England police only have 10% that carry guns and I believe they work in a special or dangerous situation. England has less crime than we do
This is part of the upside down clown world we are living in right now. You can walk into a Walgreens in CA and walk out with $999 worth of goods without paying, shoot up drugs in an open air market and nothing at all happens or you can bail out immediately after beating a person and then go on to knock out cold a random total stranger. But if you are in a National park picking up garbage and in a situation where the mud is so bad you will get stuck if you try to move your RV, you can be tazed and arrested because you stayed more than 14 days. That cop was ridiculous and let his ego run the show.
Those forest Pigs don't play. Generally, they're tyrants with over inflated sense of importance. They dragged a bunch of us many many miles out of the woods for smoking a joint. Literally deep in the woods with NO ONE around and they spied on us till we lit a joint. Waited til it was passed around and swooped in to arrest us all at gunpoint. Made us hike out to take us to jail. It was bonkers. Many more stories. As a Rainbow Gathering weirdo bitd we dealt with them alll the time.
@@morninglift1253 Actually, I now identify as more conservative 😉 and you might be surprised at how many of us are against bad policing like this because the news would have you think otherwise. I was a born and raised liberal lefty whose mom was a civil rights ally in the 1960’s. We were raised in all things lefty (think listening to Free To Be You and Me as kids). But we all no longer identify that way because of how the left now legislates and acts (I actually think the left is now more tyrannical than the right, more into mandates and censorship, for instance). It greatly surprises us to find our same values and beliefs now put at at right of center in this new world. I have come to see how self-righteous and closed-minded I was toward other viewpoints, particularly anyone who was “conservative” all the while thinking I was on the side of the open-minded, freedom loving, rights supporting. I know a lot of other “conservative” people who would think this cop and the whole situation was ridiculous and unnecessary. So now I see it much less as a division between left/right conservative/liberal and more of unity between people who are for freedom and against tyranny.

40 odd years ago I went to work in Texas with a view to living there full time. The local diner where we had lunch was often visited by police officers who regularly put their arsenal of hand guns and shotguns on the table before eating, even with children in the restaurant. On another occasion I went to put gas in a truck I was using. At the time, in the UK it was normal to pull up to the gas pump, dispense the gas then go into the cashier and pay. New to the USA, I tried this but the pump wouldn't dispense. Next thing I knew, I was being shouted at by a cashier from the doorway of the shop pointing a shotgun at me. Only after a discussion and showing my UK passport was this defused. What a messed up society you have. I have watched a few of these videos and the theme seems to be - I have a gun so I will bully you. The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, I don't think so...

Ridiculousness. I've worked for 13 different communities over my years. Everyone of them had a budget over 50 % of the local tax revenue. I have camped at many campgrounds with a 14 day limit, and many had a docent or other volunteer camper who stayed there the entire season. They often collected the fees, picked up garbage, and enforced the 14 day limit, but usually did so very gently. If you needed help or information, they provided it, and often let me know when the ranger was going to be by in case I had overstayed my time by a couple of days. A little kindness goes a long way, and these cops should learn that.
In 1990, age 25, I came to realize a few things. One was that police were being trained as a military unit and we,the public were and still are ,the enemy. I know an Andy Griffith approach will not work in many occasions, but it wouldn't be a bad place to start. Most anyone is calmer and reasonable when they feel heard. That is the major failure I see in most of these interactions, the cop doesn't listen or at least pretend to do so.
Cop, "you just told me" Never tell them anything. Lawyer up. Charitable actions, like picking up litter, mention that. If you're actually a member of the non profit organization, don't most of those organizations have lawyers?
I haven't seen any figures on it, but given that a lot of non-profits are quite small, often volunteer run organisations, I would imagine that a pretty large number would not have legal representation unfortunately.
Brand new subscriber here. 10 days ago I totaled my car. I was fine, and just wanted to call our insurance co. for a free tow. However, a LEO arrived on scene. He asked if I take any meds. I said, "yes, I have left temporal lobe epilepsy, and I take seizure control meds." *He then detained me and said, "I'm considering taking you in on a DUI."* I couldn't believe it. My meds aren't a narcotic, and if I don't take them, a seizure could potentially kill me. If I was driving and that happened, I could kill other innocent people. His attitude was so similar to the attitude of the LEO in Mr. Headrick's experience. In the end, *I de-escalated the LEO's aggression* with tactics I've learned as a trained prison volunteer. *take care, hun. Peace* 💜💗💜

The greatest irony of all is that by letting people off small infractions with warnings you actually get greater trust in police and public support for them. One of the greatest resources police have in solving major crimes is a trusting public willing to help. Break that trust and you just have an occupying force with all its attendant issues.

