Finals
Hey Shannon congrats on the success with the channel. I've been following since under 5k subscribers and will be with ya when you hit a million. Or whenever you get onto some major sports network.
Can you do a series for all star teams for each team? Like teams best c, lw, rw, d pair and goalie for each team based on their performance while they played for that team.
Now I see where you're going with this. The 1992 Pittsburgh Penguins Swept My Chicago Black Hawks and the Plays Became Highlights for The Jean Claude Van Damme Movie Sudden Death, even though it's not accurate, since, as mentioned Pittsburgh had Swept My Chicago Black Hawks, but, it was fun seeing all of these Hockey Players (Dirk Graham, Mario Lemieux, and others) in The Movie.
I remember seeing an interview with Brendan Shanahan saying something to the effect of, "The '97/'98 Wings would have beaten the shit out of the 2002 Wings."
The 08 Red Wings are top 5. Never faced elimination, 9 game winning streak, outshot opponents by the largest margin ever in the playoffs (+284), 2nd best playoff goal differential on this list, they only allowed 40 goals! 3 playoff hat tricks, 6 shorties, and they dominated every single round. How are they in the 20ds???
I love all of the Wings arguments over where they are being placed. I have the '98 team at #2, so there's no bias in how I came up with these. As always, there is a formula in place. Opinion has little to do with where teams ranked.
The Hockey Guy I know it’s a subjective opinion, and this is hilariously fun to do this. Just don’t understand how the best corsi team of all time who was in first place from the first game to the last doesn’t crack the top 5 👌🏻😀
My #1 93 habs (remembered that like it was yesterday) 11 overtime wins, roy was fantastic, LA was the favored team with Gretzky, and Mcsorley's stick call..what a memorable run.
It's a really tough comparison. I see a trend which makes sense. The top 3 all won the finals in sweeps, while 4 of the bottom 6 won in 7 games. Tampa Bay in 2004 and Dallas in 1999 both won with controversies involved.
As a caps fan, I was really happy when the Blues won because I looked at them as the Western conference version of Washington, a team that had really good players and teams but just couldnt get it done in the postseason (usually blocked by Chicago as we were with Pittsburgh).
Disagree with psoitioning on 89 flames....(i know ya know thos shannon but ya ever noti e how sone champs got pushed to brink of elimination and came back in series in rd 1 early and went on to win cup...(89 flanes vs canucks or 92 pitt down 3 to1 in gms vs caps or 93 Montreal losing gms 1 and 2 at home vs quebec b4 winnong 4 in a row...list goes on and on...way more of these! Isnt it neat????
the 2002 Detroit Red Wings should be #1. I don't understand how "strength of schedule" in the playoffs takes them down. They beat the 2nd and 4th best teams in the Western Conference playoffs (Colorado, and St. Louis) as well as the HOTTEST team coming into the playoffs (Vancouver) Vancouver was 24-9-3 in their last 36 games, and 13-2-1 in their last 16 heading into the Playoffs. Colorado had the second most wins in the NHL in 2001-02, and St Louis was tied for 4th most. Along with being the most talented team, they had to get through a TOUGH Western Conference.....
The '13 Blackhawks were more special than the '15: The "streak", the comeback against DET, the dispatching of the grueling Kings, 2 goals in 17 seconds...
Having the 2013 blackhawks listed as anything but the best blackhawks team ever should be a crime. They faced four other cup wins in their playoff run, only went to seven once, and won the presidents trophy. This team was simply the best in franchise history
That 01 Avs team I think should be higher, they lost one of best players in the world (Peter Forsberg), had to best a good St Louis team in 5 games and than they took out the defending Stanley cup champs with hall of famers like Scott Stevens, Scott Neidermayer, Martin Brodeur, Patrick Elias, Alexander Mogilny. Those are the hall of famers I can think of, but New Jersey had great players like Bobby Holik, Scott Gomez Petr Sykora, John Madden, Ken Daneyko.
