Hi. I think Caramel is the most talented singer and artist in this small Central European country for over a decade. And he is a very nice person too, with very great musical humility. He came from one of the slums of the country with his own song ( I fly with the song ), in the Megastar. Which was a talent research contest for Hungary in 2005... which he has won! So far, he has released 7 studio albums, of which three are platinum LP and one is double platinum LP. And he has received numerous music awards too. He has given live music concerts three times, in front of 12000 fans in the country's largest arena. In this video features his 15th year anniversary concert featuring a 50 people symphony orchestraI. I really hope for someone coming soon and giving him the opportunity to become internationally known. Then the rest of the world will have the opportunity to put his songs in the hearts of music lovers people like the Hungarians. Because he already deserves it...
@@brazo0obraz622 I'm not a huge fan of this particular music genre (more of metal guy myself), but it's blatantly obvious that he is an excellent singer.
Yeah, he's a classic. Good job Beth in decyphering this one :) I love Caramel, his songs are sooo deep and sung like that, it's really a bliss to listen to. You should have a try to one of his studio recordings too. Live is very nice and shows definitely things people can not fake in a studio, but I feel quite a lot of subtleness was lost in the mixing. It's pretty darn difficult to mix such a live performance with so many players and vocalists. They all did a fantastic job there by the way. So many different styles, such an amazing precision.
Caramel is like what you said: he wants to show everything. Always. He is a fantastic talent, world class singer and songwriter. Sadly, he doesn't have the sense of holding his talent back and building an arch in his music and singing. He starts at the maximum and his throws everything at you, he decorates every single tone and cannot sing a straight sound. He cannot see that, his beautiful runs would sound way better if he gave us a little break between them. So in the end you get the "ok fantastic, but somehow too much" feeling. This symphonic version of his song is just an other station of breakless megalomania in his career, looks like he is more and more in love with his own voice and shouts "I am fantastic, can you all hear it?". I always wished him to calm down and believe that everyone knows he is incredible, he doesn't have to grab our heads and smash his talent into our faces every second he sings. He could be a real world class star if he would learn finally how to use his incredible talent in a more sane and balanced way.
Welcome to a Caramel concert feeling 😄 And his songs are all about musical, vocal and emotional adventures! Best singer of Hungary! This song especially is all coming from a vision he had of a war (can mean physical and spiritual war). So what you hear is pain and the expression of the vision he had.
Beth, would it be an additional factor If I would say this song is about "how easy to find some beauty for beloved hearts in the horror of a war"? It is about.
Hungarian songs not about style, but the message! Important to understand the lirycs. This song have very strong message, and Caramel is very talented singer too.
So here's the thing: I'm hungarian, but I'm not here because this is a hungarian song, but simply because I kind of got addicted to Beth's videos long ago. Why? Dunno. I don't sing. I have nothing to do with this whole thing. I'm just a simple human being generally interested in music I guess. And it's hard not to like Beth, who's always positive, always enthusiastic, well, you know, you're watching the same thing! To this specific case: I did not see this coming, what a coincidence. And for you, who read this for no good reason: have a lovely day! :)
As a Hungarian and a musican and I can tell you with out a doubt, that if Caramel would sing in english in the same way, he is world wide class act. He is writing his songs and play them on piano and he can't read sheet music. It just come naturally from him and in this level it is a big sign of pure talent. Also he is a super nice guy in real life, belive it or not, shy and don't belive him self to this day. A kind soul with a - bc of he is a gypsy come from a segregate school, where they don't mix the hungarians with "them". Even he is a bigstar in our country, you can stop him for a photo and he will talk to you too and he will feeling as like you are the one, who give the privilege for him.
@BethRoars that vibe is from Caramel's Gipsy roots mixed with his awesome style and character. He is a very very intelligent big hearthed and talented beside he is originally a self tought singer. He won one of the Singers Talent Shows "Megastar" in 2004...
I came here to defend Caramel based on the caption photo, but I was glad to hear that she appreciated his unique talent. She gave a great review. I'm glad, as he is one of my favourite artists.
Hi, If you now understand the lyric. This is very strong feel love, war, angels. I think a lot of people cry if understand. The Caramell wrote lyrics and music
Caramel is a great guy. Not only he's a great artist, but he resisted being turned into a political token (he's a Roma) during the 2000's, even if it set back his career and caused him to be cast aside for several years.

