  • Lake St. Louis is a gorgeous part of town in St. Charles County, about 40 minutes outside St. Louis. It is gaining a lot of traction and it's a popular area these days. In this video, Jacob and Kellie talk about the big lake vs the little lake, differences between the neighborhoods, the lifestyle of living in Lake St Louis and the amenities that go with the LSLCA.
The two man-made lakes, Lake St. Louis and Lake Ste. Louise, offer a different type of living, depending on what you're looking for. Lake St. Louis is the bigger, busier lake and it's great for boating, tubing, and socializing. Lake St. Louise is smaller, quieter, and is better for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. If you're interested in waterfront living just outside St. Louis, Lake St. Louis could be a great fit for you. It's the closest resort-style community you'll find outside St. Louis and it's way closer and smaller compared to lake of the Ozarks.

Have a job offer there. Not a big city guy. I visited this weekend and my allergies were really bad. Is this normal? I felt safe in the city despite the stats but I was shocked at how empty, I guess, the suburbs and downtown felt. Why is that?
There was even a Blues game going on.

It's probably not just LSL you might have allergies in other parts of STL it might just be the climate of the area. The city of STL has been seeing a population loss for some time now which is one reason some areas feel very empty. I usually describe it as more of a suburbs city than a major city because it's not going to have that big city feel like you might experience somewhere like Chicago.

I moved here 11 years ago, not a big city guy either, but I love this area. My allergies all ramped up when I moved to MO in general from northern IL, so just something to get used to. Great school district, HOA dues and fees are super cheap with what you get and if you move, make sure your place has lake rights (allows you to put a boat in the lake). I keep a boat in the lake with a dock and it feels like vacation year round. Enjoy!