I’m not quite sure what this video is. If it’s ranking the most talented cup champs then I agree with my caps ranking, right in the middle. But if it’s ranking the grueling path each team took and how impressive it was, then I would put the caps in the top 8 or top 5. Remember, they trailed every series. They went down 0-2 to the jackets and then won 4 straight. Tampa won 3 straight games and then we shut them out twice in a row. Then we kicked the Knights’ ass
Caps cup team was stacked. Top 6 had superstars and bottom 6 had guys like DSP, Eller, Connolly, burakovsky, who stepped up every game. No matter when they were down in a series they always ended up winning. No team was beating them
@@FA6543 Yes and it showed. Defensively they were much worse than the 2016 run. Consistently being outshot and they had a stretch in the finals where they didn't even get a shot on net for like 40 minutes (and they won that game). That run, ironically, is exactly why there's parity in the NHL. The Penguins should not have won the Cup in 2017, but they did.
great video as usual, thanks for making these videos they really help in these hard times. i have a recommendation for a video series, could you do a dissperial draft for each nhl team. you could have the top 20 regular players plus 5 extra shakers and 5 prospects. i think it could be interesting to see which player went taken first and which one went 30. i think with salary, age and production you could see some players go higher or lower than expected.
As a Wings fan since the mid 90s, I understand the 2008 teams rank, but I would really like to hear your math on the 2002 team, I feel like they should be higher because they dominated, but I can understand how they were heavy favorites. Just would like to see how you did that rating. Thanks for another great video Shannon, keep up the great work!
The Pens did go on a run in 92, but the winning streak you mention might be the 93 pens - 17 game win streak. Also if David Volek doesn’t score, and the Pens win in 93 they’re the best team of all time. At least on that board. People want to say ‘11 Canucks are the best team to not win a cup, ‘93 Pens say “hold my beer”
The 14' Kings weren't dominant but put 4 absolutely tremendous playoff series together, the reverse sweep against the Sharks, first ever playoff meeting between the Kings and Ducks, the Kings-Hawk's classic and quite possibly the best most competitive 5 game series ever in the finals, great hockey all around but definitely not dominating
Completely disagree about the 2014 Kings.. came back from 3-0, beat a very good Ducks & Blackhawks team.. with a tough finals against a very deep Rangers team, that was pretty close despite being a 5 game series. Very impressive run imo.
I'm obviously biased, but with Detroit in 2002, they went 0-for-April and lost games 1 and 2 to Vancouver before flipping the switch and playing to their potential of Hall of Fame hockey. And in 2008 when Chris Osgood takes over for Hasek and wins his second Cup ten years after his first. (has anyone else ever had multiple Cups over 10 years beside Roy?) Those are great stories, but I agree the teams were so good that in hindsight, winning the Cup wasn't a shock. But 1998! C'mon! They lose Konstantinov and Vernon, and still repeat?!
You're absolutely correct about The 2012 kings, they could beat anyone on that board in a seven game series. That would be a very interesting topic for you to do..
If you're taking suggestions for video ideas, I think it would be interesting to examine something like "most dramatic drop offs of production/hit by the aging curve" video. I know you did a "flash in the pan" one before, and I think looking at people like say Rod Brind'Amour who seemed to defy age and then just hit a wall would be cool.
Idea for a fun video: "Player's who hasn't won a Stanley cup, (not just current players but historically) and who would "deserve" it the most. Thinking like a top 15 or something. Counting games played, captaincy, team loyalty and so on. Love the content. Greetings from Sweden.
As a Hawks fan I think the series vs Anaheim in 2015 was the best series I've ever watched and the finals were the best I've ever seen as well (slight bias). It was slightly painful to see your #1 pick
2012 LA Kings number 1 for best team to win. 2014 LA Kings number 1 for most incredible run. Won three game 7s on the road and a short but intense final. Dallas Stars way too low. Back to back presidents trophy winners, best defense in the league by far, had to beat Salo, Fuhr, Roy and Hasek to lift cup, best goalies of that era. I’d put them somewhere between 10-20. I think this is a case of Shannon trying too hard to not be homer 😄
I 100% agree with us at 15. We were no doubt a great roster top to bottom but definitely had those scares against Columbus and Tampa Bay. No doubt though we are a top 15.