It is very nostalgic for me. His other song Lélekdonor is best. My dead mother listened it and its meaning is so deep. This song is with a deep meaning.
It's so interesting that you so close to understand the meaning of the song without speaking the language, this song is about contrasts. Having beautiful things in bad times like war, have a hug in the wind, burning stars ect. I really can't translate that...
This was recommended for me, because as a Hungarian I regularly search RUclips for people reacting to Hungarian foods, music, places, etc. But as an amateur singer, I think I will stay for the content. :)) Since you enjoyed this song, I would recommend Radics Gigi as well, she has a similar style and a strong classical and jazz training.
Me: reacts to Caramel - Jelenés? Hmmm nobody could say a wrong word to his voice after me: I said it! And I could hardly imagine, what would she say, if she could understand the lyric :D
You should see the lyrics also, it gives a loooot to the whole thing. Makes a lot more sense why it becomes so over the top at the end, why is it sooo dramatic.
5:45 wow you're picking things up beautifully even without knowing the full context or even without understanding the lyrics :) The singer is of Romani ethnicity and those little runs come from Romani folk music, if I am not mistaken. I might be. But you picked up on it really nicely! Also about the painful feelings

Lyrics 😢 I had a dream, a terrible vision. Even now, I feel like I’m going through a century. I don't understand why, I really don't understand why I don't cross? Believe me, I saw the war. Stars burned and darkness fell on everything. Eltiport prayers, broken-killed hugs remained only in the wake. I saw laughter in awful places, celestial apparition in scattered spaces, how many sobbing, fearful hugs, you and I were there. I saw myself, my heart is a battlefield. Heavenly armies fight for my soul, loud sobbing, crying hugs, you and I were there. A dream ... I saw the flames, Fateless life, kidnapped childhood dreams. The quiet footsteps of whispering hope are absorbed by silence. There is no word to describe this suffering, To understand life is a life too little! Look around and see! Maybe you used to live a nightmare! I saw laughter in awful places, celestial apparition in scattered spaces, how many sobbing, fearful hugs, you and I were there. I saw myself, my heart is a battlefield. Heavenly armies fight for my soul, loud sobbing, crying hugs, you and I were there. See the sky shine on you as tears fall! Get on with the angels and do not blind your soul! See what you don’t want: live the way you live in me Do not tear the wounds of the past and cover them with ease! I saw laughter in awful places, celestial apparition in scattered spaces, how many sobbing, fearful hugs, you and I were there. I saw myself, my heart is a battlefield. Heavenly armies fight for my soul, loud sobbing, crying hugs, you and I were there. paragraph 1, line 6: Smashed prayers. Paragraph 3, line 5: To understand life, a lifetime is not enough. (and also subsequent similar lines). Well done otherwise.
It was good to listen to your video. I love how the love of singing is visible on your face, can be heard in your comments. Caramel is a very good singer, but I think in his case less is more. He should sing more simple songs without overdecorating them and this way he could be great. Yeah, maybe it’s just my taste.
It is just your taste dude. This is classic R&B/Jazz/Funk singing of the nicest quality. Many have tried and many have failed at it. This guy is doing a pretty darn good job there.
Here is the lyrics in english : I had a dream, a horrible vision. I feel now also that hundreth time experience. I don't know why, really I don't know, why don't I crossed? Believe me, I see the war. Stars burned up and the darkness cloudy on every. Trampled prayers; a broken, destroyed embrace stayed only on his trace. I saw a laugh on terrible places, Celestial apparition shot to pieces on the square, How much sobbed, feared for an embrace, We were there, You and I. I saw myself, my heart is battlefield. Celestial armies' fight for my soul, loud sobbed, crying embraced, We were there, You and I. A dream... I saw the flames, The Fatelessness lives, the abducted children's dreams. The dumbness swallows the quiet step of a whispering hope. There are no words to describe this suffering, The life to understand a life also little! Look around and see it! Maybe that you live on the nightmare long ago! See it, onto you the sky glitters as this tears is falling! Get on with the angels, and your soul, don't be blinded by! See what you wouldn't like: live as you live in me You don't tear open the wounds of the past, and don't cover your tear! I saw a laugh on terrible places, Celestial apparition shot to pieces on the square, How much sobbed, feared for an embrace, We were there, You and I. I saw myself, my heart is battlefield. Intresting that you picked a hungarian singer :D Feri is one of the best pop singers at Hungary even if I prefer metal music I must admid hes voice is such a pleasure to listen. He have his little gypsy accent in his voice what makes the whole singing really cool and special :)I like him a lot
@Aboycalled nobody azért nem mindegy, hogy bot füled van e a zenéhez vagy nem. A szétstúdiózott/autotunolt rádiódalokon túl ő legalább tud élőben is villantósat.
Traditional Hungarian music (e.g. the oldest folk songs that have been preserved) is actually often strictly pentatonic with no semitones. Newer folk music is on a diatonic scale, so pretty standard as in other European music. I think it's likely his "little runs" are more influenced by jazz and r'n'b than something local

