Mannnnnnn I have a 2008 impala and this piece of shit KEEPS HAVING PROBLEMS , man i just broke down at the light today , LUCKILY it started up again but it took a good Minute , and I JUST BOUGHT A NEW CRACK SHAFT SENSOR . . . My cousin. Said it might be the Spark Plugs but fuck man , as much money I dropped on this I could’ve been had a new car , but thanks for the video 💯 it was great advice brother 💪🏾
The idles bouncing cause the computer not getting the proper information from the MAF or not getting information at all. So it messes up everything causing a rough idle. Computer needs too see that air volume to determine how much fuel to inject or else it’s guessing. Plus MAF helps shift the transmission properly cause it needs proper data from the computer PCM to shift smoothly. If the computer PCM can’t see the right amount of air volume it can’t keep the engine at proper idle and the transmission can’t shift smooth with the engine.
Hey @turtledC4t my 2007 shuts off when I’m sitting still or when I stop at a turn slowly or someting it literally shows the lights still but shuts off as if the engine stops , what’s the issue ?
I bought a 2001 Impala when I stop or slow down the car shuts off n some red battery light will come on so I half to put the car back in park n restart the car n I’ll half to put my foot on the gas while I’m turning the key n it crank right up
Hey I have an 2003 Chevy Impala 3.4 V6. The car would kill while driving. Is this an issue you may have also had with you Impala? If so what could that problem be?
Honestly, it's a common issue with most impalas. I have had this issue with about 3 impalas so far and most have happened on the 3.8l. However if you elaborate on what exactly is going on I may be able to help you with the situation.
It’s 100% the MAF sensor it’s probably going out these sensor read the volume of air going into the intake. So you have your air box with the filter then you have the MAF sensor and then the IAT sensor that reads the temperature of the air most new cars have that built in with the MAF sensor. After that we have the throttle body with the flap and the IAC valve and after that just before the flap you have a TPS sensors all these sensors work together there jobs all too deal with the air. As we all know we need more air to fuel to have proper combustion so what is my issue well reading all your comments too me it’s definitely the MAF. Computer checks the MAF first then reads the air temp looks at the TPS too see if the driver is increasing air flow if the computer sees the TPS is zero it commands the IAC valve open to keep the engine running at idle. If the MAF is reading wrong you can see how it would mess up everything down the line the IAT sensor readings won’t match with the air volume the TPS won’t match with the air volume and at idle since the TPS and MAF are like brothers if the computer can’t read the air volume it won’t match TPS and won’t command the IAC valve to open probably why you gotta keep the gas pedal pressed down at stops. Try cleaning the MAF and why’ll your at it all the other sensors down the line and the throttle body it’s self
Any ideas on a 2003 impala with a rough start when warm? It needs a little gas to start then but when cold it starts fine. Fuel pressure and pump checked out fine.
@@TurtledC4t Thanks a ton for the quick feed back. After a dive down the car forum rabbit hole again I found a similar case and that was their solution as well. Thank you again. Heres the thread in case you are interested: www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/8-Service-and-Repair-Questions-Answered-Here/53900-impala-intermittent-no-start?start=0 The poor guy just about replaced everything before he got to the MAF
@Michael Copeland Car ran fine with maf unplugged so I replaced it, still no luck. Got the fuel pressure checked and it was fine. Its really odd. Cold starts are a little rough/weak but that could be the cold weather at this point. If I drive to the gym or somewhere where the car will be parked for an hour it really needs for me to give it gas or it just quits on me when I try to start it. If the car is only parked for a few minutes, so still hot, it starts up with no gas but still a bit weak. Actually driving is fine. Sometimes when taking off after stopped at a light it will catch a bit but that seems like a different issue. No crazy idling issues thus far. Water temp sensor you think? Thanks for reading this blog post sized comment and any advice you might have.
I put a new fuel pump in mine it ran good now I gotta drive holding the gas and brake when I come to a stop so it don't cut off on me in my 2003 Impala 3.4 liter
I did that today car ran for 15 mins then turn off l, my last mass sensor was bad unplug it and drive the car for a week without killing the car maybe my cheap sensor now buying a Hitachi one now I hope it works
I replaced my mass airflow sensor and it still does the same thing. I have to give it gas to start and at idle it turns off and sometimes when I'm driving

Thanks! So you are saying change maf sensor
I had to replace my mass air flow sensor😭Scared the living shit out of me when it randomly died 😂

i'm having the exact same rough idle issue with my 2004 monte carlo, except there's no smoke at all, very confusing
Me too can’t figure it out changed the injectors idle control valve the injectors and I cleaned tps and maf and did no good problem has gotten worse

What's with the long pauses between words.
Get outta here. He is tryna explain slowly so idiots like you understand😂
Retardation.
Check crank position sensor siring harness also

This video is a throttle body issue. The throttle position sensor is going bad
@@anthonymonroe7463you're wrong my friend I replaced the tpms sensor twice and nothing happened so tell me the odds of me getting two bad tpms sensors
I'm currently having the same problem with my 2003 Impala. Gotta put it in neutral. And hold the gas when coming to a stop

I'm going to say a MAF sensor

The poor guy just about replaced everything before he got to the MAF
Water temp sensor
Or fuel pressure regulator

Yeah, I'd change the air filter, clean the throttle body and the mass airflow sensor and change the fuel filter. And go from there.
Mine runs idles perfect but shuts off when I put it in gear

Try unplugging your mass airflow sensor see what happens

Change ur iac best to get 1 from the junkyard original
My Colorado does same shit
Yo I have to do the same thing and it will still eventually start sputtering rpm’s stay at 0 and won’t pick up speed
Going to help a friend with theirs. Thanks man ✌
Was it a vacuum leak?
04 impala died while driving coming to a stop. And while sitting still
My 2000 monte carlo does the same, any advice ?
Sounds like your issue is the PCV Valve, not the MAF Sensor.
My 94 Toyota only needs oil changes and thats it
Ok Scotty killmer
@@TurtledC4t lol
This video is me bro, Appreciate it!
I replaced my mass airflow sensor and it still does the same thing. I have to give it gas to start and at idle it turns off and sometimes when I'm driving
Crank sensor it wont throw a code
Key switch
These impalas may just be the worst invention ever I have changed everything and when I slow down it starts running rough and sputtering
I have the same issue
