This was an absolutely great comparison and I’m sure viewers appreciate you sharing the issues with the Canik along with the solutions.
As I commented in your earlier video, I had to do the painter’s tape hack, but I did not have an issue with return to battery because my newer gun has the stronger recoil spring. I did have the slide not lock back once, but that was because of my fat thumb.
Since then, I have discovered another issue. I loaded up a mag with Federal JHP HST and none of them wanted to feed. The hollow points would jam against the feed ramp for a second and then pressure from the slide would force them into the chamber. The JHP weren’t catching on anything. Just jamming up in the center of the feed ramp. This was not at the range. It was at home with me just pulling the slide back and letting go. (Ball ammo had no problem feeding.) To fix it, I polished the feed ramp to a mirror finish and the JHP fed just fine. Took it to the range and again had flawless performance.
More interesting was that the JHP fed just fine in my Glock 19. I removed the barrels from both guns and compared the feed ramps and noticed that the Glock had more of an angle while the Canik feed ramp was slightly steeper. I’ll bet if Canik had simply given that feed ramp a little more slant then not only would I have not had an issue with the JHP, but possibly the original return to battery issue may not have existed. Compare the feed ramps on the two guns and you’ll see what I mean.
Innovation sometimes suffers from growing pains. I still choose to carry the Canik over the Glock.

Thank you brother I appreciate the kind words! I agree, I feel like if Canik would've waited even a year longer to drop the MC9 without flaws it would've been the PERFECT gun. Canik does such a nice job making their guns so shooter friendly 👌🏽

Glock reliable and aftermarket is definitely better. But Canik gives you everything out of the box. Wish they take there toner and drop a good firearm without issues MC9 was awful.

Hard to say. I was told as of Nov of 2023 Canik began to issue a new batch where know issues were addressed but some people still report they've had some issues. Definitely not as many as when it first came out but I trust it more than a P365! lol

You're right! It does, right on the extractor. I didn't realize it until after I posted the video. Very subtle indicator but it's definitely there thanks!