Believe me when I tell you, I have seen the war: The stars burned bright and darkness fell upon everything, Downtrodden prayers, broken and slaughtered embraces in its wake. I have seen laughter in terrible places, Heavenly visions in forsaken spaces, Countless sobs and fearful embraces, We were there, you and I. I saw myself, my heart a battlefield, The Heavenly Host fighting for my soul, Heavy sobs and fearful embraces, We were there, you and I. A fearful vision… I saw the flames, Ill-fated lives, stolen childhood dreams. The soft footsteps of whispering hope muffled by silence. There are no words to describe this suffering. A lifetime is not enough to make sense of Life. Look around and see! Maybe you’ve been living in a nightmare all along!

You should react to Freddie's Pioneer which was in the Eurovision. He's also Hungarian.
Ahh yeah! Or Viktor Kiraly.
Because he already deserves it...
tattooair inc yeah you are trippin’. Shitty gyppo music man. Terrible music
@@brazo0obraz622 I'm not a huge fan of this particular music genre (more of metal guy myself), but it's blatantly obvious that he is an excellent singer.
The most talented is Ákos!Caramel good too Gut Ákos has better better voice and has better sing technik
Every time I listen to this song I got shivers. The meaning behind the lyrics is really meaningful to the Hungarians.
Honestly I've never listened to him but he his amazing. The lyrics too
Im so proud of Caralmel he is so awesome he has the best voice.
This is great Caramel is one of the best talents in Hungary since I have been living here for 15 years. If you liked that try, Lélekdonor
100% agree
Welcome to a Caramel concert feeling 😄 And his songs are all about musical, vocal and emotional adventures! Best singer of Hungary!
This song especially is all coming from a vision he had of a war (can mean physical and spiritual war). So what you hear is pain and the expression of the vision he had.
Köszönöm szépen ezt a videót!Hajrá Magyarország!
Beth, would it be an additional factor If I would say this song is about "how easy to find some beauty for beloved hearts in the horror of a war"? It is about.

Brazo0o Braz no, hes not :D

So here's the thing: I'm hungarian, but I'm not here because this is a hungarian song, but simply because I kind of got addicted to Beth's videos long ago. Why? Dunno. I don't sing. I have nothing to do with this whole thing. I'm just a simple human being generally interested in music I guess. And it's hard not to like Beth, who's always positive, always enthusiastic, well, you know, you're watching the same thing! To this specific case: I did not see this coming, what a coincidence. And for you, who read this for no good reason: have a lovely day! :)
Viszont kívánok Neked is szép napot!
Even he is a bigstar in our country, you can stop him for a photo and he will talk to you too and he will feeling as like you are the one, who give the privilege for him.
i was in the first row on that concert. I’m glad you reviewed my favourite male hungarian rnb singer 💚
I'm a Hungarian musician and i live in New York..Can't wait Caramel to come to Manhattan. :)
Woohoo!
@BethRoars that vibe is from Caramel's Gipsy roots mixed with his awesome style and character. He is a very very intelligent big hearthed and talented beside he is originally a self tought singer. He won one of the Singers Talent Shows "Megastar" in 2004...
Wow, what a pleasure to watch this video. I am Hungarian and it's s nice to see this! ☺️🥰
I came here to defend Caramel based on the caption photo, but I was glad to hear that she appreciated his unique talent. She gave a great review. I'm glad, as he is one of my favourite artists.

