My favorite summer wildflower is the Indian Paintbrush. They flourish in central Texas along with our state flower, the Bluebonnet. We have orange and blue wildflowers as far as the eye can see. Glorious. Thank you for spotlighting these watercolor brush pens. They look amazing!!
I just moved to southern california, and this spring we had the most gorgeous wildflower superbloom! Everywhere you looked you saw fields and mountainsides covered in bright orange poppies that have become my new favorite wildflowers
The wild rose!! There was a wild bush growing in the ditch right in front of our farm in rural Dundee, Iowa. I quickly learned that it was impossible to cut the blooms and have them keep for any length of time. I suppose that's what made them so special to my heart.
I really like the meadowsweet. It is a white wild summer flower. In general, I find flowers as the most beautiful thing in the summer and when the sun, the birds and the smells get mixed - it is just wonderfull! These flowers are fluffy-white and I actaully enjoy them the most just before they burst into bloom, looking like small snowballs. But it is just so pretty in general!
My favorite wildflower is the milkweed flower. I love the way the smaller flowers are only part of the whole flower. It is symbolic of how we are just a small, but vital, part of our community and this world. Great video as usual!😊
My favourite wildflower is the poppy. It reminds me of drives through the countryside in England with my grandparents. The fields were completely covered in red and orange ,with the pretty poppies blowing in the soft breeze. Lovely memories. x

My favorite wildflower is the bleeding heart. We had them in our yard when I was growing up and it fascinated me that nature could make a flower in the shape of a perfect heart! I would love to try to paint this flower with these paint pens!
My favorite wildflower used to be Black-eyed Susan when I lived in Maryland. Now that I am in a drier climate I appreciate anything that I can grow and enjoy in my garden for more that two weeks. I am particularly fond of the blue (purple) shades.

I grew up in Texas and now live in Georgia and wild flower I’ve spotted in both regions and love is Gailandria. It’s like a tiny sunflower is a super burst of warm colors. I sowed the seeds in my front garden bed and they are going wild.

My favourite summer wild flower is not really fixed. I love seeing crocuses appear (where I live it always happens during Easter and indicates that spring has finally arrived) but I also enjoy foxgloves and simple daisys, because I have a lot of nice childhood memories connected to them :)
I just bought some water color brush pens and I too love them. They really give you detail. I will draw a picture with them and spray water on it and I get the same reaction as I get with regular watercolor paint, as well. They are great. So glad you enjoy them. Take care and thanks for sharing.
My favourite subject when using watercolours are florals. During summer vacations, I search for photos of flowers and familiarizing them and wow there sure are a lot, small and big ones. After months of staring and observing the photos, I somehow just cannot choose a so-called "favourite". Each flower I see, no matter what angle, are all pretty, even dried ones. I really love pressing and drying my flowers because they seem to carry a fragile memory.
I love tickseed, purple coneflower, and Black-eyed Susans. My yard is filled with them. I really loved this tutorial. It helped me see more ways to use the brush pens I already have. I'll be practicing!
I'm not sure if it's considered a wild flower but I love dianthus. They have a soft petal feel with a rough edge and I love to plant them in my flower pots and flower beds.

Forget me nots are my fav summer wildflower. My 2 year old boy loves planting them, collecting them, and giving them to friends and family. I would love to paint them with a watercolour set!

As a young girl visiting my grandparents who lived on a farm in Saskatchewan, I would spend my afternoons picking Black-Eyed Susans then press them between the pages of one of my grandfather’s books. Shayda, your video brought me back to that very special time. This summer, I’ll go searching for them but this time rather than pressing them, I’ll “try to” paint them. I was just using the watercolor pencils today, and seeing how easy and versatile the brush pens work makes me very interested! My favorite has to be the Virginia Bluebell. They were in the woods behind my house growing up, and I felt like they bloomed just for my birthday every year. Thanks for sharing!
Loved the video and will have to try these pens. Here in north Florida we have so many beautiful flowers that grow wild everywhere, but I would have to say that one of my favorites is the Queen Anne's Lace that grows as big as large dinner plates here!
My favourite summer wild flower is wild Roses that fully bloom along the road in Ostende. Riding the bicycle under warm sunshine, seeing the colors of the sea and the sky blend in together with the gentle smell of wild roses all around always is my most looking forward time in the year. The Hawaiian hibiscus is a beautiful flower to paint. So many colors of the rainbow. Wish the real flower would last longer than a day. But we can paint them now with the beautiful watercolor pens you just showed. A flower forever

Thank you Shayda for yet another lovely tutorial. The brush pens look amazing! My favorite flower is a native flower to my area, Oregon. I always look forward to the blue camas blooming. At one point it was so prolific that when Lewis and Clark traveled through the territory on their expedition they thought it was waves of water on a lake but instead it was the breezes blowing the blue camas. It was also a food source for the local Salish and Chinook tribes. Yes. I’m a bit of a plant, art and bird nerd!