I had a few officers that were friends, and I would say that they were good cops. But yo listen to them talk about what they did to people and to laugh about it is beyond the normal acts of cruel and unnecessary treatment to another human.
I knew cops at my ex wife's family gatherings showing off pics of people after they've been shot dead, on their personal cell phones which who knew could have been foia requested. Really wish I knew that back then, who knows what all they were all really into.
You would say they are god cops, but then the next sentence you talk about them laughing about being cruel to people. I think that says a lot more about you, than it does about them.

Don't take away the jobs that our federal employees are supposed to do. How dare you! The federal govt employee has deemed that trash to be part of the environment around him.
I'm getting to point where I can totally see his point about them wanting to Close the land to the public. Some ULTRA environmentalists absolutely believe that humans shouldn't exist. If that means allowing a beautiful area to be desecrated in the meantime, then that is acceptable justifiable means. Meanwhile, many of us want to appreciate and enjoy the natural areas that are public lands and not able to be "settled."
Maybe the Policing Culture in America needs to shift to something more like the Soldiers and Firefighters who sacrifice their own safety for the individual citizens they interact with AND for.? Unfortunately it's Them versus US and they determine who is with Them.
How come the police are always fine to bend the rules for other police officers? But he can’t bend them for a person which appears to be doing the right thing. Using less then lethal force to get someone to comply was unacceptable. I can hear the IA, we found no wrong doing by our officer.
If they incarcerate everyone, who will the police arrest? Sometimes I wonder if police take the attitude that everyone but them should be in jail but they just haven't found enough evidence yet.

I'm a fellow Nomad who always tries to leave my free camp in better condition when I leave, then it was when I arrived. I try to also send that same message to my RUclips viewers on my channel. Steve has talked with me many times, over many campfires, about his idea of the organization he created called "Pin The Trash" to have a way for everyone to help do thier part to keep the forests clean, so they can stay open. Even if they lack certain means, like a way to haul it out (which Steve helps with by providing that trailer in the video & hauling it away himself). Through his app you just pin the pile & Steve can go himself, or send one of his volunteers to haul it out. It was a brilliant idea from the start & I've been 100% behind him on it since. Including attending the event he organized last Nov in Ehrenberg to help get the word out about the App. He has done nothing but try to help keep these areas clean & open for all, most of the time at his own expense. What was done to him by this police officer is appalling! Most good policeman, I have respect for, but that one... acted like a waitress on a power trip. There was absolutely no reason for him to tase Steve. Steve is not an aggressive person by nature & wasn't showing any sign of being hostile to this officer. Definitely not justified to taser him! I'm so glad y'all did this video for him. He needs to get justice for this policeman abusing his badge. Just a reminder, there's a reason on the side of Police cars it used to say "Protect & Serve". The supreme court and the 11th circuit court has consistently ruled police have no constitutional or legal requirements to protect and serve. 😉 Cleaning up the parks is 👍.. but this also reminded me of another famous old saying... No good deed goes unpunished. 😆
"We've had several complaints already" he said and then went right into proving he was enforcing the move on the basis that he told him he had been there over 14 days. That tells me there were no complaints and he just said that. Steve laughed about that bc he knew there were no complaints bc he'd been out there and knew there weren't many folks there who would complain, and why would anyone complain anyway, How would they know how long he'd been there unless hey had been there longer than he had?

We need police.. but not the ones we have now. Police use to be police to help people. Now its power and money most police earn around 100k
I've seen a Mesa Arizona LEO make almost 300k, plus overtime and other benefits. Reform not defund. Get rid of most of them and replace with, intelligent, and caring cops. POLICING WHILE BUZZED IS DRUNK POLICING. Aggressive, belligerent, confrontational, unpredictable deep nasty vodka voices.