Would love to see that video of best ever finals video..so hard to do since always seems like one average team gets hot thru 3 rds then fades out badly in finals..but i have all finals games play by play in beta and VHS and dvd from 1973 to present and my fav to watch by far is 1984 oilers vs islanders..old going out and new coming in so to apeak! And my fav games of all them is... 3. Gm1 of 2006 finals 2. Gm4 of 1992 finals 1. Gm4 of 1978 finals Just fyi lol.
There are a lot of subjective opinions in this comment section for a video I amde with an hour and a half of data I went over to leave my subjective opinions out of it.
you said you wouldn't hold the strike shortened season against the '13 hawks, but you only ranked them 17th? that was the best team ive ever seen. they only lost 7 games! and none of their playoff series went to game 7. two words: 17 seconds
I listened to your reasoning on the 2002 Red Wings and I still don't get it. What was the reasoning behind this list if not just how good the teams were? Is that not what Power Rankings are?
If datsyuk didn’t miss the first 5 games of the 09 final, I think the series would have already been over. They were up 3-2 when he came back but he was probably at 40%. If he doesn’t get hurt against Chicago, he’s a totally different player and probably what they needed to finish the series in 4 or 5. Then fleury stood on his head and single handedly won the series. Both years the wings outplayed the pens. Unfortunately they had babcock as their coach lol. The 08 and 09 teams were loaded and dragged down by babcock.
Man I wish the Hawks won that 2014 WCF. Imagine cups in ‘10, ‘13, ‘14, and ‘15. Would have been an unheard of stretch of hockey this day in age. That was arguably their second best team also, but they just could not get the puck behind Jonathan Quick.

Outside the top 4 nobody averaged more than 9 minutes of ice time
2012 playoffs Quick was the greatest goaltending performance stretch to date, JSG in 2003 or whenever was also really impressive but you could have taken Drew Doughty and Alec Martinez away and the kings probably still win it
I am a Kings fan. I appreciate the respect on Quick but the Kings win zero Cups without Doughty.
Interesting that you didn't mention the Game 7s and reverse sweep from own 0-3 for the 2014 LA Kings
Thinking the exact same thing. The 2016 team truly felt like the best team in the league while the 2017 team needed a lot of bounces to go their way.
I think winning a cup without your best d man is impressive and should be higher because of it
@@killhouse6130 Impressive and best are different quantifiers, but yeah, I can see how someone could say winning the second of b2b cups without your best dman is the more impressive feat.
The '92 final was the first NHL game I watched (I was only 12) and is where I became a Hawks fan. What makes the Pens run even more impressive is that Chicago had set a record for consecutive playoff wins but we were still swept in the final.
it wasn't impressive at all. They should've lost in the first round to Washington.
@@alexolds9840 lmao. Mario had 17 points in 6 games against Washington. Single handedly beat them
love the Pens gear here
Fantastic idea for a video. A question I never thought I had
2008 wings imo are the best team post lockout
My Pens played their asses off against them that year but the Wings were just so damn good and experienced. I think playing SUCH a good, tough team like Detroit taught the Pens what it would take the next year, and Detroit had slipped a tad by then too. Those were both great series though
I resent the idea that a "shortened" season means the cup is easier to win and therefore doesn't count. That is essentially saying that the other teams weren't trying and weren't in the same situation. If anything a shortened season makes it harder since every team is at their best
Can we get a revised list please?Since my team won back to back since you made this.
Awesome job! Any list with the Pens at number one is a solid list. That was probably the best team of all time.
@@matthewdaley746 2008, and the 1997 Wings were better, 2001 Avs had an entire starting lineup of hall of famers
@@koolaidman2702 Lemieux and Jagr are both better than any HoF player those teams boasted.
I think shannon is trying to make people mad
Yeah, I spent an hour and a half pouring over numbers and records just to make people mad.
