What a sweet little shape! I love cats and this looks so great but not difficult. I wish I could print onto watercolor paper in my printer, but I will still try this. Thanks for posting it!
Recommend tracing it from the screen on a thin piece of paper then transferring it if your printer won't take watercolor paper :D Don't forget to share you're results, we'd love to see them!
I love the way you apply the water to the drawing prior to starting with the shading, I am still practicing and getting things to go the way I want, the art of painting for me is very soothing and enjoyable.
Thank you so much David 😀 Really delighted you like the tutorial. This particular way of painting is very satisfying, watching the ink spread out is pretty magical.
It looks hard and it is hard :( Lovely but I really cannot do it! Just end up with a wet mess and uniform colour. Will try again when I'm feeling braver!
Got there in the end, third time lucky. Definitely need to tape the paper down as my 360 GSM was lifting! instagram.com/p/CFCXydSjtXR/?igshid=1u1wv4trj0cpd
Two things: make sure you're using the right paper. And make sure the water that you paint first has a sharp edge, the paint will only go where the water is placed :)
The background music is very sleepy - almost one of those sleep/relaxation tunes which may not be the best for watching an instructional video - maybe some slightly more upbeat Musak?
Awesome tutorial, but do you really have to leave in the *entire* length of wetting the drawing? So many minutes of watching that, it's like watching paint dry. Lol
Check the description 😁 We were trying a different format, so you can paint along in real time 😉 Still not decided if this is the best way to go or the more abbreviated versions.... I kind of think a hybrid might be best, leaving enough of it so people know exactly what's going on... But not so much that it's an epic three hour paint drying marathon.

Pretty cool wet on wet with one color. I’m going to use my Fabriano Artistco paper to give it a go 👍🏻
Yay :D we would love to see it!
Chromatek how do I show you my work? I’d be happy to share
@@Mr.S65 please do email us at info@chromatek.net :D

He visto uno o dos de tus videos, deberías seguir viniendo, me encanta el acento español, viví en Sax, Alicante Provenza durante varios años

Thank You for the new video!
I have already created two greeting cards and ready to begin another!
Nice one Rick, I saw the FB message, looking awesome!
Love this tutorial! Do you have tracings we can download for your videos?
Absolutely, just check the video description!
Great tutorial! Does this style of painting have a name?
Thanks, this is a wet on wet watercolor technique :D
This was great! What type of paper do you use?
Thank you :D We use the Chromatek watercolor paper available in Amazon

There you go! Beautiful work. The amount of water you use really does take practice but one you crack it... Amazing right? :D
@@Chromatek I like it a lot! Thank you for your videos :)
Could I do brown and black?
Or should I add brown after the black wash?
Of course! Any color should work well but the darker ones will bleed better :)
None of my edges are a solid line. They are all slightly bleeding. How can I make some edges a smooth line?

How do I fill the aqua pen?
Open it the opposite way from normal ;)

Half of this tutorial was painting the cat with water. It put me to sleep - thanks for the nap!
You’re welcome 😊
