Hi my lovely Robin, thank you for your precise tutorials, and I need your help! For the life of me, and it's been a long one thankfully, I can't do the herringbone stitch neatly!! I've watched MANY tutorials, some different methods, BUT my brain just isn't/hands just aren't computing that knowledge into a neat overall look, so frustrating! I was wondering if you could do a video detailing precisely the process, and save me ripping/ribeting the last of my old lady hair out!! Many thanks!! Monica.

I just recently taught myself to crochet something more than just chains (which I learned as a little kid). Every time I tried to read patterns, or watch other people's videos, I felt stupid because I couldn't understand what they meant. But yours make sense. I've just finished a 5.5 foot scarf in the Wheatsheaf/Mini Arcade stitch as my VERY FIRST project thanks to your video on it and I'm here looking at this stitch to learn something new for a shawl for myself!

    • @HookedbyRobin

You definitely aren’t stupid Erin, I think people can definitely over complicate teaching crochet and anything creative really. I am just so glad my videos have helped you! A shawl in this would be wonderful.😃🥰

Re beginning and ending my rows😮. I am considered a reasonably intelligent person. Usually!!!
But always have trouble here. My rows get shorter or longer because I never know how to properly begin or end them. I’m not stupid 😢 I just never know what stitch to go into.
Most patterns tend to just glide right through this part assuming it’s just always known.
    Well it isn’t 😢😢

I was working on a slipper-boot pattern, and about halfway up the leg they wanted a butterfly/eyelash wool for four rows to add texture. I didn’t have any so looked for a bauble stitch pattern. This worked perfectly!!!
