Short summary.
If you want something durable that you can beat up go with the 200. If you want the most power for the cheaper cost. Get the 215. If money is a problem get the 215.
Shortest summary:
Basically if your anything other than a mobile welder or someone who throws tools around then get the 215.
Miller 200. To run 6010, just give it 7-10 more amps and hold a tight arc. My 200 has run over 100 lbs of 3/32" 6010.
Always great stuff from you guys. A big Miller fan of course. Thanks for the edification. Very much appreciated.
Nice, needed this wekder to run 6011 and it did it!. My current inverter run the 6011 like using this machine on 6010. Thanks
What do I need power wise or Spec wise for a generator to run a miller 200? Thanks
I don’t do much stick but i do lot of mig 0.35 from 1/8 to 1/4 and alot of aluminum same thickness but i do weld from 30 min to and 1hr non stop is this the right machine for me need it to do mobile small work like personal trailers and thinks like that
I got the 215 recently. Tig is real nice, but the supplied tig pedal is a toy. I got an aftermarket pedal from usa weld. Onboard Steel Mig 0.35 is real precise, short/glob/spray arc is very tunable with the right gas. You reach the duty cycle real quick when stick welding, it works well on 1/8 6011 or 7018, you just can't burn rod nonstop without it auto shutting down (cool down) after 1 and a half rods. I use the miller 150 spoolgun with 0.35 steel wire, that sprays well. It sprays well with 0.35 4043 aluminum wire and argon. Its not a heavy duty fab shop kind of machine but it works good for lite use with lots of cool down breaks. Duty cycle is the key to keeping it happy. I got my moneys worth.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks multimatic 200 good choice
I'm trying to get a welder to do race cards for drag racing what's the 215 order 200 work for that
SOB I just started as a small school welding teacher. The last instructor bought this machine. what was he thinking
Welding in style, very nice
Good video.
Did you have the 215 plugged into 120 or 240 when you were welding with the stick electrodes
We had it plugged into 220
How reliable is this Miller Multimatic 215 ? I bought my son the Miller 211 and it came out of the box defective! It won’t allow him to run auto set it goes right into thermal protection light coming on?? So I thought about trading it in for the Multimatic 215 because he won’t give me back my Multimatic 235 .
Can you tell me if when you turn on the 200 and listen close, does it sound like an old computer constantly loading data. I just received mine and that's what it sounds like all the time.
Ahh no I do not think that sounds normal. I suggest calling Miller to trouble shoot over the phone 920-734-9821 let us know if they can not help and we will try!
Thank you much , its nice to be able to get a genuine review 😊 on the 215 . Keep simple and understanding , I have one as well and its great its helped on small and complicated work in hard times . Thanks for your confidence and opinion .
ONCE AND DONE MOBILE WELDING 😎👍🏻
Glad it was helpful! Appreciate you watching let us know if you have any other questions.
Do you currently use the 215 for mobile welding? I’m currently about to buy one and I just wanna know how durable it is for portable work,
@@marloflores8325 , sure buddy , my 215 is nice ! durable too had it now for over 2years and i keep it for small specialty work stainless and aluminum , gutters , cars , boats , go carts , bikes , etc , i run it off my 325 trailblazer , good buy !
Are the machines AC, DC or AC/DC according to how you set them ? 6010 is a reverse polarity DC rod. 6011 is an AC rod. Can you set the machine for DC reverse polarity ?
Reverse polarity is electrode positive. Straight polarity is electrode negative. What are you trying weld maybe we can help
I think I'll treat myself to the miller 215 it's very difficult to decide
your videos are great man. very helpfull

