They say after you use Patricks M3, you need to go deep down the pacific to wash your hair properly. Either that or buy a 1000 feet deep sink, fill it and go deep in, in order to overcome the amazing waterproof hold M3 offers.
Hey BluMaan, thanks for the review! We wanted to respond to a few things as we’re super proud of our products and spent the last 8 years developing them. Yeah it's expensive, but most styling products pump your head with chemicals, which is why they’re cheap! We were not prepared to use cheap ingredients in the products that are bad for your hair and scalp. We used the highest quality raw ingredients you can get. We then added an extra 20 active ingredients (PRC) to minimise hair loss, promote hair growth and stop dandruff. No other styling product on the market does this. The fragrance was made to be subtle so it doesn't overpower a cologne or aftershave. M3 is a matte finish product, but if you use it with a pre-styler it will have more of a shine. It is not ultra-matt as when we developed this in our barber shop over many years, our customers felt ultra-matte stylers made their hair look dry, dull and thin. I guess it’s personal preference. As for the water-resistant claim, being in Australia we developed this product for surfers and athletes to resist sweat and water. Obviously we’re not claiming your hair will maintain it’s style underwater or in a sink, the product stays in your hair so you don’t need to re-apply product once dry. The water resistant 1000ft/300m is just a tribute to my watch the Rolex Submariner, Blumann would know that if he had one, jokes… Like everything in life you get what you pay for, any questions or feedback shoot me an email patrick@patricks.com.au or hit me on +61424506880 for a chat. Patrick Kidd
But the question is- is the amazing list of super natural PRC ingredients to minimize hair loss, help hair grow, etc etc etc etc etc necessary when the price range is? Idk, i guess for me, and for Joe, it didn't encourage me to choose M3 by Patrick. But i guess people that really really really care about the health of their hair to the degree of $60 would buy it. Can't stop people from personal opinions. It's a free world we live in. Kudos for the hard work to develop a product- that's not an easy task, but it seems like the notions pointed out by Joe are in agreement with a lot of the audience for this video. And based on my personal experience- Cavalier Clay is closer to the definition of "Matte" and "Real Strong hold", not to mention Cavalier's amazing health benefits and high quality natural ingredients, just like M3! (or maybe not 20 different types, but the 10 that Cavalier uses is enough for me, i guess) :) Keep being awesome M3! #CavalierClay
Eyoo! First I appreciate how you've handled the criticism. My intention was to demonstrate all the different features that I would go through with most hair products and give my opinion on them without a "bashing" attitude. Naturally the bar is set high at a $60 price point and I can tell that a lot of work has gone into the ingredient selection! For me personally, the finish of the product was simply not for me... I use the same pre-styling product for every hairstyle I do and to switch it up for this review would throw in something new that would set it apart from other product reviews I do. And as for the water resistant thing I definitely didn't get the reference but just as you had fun making the claim I had fun putting it to the test ;) I'm not sure if you plan to make any other matte finish/strong hold products in the future, but if you do and you think the finish would be more matte I'd be happy to give it a go!
Let's be honest, NO men hair product worth that price tag and nobody give a shit for all that "healthy" ingredients of your hair product, what's most important is the styling characteristic itself, the finish, hold etc. You claim your product works for shorter hairstyle. Hell, I'll get gatsby wax for less than 4 bucks and still get good hold and finish for my shorter hair, because almost all products works for shorter hair. No offense though if you find my comments are rude, this is just very honest insight from normal guy
Haha, look at him trying to be cool showing off his Rolex and looking down upon people who don't have that little jewelry. Who the fuck cares? And yeah, it is an invalid point when your product doesn't work well at styling. If people want something to nurture their hair, they will buy haircare products. Hairstyling products are supposed to style well first, and yours fail miserably.
I must be on a 2014 or 2015 video. Or wait, maybe this is like the hundredth video of those shitty faze adapt the type of guy videos. And this kid must be one of those kids that type a comment trying to be funny even though the joke is 5 years old.
Glad to see you going back to these older style videos, indepth reviewing other products. Sometimes I feel like you just speak about blumaan, and dont get me wrong it is a great product I use it all the time. But I like to know about the other products on the market! Keep up the good work though Joe mate, you are smashing it.