My absolute favorite are probably the hydrangea because of the amazing memories of being in my aunties back yard as a kid in summer and seeing them bloom so beautifully, but marigolds are beautiful too, they are used during the day of the dead. Another beautiful but deadly are angles trumpet, in my parents home town we had a tree and they just remind me of home! I’d love for you to do any of em!
My favourite summer wild flower is the orange day lily. It is a species of daylily native to Asia. I really like your painting before adding water though. It has a feel of gouache paint.
First of all, I want to say how much I love the smoothness of your paintings and drawing, and how your choise of colours always makes your art look soft harmonious. My suggestion to a beautiful summer flower motif are wild strawberries. Here, in the southern part of Norway, they grow around ditches, especially along side small dirt roads. I love how they bloom and carry berries at the same time throughout the entire summer. These pens would be perfect for me to use in my sketchbook journal/artjournal❤

I like how you always explain exactly what you're doing and how to do it. One of my favourite flowers is a Clematis. They are so fascinating because they always look like they have completely died in winter but if you continue to water them, they bloom so beautifully and produce great amounts of flowers in the summer.
Who knew brush pens could produce such beautiful colors and lines? Very nice! Ever since I saw Willie Wonka eat one, my favorite Spring/Summer flower is the Buttercup. I know they are wild in certain areas. The wild ones are more petite, with lacier edges. Great video, as usual!
I love the colors of this as well. I'm generally an acrylic painter, but I've been scared to try watercolor. I think because it feels like I have no control over the outcome. I've been eyeing pen sets because maybe it would help me with the control issue of the medium. 😁. So thank you for the review of these pens. My favorite summer flowers - there are many- are lobelia, geraniums, peonies, Lantana, larkspur, allium, Persian shields, gloriosa lilies, stargazers, dianthus, foxgloves, protea..... Just started pencil drawing as a beginner but as my main interest is horticulture the watercolour gives a lovely surreal effect. My favourite summer wildflower is the azure blue cornflower.
I LOVE the look of these pens so much. I think the ability to do washes and be able to add really fine details is ideal. WOW. My favourite wild flower is the Sturt’s Desert Pea which is famous in Australia but grows everywhere near my home in the Central Australia desert (near Uluru - aka Ayer’s Rock).

The spreading Phlox Ranging in color from white to pink to blue, this native perennial grows in loose mats in open rocky areas. Widespread throughout Washington with a long blooming period from May through August, phlox is a welcome sight for hikers in middle to high elevations in the mountains.
So hard to pick a favorite summer wildflower as we have them year-round, here, in Florida. We have Passion flowers growing in our backyard trellis with fruit appearing right in time for summer. They are quite intricate so I’d love to see your simple and perfectly imperfect rendition!

Favourite flower is the orchid, but for summer I always get reminded of the pink roses from grandmas garden or the blu bell flowers growing everywhere

My favorite flower is a native flower to my area, Oregon. I always look forward to the blue camas blooming. At one point it was so prolific that when Lewis and Clark traveled through the territory on their expedition they thought it was waves of water on a lake but instead it was the breezes blowing the blue camas. It was also a food source for the local Salish and Chinook tribes. Yes. I’m a bit of a plant, art and bird nerd!
My fav summer wild flower is the poppie. I have been visiting Tuscany week and loving their translucent waving color.