Karamella
Hi, If you now understand the lyric. This is very strong feel love, war, angels. I think a lot of people cry if understand. The Caramell wrote lyrics and music
Caramel is a great guy. Not only he's a great artist, but he resisted being turned into a political token (he's a Roma) during the 2000's, even if it set back his career and caused him to be cast aside for several years.
Szia Tomcat, nem nyelvtannáciságból, de az helyesen "Not only is he a great artist..", mert ugye ez inverz szerkezet és felcserélődik a szórend.
És ráadásul ez elég angoltalan. He is not the only great artist. Ilyet olvastam már. Not only is he a great artist??? Ez meg mit akar jelenteni? 😲
@@Theworthsearcher Megkérném az angolul nem beszélőket, hogy hallgassanak, már csak az önégetés veszélye miatt... A hozzászólásom másold be a ChatGPT-nek, és kérdezd meg, helyes-e.

It is very nostalgic for me. His other song Lélekdonor is best. My dead mother listened it and its meaning is so deep. This song is with a deep meaning.
i’m hungarian but girl oh my god i love your voice so much, sending love
It's so interesting that you so close to understand the meaning of the song without speaking the language, this song is about contrasts. Having beautiful things in bad times like war, have a hug in the wind, burning stars ect. I really can't translate that...
This was recommended for me, because as a Hungarian I regularly search RUclips for people reacting to Hungarian foods, music, places, etc. But as an amateur singer, I think I will stay for the content. :))
Since you enjoyed this song, I would recommend Radics Gigi as well, she has a similar style and a strong classical and jazz training.
Honestly, you can't put them on the same scale though.
Me: reacts to Caramel - Jelenés? Hmmm nobody could say a wrong word to his voice
after
me: I said it! And I could hardly imagine, what would she say, if she could understand the lyric :D
You should see the lyrics also, it gives a loooot to the whole thing. Makes a lot more sense why it becomes so over the top at the end, why is it sooo dramatic.
My mother used to listen to Caramel a lot. Now I can see why...
O my goddddd as a Hungarian I'm so happy to see he even made it to be in a not Hungarian video 🥰😍😍😍
5:45 wow you're picking things up beautifully even without knowing the full context or even without understanding the lyrics :) The singer is of Romani ethnicity and those little runs come from Romani folk music, if I am not mistaken. I might be. But you picked up on it really nicely! Also about the painful feelings
Monumentálisabb zenét nem isválaszthatott volna a hölgy tőle! Ismerem egyébként ezt a csatornát nagyon sok énekesre reagált már! Nagyon fura érteni a zene szövegét a videójában! :)
Lyrics 😢
I had a dream, a terrible vision.
Even now, I feel like I’m going through a century.
I don't understand why, I really don't understand why I don't cross?
Believe me, I saw the war.
Stars burned and darkness fell on everything.
Eltiport prayers, broken-killed hugs remained only in the wake.
I saw laughter in awful places,
celestial apparition in scattered spaces,
how many sobbing, fearful hugs,
you and I were there.
I saw myself, my heart is a battlefield.
Heavenly armies fight for my soul,
loud sobbing, crying hugs,
you and I were there.
A dream ... I saw the flames,
Fateless life, kidnapped childhood dreams.
The quiet footsteps of whispering hope are absorbed by silence.
There is no word to describe this suffering,
To understand life is a life too little!
Look around and see! Maybe you used to live a nightmare!
I saw laughter in awful places,
celestial apparition in scattered spaces,
how many sobbing, fearful hugs,
you and I were there.
I saw myself, my heart is a battlefield.
Heavenly armies fight for my soul,
loud sobbing, crying hugs,
you and I were there.
See the sky shine on you as tears fall!
Get on with the angels and do not blind your soul!
See what you don’t want: live the way you live in me
Do not tear the wounds of the past and cover them with ease!
I saw laughter in awful places,
celestial apparition in scattered spaces,
how many sobbing, fearful hugs,
you and I were there.
I saw myself, my heart is a battlefield.
Heavenly armies fight for my soul,
loud sobbing, crying hugs,
you and I were there.
I saw laughter in awful places,
celestial apparition in scattered spaces,
how many sobbing, fearful hugs,
you and I were there
I translated with google translate so , maybe it's faulty!
paragraph 1, line 6: Smashed prayers. Paragraph 3, line 5: To understand life, a lifetime is not enough. (and also subsequent similar lines). Well done otherwise.
proud we have him :)

