    Good review. About 30 hours in my 2019 200rr and thus far I am having the time of my life on that machine. I think I couldn't have made a better choice for my first full size two stroke enduro bike. Good stuff, indeed.

    This video is what made me go for a 200rr instead of a bigger bike and im so happy with it! been giving it to a few 300 guys and they were really surprised by how well it performed. 10/10 would recommend this for anyone looking into trying enduro or want something to rip around the yard.

    I had a KTM 200, perfect size two stroke in my opinion. Can lug really well but still revs quick and has top end.

      2004 200sx is one the best. Still has torque but the top end will remind you have a 125 only bad thing is the pipe is massive and need be carful woods riding.

  • @tommywallbanger
    @tommywallbanger 3 года назад +4

    I rode this bike during one of Beta's demo days and I loved it. I love 200 CC 2 strokes, they're the perfect size for me. Like you said, it's the perfect balance of power and torque and doesn't beat you up. You can lug it or wind it out. I ride more MX style but I still loved this bike. I had to Frankenbike the bike I ride now. I had a 2004 KTM 200 SX but didn't like the rear pds suspension so I bought a 2015 150 SX and swapped the 200 SX engine in it and couldn't be happier but the 200 RR from Beta is one hell of a bike. I had the same problem with the limited steering throw on my KTM but I took the bolts that were acting as stops and turned them in a couple turns. It makes a little contact with the radiators but it's worth it in my opinion.

  • @Cycle9568

    Your description of this bike sounds just like my KTM 200! Big difference was that I had a 2006 which was the last year of the 125 Chassis. Which made the bike a little smaller which was awesome and confidence inspiring.

    I own a 2019 200RR, and it is the most fun dirt bike I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of different dirt bikes in my 28 years of riding. I'm so surprised with how much low end power this small bore 2T has. I ride in the Pacific NW woods where I prefer the tight single track stuff. That is where this bike really shines! Like Kyle says, the power is controllable, but still fun. The smile factor is when you are riding single track and in some spots you can wring the throttle open and the bike launches, but not so much that the bike feels out of control.

    • @jotacalvo
      @jotacalvo 4 года назад

      Roost-a-Fish how do you compare it to a KTM 200? Similar? Better?

    • @Rivercreekrods
      @Rivercreekrods 4 года назад +1

      @@jotacalvo Since you can't buy a KTM 200 anymore, I would say better. But I do have a friend with a 2015 KTM 200, and we traded a bit. I wanted my Beta back after the trade. I just love the motor on the Beta and the compact frame. It's just a lot of fun.

    • @jotacalvo
      @jotacalvo 4 года назад

      Roost-a-Fish I was asking because I now ride a KTM 200. So which one to buy isnt really an issue. I’m just trying to figure out whether it would be an upgrade. I do have my Keihin tuned beautifully, and had the head cut. So motor-wise, I can’t imagine a stock Beta being better than my KTM. The turning radius would be a big deal to me, and the much heavier weight, as I’m a tight woods rider. But the smallish frame is a big factor for me, also, being so short. I think I need to ride one of these to know for sure.

    241lbs ? Dang that thing comes in same as my 300RR Race Edition with 2 gallons of fuel in it. Love the Beta line all together, haven't ridden one that I didn't like yet. Tip: with the E-start only, carry a couple of spare fuses in case you lay the bike down and tear your horn off the radiator which causes the horn wires to arc and pop your fuse, then your e-start won't work.

    Nice Bike .. I like oil injection. I never could understand how oil would still work after being diluted in the gasoline.. They say you can use less oil with injection than with premix.. Skidoo computer controlled oil injection.. Injects the oil to critical points in the engine such as the crank bearings.. The oil ratio is richer at full power and less when running at a light load.. Thus if you ride easy you use much less oil than what you use at full throttle ..
    Skidoo also has direct fuel injection.. which is the ultimate.. because no raw fuel goes out the exhaust ports.. Emissions way down and fuel economy way up ..

I'll be jumping on a 150XC within the month due to the price I'm getting it for and the amount of fun I have on smaller two stroke motors. I don't think I'll have too much trouble keeping up with my buddies on their 250XC and FE 501, we'll see though! P.s. Great job on the detail in this review. I would love to ride this bike someday.

Do you know if a Beta dealer can get the OEM directionals (with compatible wiring) in the US? That would be a bonus for those of us who pursue street legality... Also, there must be *something* that can be done to tighten up the turning radius - re-locate the upper radiator mounts further back?

      Either bike will be fine for you. Remember that the 300 has many ways you can tune the sting out of it, plus if you are around 100kgs the 300 has a bit more suspension tuning available to it. Or go a 300 Xtrainer. Modern 2 strokes are just soooo much fun compared to the 2 strokes of the 1970's I grew up with. Invest in good knee braces. And just ride:)

    Very beautiful bike! I’ve always loved the 200 class! I didn’t see it but the front brake sounds like it has a floating rotor!? Plus I love the look of the plastic plus the lighting system is tucked in nice.😎🏁🥇

    I would love to see a video where you compare the sounds of all 2-stroke engine sizes. 125, 150, 200, 250, 300...

      Bigger engine more low end torque most the time. 125s u have no power unless on the pipe 200s u have a bit of bottom end not nearly the torque of a 250 but 200s have a top end like a 125. And they all depend on jetting pipes and flyweight a 250sx with woods pipe has lot od torque not much top end put a sx pipe on it lot less torque and a lot of top end if your not ready it will sit u on your ass.

      I’m 6’4 230ish my first bike was a exc200, it was perfect, definitely did not feel underpowered, waaaay more tourqey than a 125. 200 2stroke enduro is possibly THE best option for a beginner in my experience

    I've had four strokes all my life, I am currently looking to switch over to a two stroke. That being said I am a shorter rider (5' 7") between this beta 200rr and the ktm 250xc which bike would you recommend for my first transition bike over to two strokes? I would classify myself an intermediate rider.

    I have owned a xr250 to mellow and a cr250 to aggressive (for trails still fun) and i ride alot of the EXACT same trails as you (kyle) just slower

    I have a KTM 200SX. I couldn't find a 200EXC in California.
    The high compression piston and heavy K3 flywheel make it great on trails. Why KTM ended the 200 line eludes me.
