    I've got a blacked out 2012 RR Supercharged with almost 160K miles that honestly looks, feels and drives like new. The 510 HP engine is smooth, relatively quiet (sorry, not much exhaust gurgle) yet suprisingly 'sudden' with immediate 4x4 power that launches you to cruising altitute of 90+ mph in a heartbeat, as the supercharger purrs under the hood and you blow by lesser vehicles with slightly aristocratic swagger that is a complete rush. I've driven Mercedes sedans for years but the Rover's "throne-level" one-of-a-kind driving position and luxury/sport experience is in a whole different league. If you like this body style (and who doesn't?) and can find one that checks out mechanically, I suggest you grab it for the ride of your life.

      I own a 2012 Range Rover L322 Autobiography. It's not black or white or any of the usual colors, it's an understated color called Bourneville. Some of my vehicle's documents have black written on them lol. But it's actually a deep burgundy metallic black with a black semi-aniline leather interior. Everything inside is leather. Even the headliner, doors, and dashboard. I love driving in. It is heavy but I like it that way because it absorbs the bumps and doesn't rattle like every other vehicle does I've driven in.

    One of the quirkiest cars out there. I agree with what you said - amazing driving position and experience. Love my 12 SC. But again I’m scared every time I drive it something is going to break. It’s impossible to program the home link garage opener, parking sensors just refuse to work. Blind spot is very moody - lately it’s been working but only on driver side. Keyless entry you referenced is just dumb for a $110,000 vehicle. Audio streaming through BT should be built in. Ya I don’t understand what their where thinking when they decided on option/packages. Saying that I love it and I continue to be scared of a major breakdown (engine and the timing chain for one)

    Great review! I think the Discoveries (especially the LR4 iteration) are equally luxury focused. The Range Rover obviously trumps anything in the lineup in this regard, but they are definitely aiming for luxury first. Probably the last vehicle Land Rover put out that aimed at being rugged first (and probably rugged only) was the previous Defender.

    As for the "3 generations within the 3rd generation" you should specify that there are the BMW powered ones from 2002 to 2006, then the Jaguar powered ones(reliable ones) from 2007 to 2009, and the nightmare ones with the 5.0 which are the 2010 to 2012. Good video. I'm in the market myself for a 2009 but damn are they rare.

    • @carlosb6205
      @carlosb6205 3 года назад +4

      @@newyork3020 they're fantastic. Probably the best. But you will eventually have to do a timing chain job and update the plastic clip to a metal one. If you don't catch it in time and it snaps while driving, bye bye engine and get out your wallet. If the timing chain upgrade has been done and it's a knowledgeable previous owner then have at it! The 07-09 had the Jag engine which had no known major issues at all.

    • @kyrees.williams869
      @kyrees.williams869 2 года назад +2

      Actually, the Jaguar 4.4-liter N/A and 4.2-liter supercharged engines were 2006-2009, not 2007-2009. That means the BMW-powered ones were 2003-2005. Again, these are US model years. Our 2002 model year was still the prior P38 generation.
      However, the 2006 was a one-year-only bastard child that still had some of the BMW tech. While the exterior had been facelift and some of the interior had been redesigned, including--crucially--the infotainment and instrument cluster, the dashboard, center console, keyless entry, and seats were still BMW. A full interior redesign arrived in 2007.