His style is more gypsy folk, he is gypsy, he is inspired from his culture. It's interesting how he mix it with modern pop music

Here is the lyrics in english :
I had a dream, a horrible vision.
I feel now also that hundreth time experience.
I don't know why, really I don't know, why don't I crossed?
Believe me, I see the war.
Stars burned up and the darkness cloudy on every.
Trampled prayers; a broken, destroyed embrace stayed only on his trace.
I saw a laugh on terrible places,
Celestial apparition shot to pieces on the square,
How much sobbed, feared for an embrace,
We were there, You and I.
I saw myself, my heart is battlefield.
Celestial armies' fight for my soul,
loud sobbed, crying embraced,
We were there, You and I.
A dream... I saw the flames,
The Fatelessness lives, the abducted children's dreams.
The dumbness swallows the quiet step of a whispering hope.
There are no words to describe this suffering,
The life to understand a life also little!
Look around and see it! Maybe that you live on the nightmare long ago!
I saw a laugh on terrible places,
Celestial apparition shot to pieces on the square,
How much sobbed, feared for an embrace,
We were there, You and I.
I saw myself, my heart is battlefield.
Celestial armies' fight for my soul,
loud sobbed, crying embraced,
We were there, You and I.
See it, onto you the sky glitters as this tears is falling!
Get on with the angels, and your soul, don't be blinded by!
See what you wouldn't like: live as you live in me
You don't tear open the wounds of the past, and don't cover your tear!
I saw a laugh on terrible places,
Celestial apparition shot to pieces on the square,
How much sobbed, feared for an embrace,
We were there, You and I.
I saw myself, my heart is battlefield.

Dear Beth, you surprised me... you react to a hungarian song... köszönöm ("thank you" in hungarian)!! ❤
We have so much great singer ❤️
From Hungary
Traditional Hungarian music (e.g. the oldest folk songs that have been preserved) is actually often strictly pentatonic with no semitones. Newer folk music is on a diatonic scale, so pretty standard as in other European music. I think it's likely his "little runs" are more influenced by jazz and r'n'b than something local

Below is my attempt at an English translation:
I had a nightmare, a terrible vision.
I feel it still, I’ve relived it a thousand times.
I can’t, I just can’t understand why I’m unable to overcome it.
Believe me when I tell you, I have seen the war:
The stars burned bright and darkness fell upon everything,
Downtrodden prayers, broken and slaughtered embraces in its wake.
I have seen laughter in terrible places,
Heavenly visions in forsaken spaces,
Countless sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
I saw myself, my heart a battlefield,
The Heavenly Host fighting for my soul,
Heavy sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
A fearful vision… I saw the flames,
Ill-fated lives, stolen childhood dreams.
The soft footsteps of whispering hope muffled by silence.
There are no words to describe this suffering.
A lifetime is not enough to make sense of Life.
Look around and see! Maybe you’ve been living in a nightmare all along!
I have seen laughter in terrible places,
Heavenly visions in forsaken spaces,
Countless sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
I saw myself, my heart a battlefield,
The Heavenly Host fighting for my soul,
Heavy sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
Watch as the sky radiates on you, as its tears pour down on you!
Soar with the angels, and don’t blind your soul!
See what you do not want to, live as you live inside me!
Don’t open your wounds of old, and don’t hide your tears!
I have seen laughter in terrible places,
Heavenly visions in forsaken spaces,
Countless sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
I saw myself, my heart a battlefield,
The Heavenly Host fighting for my soul,
Heavy sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
I have seen laughter in terrible places,
Heavenly visions in forsaken spaces,
Countless sobs and fearful embraces,
We were there, you and I.