Low-IQ conservatives are taking over our country. It's called an idiocracy.
Common sense has no place in an over zealous law enforcement person

This cop has endangered this man and he should pay out the but for this crap.
Man, you have to be crazy to even put yourself around cops.
They’re insane.
camped there many times.. police and rangers are very very aggressive ..public land that they are now allowing to be sold off to the rich home builders behind closed doors...
If you have bad knees the cops have no reason to have you get on your knees .
They throw pregnant women to the ground on their belly’s with knees in their back, do you think a cop cares if you have bad knees 😢
Cops may not care if I have bad knees I would not get down on my knees and the thing insists I will sit down . Tell them you have to get me up I cannot move
@@jonathangoodwin646 they'll throw you down and drag you...
Do not smoke Marijuana in a National Park! Learned that one the hard way😬
A big question here Is the 14 day stay limit actually a law or just a rule?
I do not believe it is actually a law
. I believe it is a policy and Rule they came up with and is not supported by any law.
How bout the fact that the lady in the video offered to give the cop his ID but the cop didn't want to hear that.
Good Job
If they wanna act like the people are the enemy, it's only a matter of time before they will oblige. People have a right to defend themselves, and maybe they should start.
I don't know why you ask him to report when the police ain't getting back to people that quick..they like to delay so people will not follow through.
As soon as a cop orders someone on the ground for zero actual reason, I'd be calling 911.
“I don’t answer questions” would have served him much better.
What part of the cop didnt understand hes stuck an vouldnt leave? He wasnt refusing. Like this cop wants dude to change the weather. Like its a possible Thing to-do. He hasnt refused to leave. But John wayne over here just has to make that dollar an arrest someone an go hands on for no reason. Other then he wouldnt luck his booy. What a pig.
You give a man a uniform and a weapon and then he abuses both, to put it mildly.
shea stadium ...... *No ..... give a WEAK man a uniform and a weapon and then he abuses both!*
Taya, There was a cop in Alleghany County, Va who was to pick up and drop off a man at a hospital with mental disabilities. The cop didn’t want to perform the duty and when he arrived at the hospital he dumped the man on the doorstep and left. It was reported that this man stood outside for hours. This situation has been covered up and the cop is reported to still be working.
That was well put and it's exactly what goes on the way you put that all together I I'm amazed but it is exactly I mean to the letter of what goes on in this country they have people so afraid of the boogeyman since 9/11 and don't even get me started on 9/11 but I live in Pittsburgh and they act like it's so dangerous here I walked the streets two three in the morning and there's nothing going on no one bothers you it's safe but they've got cops I mean everywhere they have cops in the hospitals they've got cops in the projects they have cops in the colleges they have cops for the bus the port authority I mean if people don't know we live in a police state it says if there's a small army here in Pittsburgh because there is with nothing to do but right around and f*** with people it's pathetic right now I just want to thank you and your bored are you guys doing amazing job oh boy I hope it changes but I truly do
Cops in the kindergartens too.
Deplorable!
Woah that closing monologue! Superb!
Thank you Taya and Steve
CAUTION! B.S. COMMERCIAL "Thread" below!
He should NOT have been tased. The officer obviously overreacted. The guy was doing a good service. BUT, why can't the guy either clean all the land he can in the allotted time, OR get prior approval to stay longer so as to prevent this mess. I DO NOT condone what the cop did, but I also feel the dude could have gone about things a little differently as well.
He paid for the land and served 2 decades...Who the f is a sworn servant to aggravated assault and batter torture and falsely imprison you when you are working in the park...F that pos terrorist with a badge and their false and malicious charges.....
What is this "common ground" of which you speak?
Took that tazer like a champ.
There is no way I'm letting the same tyrant cop do that to me 3 times. The third time the tyrant is going to come up missing.
WTF?
The cop problem got weird after 9-11. I can understand if the park was was booked with reservations for camping sights.
Complaints? I'm confused about how there could be complaints, How would Joe Camper know Joe Camper 2 is over the limit?
He lost me with his back the blue bs!
He's had authority worship drilled into him since at least his time in service, unfortunately he got some personal deprogramming.
Me also...I do not back habitually lying, oath breaking, murdering, armed robbing, TRAITORS......
Its not that we see so many bad cops; it's that we need to see them held accountable.
@@ThisIsF-dUp It's both, 1% OK, but I would say bad cops are around 50%
@@marcef100 I think you may have missed my point. There are good people and there are bad people; and this mixture gets into our local police department. Nothing we can do about it. So the necessity to hold cops accountable when they do bad actions must be paramount. Hence the need for transparency. If they don't show, we don't know. Good afternoon.
“Never argue with stupid cops. They will drag you down to their level and ”beat you” with experience.”