10-aught extension cord? Probably just 10-2 stranded wire. According to the ampacity charts, 10-AWG wire should carry 30 A without overheating. The voltage drop over 100' at 30 A is 5-10 V, if I remember correctly.
10AWG is what we used
The auto set feature is sort of good for beginners, but you can turn off the auto set and manually tune the volts and wirespeed for just the right results on mig and tig and stick. Spool gun wirespeed is also adjustable on the machine not on the spoolgun. No wire speed controll dial on the spoolgun. I use the #26 200 amp tig torch. The supplied #17 tig torch is ok, but it heats up pretty quick on high amps, its good for lite quick welds.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice! Just what I needed during my orientation. It sounds like the fan is making a lot of noice. Is it more then 60 dB?
No its not it sounds loud in the video but its not bad.
I have this machine, its semi loud can get annoying. but nothing a regular shop doesn't have soundwise
You have any reviews on the ESAB Rebel EMP 215ic machine ?
ruclips.net/video/FqsubB8DbGQ/видео.html is the only one so far! Look for another soon! What would you like to see about the Rebel 215?
if a fan kicks on the second u strike a arc.....its say 1 thing...........manufacturer learned from burnt out previous units/models.........have the fan kick on from the first arc......learning/winning/helping our investment last longer....ty....
What's the duty cycle on the 215?
Hi Bryan! Check out the second page of this document gives you all the info! www.bakersgas.com/media/homepage/Homepage110816/MillerSpecSheets/Multimatic215SpecSheet.pdf
Also if you are thinking of getting this machine the $200 rebate ends September 30th and it is not on rebate next quarter :) Let us know if you have any questions! 877-930-5690
Esab rebel vs Lincoln (xmp?) 220 vs miller multi 220
Would you recommend the 200/215 for welding 4130 (cromoly steel) tubing?
I am not sure! I will have to ask our welding engineer and get back with you.
Thanks for the good video!
I do mostly stick welding but after hearing him talk about it should I get it?
If your doing mostly stick you may want to consider a stick machine. Have you looked at the new Thunderbolt? He really focused on the stick because people had the most questions about that with those 2 machines. If your looking for multiprocess these are great machines! If you have any other questions feel free to comment here or call us! 877-930-5690
I stick weld 20+hrs a week the rest tig at work and use a miller syncrowave 350 lx tig runner full spec it's not the best for stick it but it does lay down nice strong welds with no functions on stick other than ac/dc
Will the 215 weld 1/2” steel on a single pass?
No its rated for 3/8in steel
215 all the way MILLER nailed it.
Yes thanks for watching!
Good to hear. Mine should be here Monday. Now that I've paid and am waiting, I'm sifting through videos to boost my confidence that I made the right decision.
@@nikonman1 How do you like it? I'm thinking about picking one up here soon.
idk man why u say that im having a hard time deciding witch one out of these two. what I like the most bout the 200 is the protected case it has plus the portability. is it worth another 600 to have that idk.
@@Sam-w9des If it helps there is a rebate right now on the 215! $200 up to $400 if you add accessories. Also we have some great bonus deals going on too!

Crank up the amps for 6010. Run it hotter than you think you would want and it will work just like it normally does.
Bro Please tell me the price of 215
My M.M.200. After every weld, the wire burnback is 3/4''. before EVERY weld or tack, I have to grab pliers and trim the wire. I mean for that reason alone the unit is my worst enemy. Every tack, get out of position, grab the pliers, cut, tack repeat. UGHH
I like the 215 better
i have the 215, man the fan can get noisy after a while
Are you complaining about noise while welding?
....dude I'm primarily a tig welder but even I'm not that fussy
You must love breathing the offgas heh
The arc start trouble was user error, not the machine.
Probably! haha thanks for watching
@@BakersGas Real humble bro lol

Baker's Gas can you do spray with the 215 or just short circuit
You said stick welding is its downfall, but don't demonstrate mig or tig.....
We wanted to show what was reviewed as the weak point of the machine. MIG and TIG is great! Keep an eye out we may do a video on MIG and TIG with those machines. Thanks for watching!
stainless steel....trimix gas?.......................odd....thought argon only?
U can't welding........stick.......
That background noise is aggravating!
Sorry we are filming in a real shop with mechanics/welders and sometimes we can not help the background noise. We try!
