This was very informative! I work in the field of taxes in IL and I can say you have a strong and accurate understanding of property, personal property, and sales taxes!! 👍
But those historic homes in STL city still got me interested.....lol. They are gems and hard to find at even halfway affordable rates anywhere else. Keep those videos coming!! 💪👍
Thank you! Glad it is helpful!
Thank you Jacob for doing this! I was the one who asked for this video.
Absolutely! Just wanted to make a breakdown of taxes and hidden costs because it was a good recommendation.
Thank you. I am interested in moving to St. Louis in the future. These videos are very helpful
Thank you! Any feedback or stuff that would make the videos better?
Yeah we're feeling it! Definitely things are getting expensive!
Thank you for this information. It is A LOT of extra if you move here and aren’t used to these extra taxes. We went back to Kentucky over the weekend and gas prices $3.25/gallon), sales tax and NO taxes on food and groceries was very refreshing.
Absolutely. And that's the thing, MO property taxes and what not aren't the highest in the country, BUT there are lots of these "hidden" taxes and we aren't as low tax of a state as it appears on the surface when all the taxes are combined
Yes! Please keep us updated on how inflation is affecting real estate in STL Metro. Thank you Jacob!!! :)
You got it!
Thank You. Love your videos.
Thank you for watching! What kinds of videos would be helpful for me to make more of?
@@LivingStLouis how about more info about job opportunities around the area? We are planning to move there and are looking into that.
I'm more in the apartment rental market, and I've noticed rental prices getting up there a bit.
I hear ya, they're definitely starting to creep up it's crazy
i just closed on a condo in st louis hills for 130k and its pretty nice, not huge but a two bedroom right next to a huge park. it took a little bit of looking my price range to find what i wanted but theres some good stuff out there for 100k-150k if you know where to look. i dont make a ton of money right now and im making it work.
That's fantastic; 100-150k can certainly be a solid price range in the right area, and that's a very common price range especially for a lot of 1st time buyers around STL
I visited Seattle recently. No income tax but it would be difficult to find any decent house for under 650K. My house in Glendale, which is a semi-upscale area would well for 350K at most.
Is St. Louis good for international students ? And how is the rent there
Not forget the cost of replacing your catalytic converter and door windows every other month.

Get your car off the street man! Ha
Nice, "open house Sunday" video.
Exactly!! haha I like the way you put it
What all taxes I have to pay if I’m coming for internship in St Louis Missouri
Depending on your situation you might owe: Personal property tax if you own a car on Jan 1st living in MO, a 1% earnings tax if you live or work in the city of STL, plus state & fed income taxes. Others to consider are sales tax when you buy stuff, property tax if you own real estate, etc. Hope this helps and welcome to St. Louis!
@@LivingStLouis could you help
Me with someone who can help me find a flatmate or sharing appartment I’m from India and coming over there in march
Special tax districts are an issue too. This needs to be restricted and is often just a handout to retailers or sketchy development districts in your area. Ways to save...drive an old car and buy less stuff! Ha
That's a very good point that I should've explained!
I'll tax the street, (If you try to sit,) I'll tax your seat (If you get too cold,) I'll tax the heat (If you take a walk,) i'LL TAX YOUR FEET! TAXMAN!
I love that 😂