I love the look and coloring of Plains Coreopsis and big benefit is that you can use it for tea after drying.
I love dainty daisies and carried them in my wedding bouquet. Another summer flowering plant is the Lupine in all it's bluish purple and reddish hues.
My absolute favorite are probably the hydrangea because of the amazing memories of being in my aunties back yard as a kid in summer and seeing them bloom so beautifully, but marigolds are beautiful too, they are used during the day of the dead. Another beautiful but deadly are angles trumpet, in my parents home town we had a tree and they just remind me of home! I’d love for you to do any of em!
My favourite summer wild flower is the orange day lily. It is a species of daylily native to Asia. I really like your painting before adding water though. It has a feel of gouache paint.
First of all, I want to say how much I love the smoothness of your paintings and drawing, and how your choise of colours always makes your art look soft harmonious. My suggestion to a beautiful summer flower motif are wild strawberries. Here, in the southern part of Norway, they grow around ditches, especially along side small dirt roads. I love how they bloom and carry berries at the same time throughout the entire summer. These pens would be perfect for me to use in my sketchbook journal/artjournal❤
My favorite summer wildflower is Viscaria or Rose of Heaven because of it's color and it's name. I'm just starting to try water coloring and didn't know about brush pens, so this was very timely! I am learning a lot from your fun tutorials! Thank you.
I like how you always explain exactly what you're doing and how to do it. One of my favourite flowers is a Clematis. They are so fascinating because they always look like they have completely died in winter but if you continue to water them, they bloom so beautifully and produce great amounts of flowers in the summer.
Who knew brush pens could produce such beautiful colors and lines? Very nice! Ever since I saw Willie Wonka eat one, my favorite Spring/Summer flower is the Buttercup. I know they are wild in certain areas. The wild ones are more petite, with lacier edges. Great video, as usual!
I love the colors of this as well. I'm generally an acrylic painter, but I've been scared to try watercolor. I think because it feels like I have no control over the outcome. I've been eyeing pen sets because maybe it would help me with the control issue of the medium. 😁. So thank you for the review of these pens. My favorite summer flowers - there are many- are lobelia, geraniums, peonies, Lantana, larkspur, allium, Persian shields, gloriosa lilies, stargazers, dianthus, foxgloves, protea..... OK I'll stop there! Lol. As you can see I love lots of color in the garden!! Whoever won, I'd love to see how you used them!
Globe amaranth is my favorite summer flower. The unique rounded shape and bright purple color are the perfect thing for summer!!!

I LOVE the look of these pens so much. I think the ability to do washes and be able to add really fine details is ideal. WOW. My favourite wild flower is the Sturt’s Desert Pea which is famous in Australia but grows everywhere near my home in the Central Australia desert (near Uluru - aka Ayer’s Rock).
Beautiful paintings. My favorite wildflower here in Michigan is the purple Columbine. Although they are not a wildflower, I love to see the pansies bloom in spring.

Shayda, honestly your watercoloring just gets better & better! That wreath is GORGEOUS! I remember as a little girl picking a wildflower that we called Indian Paintbrush, I don’t know it by any other name. It was tall, orange, brown & green. Have not seen them as an adult

Lupines. I grew up in Northern BC where they would bloom on the mountain slopes along the highway in many different colors. So beautiful!

welcome sight for hikers in middle to high
elevations in the mountains.
So hard to pick a favorite summer wildflower as we have them year-round, here, in Florida. We have Passion flowers growing in our backyard trellis with fruit appearing right in time for summer. They are quite intricate so I’d love to see your simple and perfectly imperfect rendition!
My favorite summer wildflower is a later bloomer - I love Black-eyed Susans. They’re hardy, and bright, and my favorite color. :)

I have such a hard time choosing a favoirite summer wildflower, but one that I love seeing when I visit Glacier National Park is the Beargrass.

They are all over the sides of the roads here in Western North Carolina. My boys and I are always so glad to seem them bloom because they show up and start blooming two weeks before school gets out for the summer so when we see them we know that our summer fun is about to start. Favorite wildflower is a buttercup. I've loved those beautiful pink and yellow colors since I was a child in Texas.

I live in Florida and we have these beautiful, almost Vermillion colored wildflowers with yellow tips called Blanket flowers. They remind me a little of fireworks!
Living in the desert southwest, my favorite summer wildflowers are bougainvillea - hot pink with rich green leaves, absolutely gorgeous!
I love the old fashioned flowers. My grandma always had yellow primroses that she called golden glows. She said they were cheery. I also love purple violets, wild geraniums, and morning glories. It's just too hard to choose only one!
My favorite summer flower is the Wild rose here in alaska. I have quite a few pedals collected but do not know what to do with them. I just open the jar and smell the sweetness. Yum.