It said short hair so maybe because ur hair isn't that short or cus you have alot of hair, you need more product for it. More product = more grease/shiny. Idk what do u think?
I'm sure the water claim is for the packaging. AKA if you drop it in water, the water wont get in and ruin the product itself until it's 100 down, where the pressure is higher and the water is forced in.
I think the water resistance was more so there so you would have the option to put the product in while your hairs wet. Not literally sinking your hair in a sink
Today I was going crazy over my hair. I was even thinking of just shaving it all off because of how puffy, frizzy and outright unmanageable it is. This video saved my day.
Hey Joe, good review! Haven't tried Cavalier clay as isn't sold locally but may try mail order it.. how would you say Cavalier Clay compares to Claymation? Claymation has become my favourite product in the past year and though I've tried a few other products, I've found nothing that compares for controlling thick hair with an easy to wash out, matte finish.
Hey joe! Please do a review on Kocaine Klay of India which is a home-brewed product. It claims that it is a 100% natural product so please review that. It would mean the world to me.
Haha, I went to my go-to barbershop and they were advertising this stuff, proudly saying they're the first barbershop in Melbourne that was authorised to distribute Patrick's. The barber used M2 on my hair and in my opinion, the hold was close to non-existent and the scent was okay but nothing as nice as homebrewers' products (Arcadian, O'Douds, Grim Grease, etc). I will not be buying it with that price tag anytime soon as there are tons of other products that could do the job so much better and are a lot cheaper.
Hey J! I wonder if you would ever be interested in reviewing some products from the Moroccanoil brand, because I know they are meant to be women's, but I'm a guy and I've found them to work really well on me and I would like to know your opinion. Anyhow, I admire your work and thank you in advance!
We use the same aluminium man! As well as a rubber gasket on the bottom of the packaging to stop it sliding around on a wet surface, similar to the rubber edge on an MacBook screen
Ah thats so cool. It proves that even the more premium products can inferiour to the more budget ones. It really made me laugh when you ducked your head in the sink ahaha xD
People with thick coarse hair would love this product, it's not gel shine nor hardens, it's not too greasy like a pomade and it smells great, it goes in the hair beautifully and if you got thick hair it helps tame it! Most products out there matte matte MAKE YOUR HAIR GO STRAW LIKE HAIR which makes it look really horrible and makes you pull out a lot of your hairs SPECIALLY if you have thick coarse hair, THIS product gives you a natural shine, and because it doesn't set hard it gives you a pleasant feel and at the end of the day just wash it off with shampoo and you're done. It's really good! I don't know why he didn't like it. The price point is worth it to me. Helps tame coarse thick wavy hair, smells good, and it's just what I was looking for.
@@MorganKing95 high quality ingredients that you can't get in any cheap brand. It really tames my coarse hair. I like it. Good for your hair vs chemically ingredients that's the difference in quality. I like it I'll buy it again, I recommend you to give it a try. I also recommend you try Paul Mitchell's super skinny serum if you have thick hair as a pre styler.
@@jesuschristsaves3603 Why should I waste $60 on a hair product when I get hold, volume, and texture with products for $20? O'Douds for example is all-natural and costs $18, and both Pete and Pedro and Hanz de Fuko have been amazing as well. Unless this product prevents damage and hair loss, then I'm not interested
maybe using original first had some weird reaction with the product... maybe try it in completely clean hair with no product? idk how that waterproofing is supposed to work tho lol xD

This vid was refreshing! Haven't seen you do a review in a long time. I'm glad you did M3 too. I was curious about this $60 business
I'm jealous of your swimming pool Joe...

Yeah, and do you put the box on your head?
Brian Kop fuck off he wasn't being offensive at all
It has to be exactly 1000m deep or else it won't work
I think the water resistance part of it refers to how far you can put the product in its packaging underwater before the water can get to the product.
Blumann n pete pedro products in country are more than 60-100 usd
Joe you need to try out Morris Motley SB !! Its also expensive and good , Anybody got Ocean Clay review?

Ocean clay is better than cavalier imo
maybe you shouldnt use your own product before blowdrying, give it another shot without cocktailing

Water Resistant up to 1000 meters 😂😂 I was cracking up at the end
But you have to remember that the reason why it feels more shiney and slick could be because of the length
You should’ve tested it on it’s own. It may not play well with hair that’s already coated in gunk.