@@TheHockeyGuy yeah I know. also it was a great video
Linden Wheatley He's what you call a glutton for punishment ... but don't worry, no anger from me. To each his own :D
Love my Sunday morning routine. Coffee and Power Rankings. Thanks Shannon!
Was getting worried there wasn't going to be a video today. Thank you for the amazing content, especially over the past month
Thank you for a fascinating and unique analysis!
2010 playoffs were incredible
'94 Rangers won the Presidents Trophy and Stanley Cup which is rare. They should be ranked higher than 25 I feel.
I factored in strength of opposition, losses along the way and the overall run the teams had.
“Thank god we finally have the St. Louis blues as Stanley cup champions so we can end that conversation” cheers to that 🍻
Never have I been so happy to see the Blues magnet on your board. Could have been 30 and it wouldn’t have mattered a bit.
Why am I watching this? It's just depressing... Anybody arguing over the placement of their team in this are just spoiled lol
Brett Donaghue hahahah facts! They need to be grateful lmao
Perhaps it’s not that we’re spoiled, it’s that your abused.
12:47 - "you could play it on the moon" i see you're giving the NHL more expansion ideas
Nice video. My winners are Detroit 2002 Hašek Shanahan Chelios Yezrman Fedorov Larionov Lindström Robitaile Hull Draper Datsyuk Holmström
Caps cup team was stacked. Top 6 had superstars and bottom 6 had guys like DSP, Eller, Connolly, burakovsky, who stepped up every game. No matter when they were down in a series they always ended up winning. No team was beating them
I would actually flip the 2016 and 2017 Penguins. Obviously very similar teams, but I think the 2016 team was a little more complete.
Going back to back in the cap era is exceedingly difficult. I found the 2017 run more impressive for that reason.
Danny McGervey they played without Letang as well
@@FA6543 Yes and it showed.
Strength of opposition metric basically punishes teams with better regular seasons since they draw the weaker teams in the first two rounds.
As a Canucks fan please dont do a finalist power rankings. 2011 haunts me
luke Quinlan 2004 haunts me aswell
great video as usual, thanks for making these videos they really help in these hard times. i have a recommendation for a video series, could you do a dissperial draft for each nhl team. you could have the top 20 regular players plus 5 extra shakers and 5 prospects. i think it could be interesting to see which player went taken first and which one went 30. i think with salary, age and production you could see some players go higher or lower than expected.
Couldn’t agree more and i disliked those ’14 Kings strongly
But i would rather face the ’12 Kings any day of the week
Blackhawks 2013 at #17 for 17 seconds 😎
"we've been through this, I don't even know your name" lol
02 Red Wings should be #1... That team was LOADED
As a Hawks fan I think the series vs Anaheim in 2015 was the best series I've ever watched and the finals were the best I've ever seen as well (slight bias). It was slightly painful to see your #1 pick
I like how the ref-assisted 2009 cup is more impressive than 2008.
#YesImStillSalty
Watching this after the lightning’s back to back cups. Wondering where you world rank them 🤔
138k. Whoo hoo! Thanks for all you do.
Great video, Shannon. But I would put up higher 2014 LA and 2018 Washington.
3. Gm1 of 2006 finals
2. Gm4 of 1992 finals
1. Gm4 of 1978 finals
Just fyi lol.
As a canes fan people always put down the 06 win but a win is a win doesn’t matter how you get there or who with
i believe the 2012 kings had a 3-0 lead in every series.
Almost blew it in round 1 lol
@@andrewburney8075 They beat Vancouver in 5 games in round 1?

I needed something to listen to while I shave, thanks!
Id take the 2010 and 13 Hawks over a lot of the teams you had higher than them. 2008 Detroit is also the best cap era team ever and should be higher.
Randy Randerson LOL
Nice video, you should do power rankings for the best runner up teams that lost in the Cup Final for fun

Surprised at the Pens ones! As a Pens fan I've always ranked our teams as 2016, 2009, and then 2017 in last
They fired their coach in the middle of 09 and 16. That’s gotta count for something.
How are the blues 20th? Looking at all the teams they should’ve at least cracked top 10 at the least top 5 at most
