Do you use any ToneX Products? Do you like 3rd Party Tone Models and which ones?

I bought an amalgam 10 pack for half off. I started with the small pedal and upgraded to the bigger one. For some reason I just don’t like to play through my computer.

Like other profile-based solutions, you get out what you put in. A good amp profile and IR combination will sound great for recording and live use. The ecosystem is versatile-create tones in the app, use as a plugin, or take sounds live. While the software is a bit janky, Tonex One is a fantastic problem solver/utility pedal

Man you have great stuff here. I can not understand why you don't have thousands of subs!

ToneX feels like an amp to me in one case: a ToneX direct capture (without cab/mic) -> power amp -> real cab. But is there a point to make a capture in this situation?

I only use app in my studio and only a couple of presets. I really does sound good. I'm thinking of buying the Tonex 1.I also use S Gear aon a couple of presets too.

it' not clipping dude, it's 32 bit internal processing, you have like 1 million db of headroom when it shows clipping.

Haven't tried ToneX yet, so no idea what it 'feels' like to play but, I can't say my Kemper feels very much like using a real amp. I use both valve amps, and Kemper (not at the exact same time) and don't really notice a difference in feel tbh.

Dude.. great video, and i love Your workbench, subscribing! :D
P.S. Every ir is made with a mic, so You kinda cannot hear real "amp in the room" sound because You
hear the microphone, and this makes a big diference.
P.S.2 all digital solutions are just trying to sound like real amps, do You think we will ever see a tube amp, designed
to sound like some "Iconic" digital amp, that was created as digital, like some of the Line6 native helix models?
    P.S.3
I had a choice to get UAFX Dream/tonex + Fender FR-12 or Blues Junior Tweed, and i got the real thing (for home noodling)
    It's coming today :)

I'm not into the cabinet.... If it had a combo power tube stage.... It's a mixin with the d class Poweramp.... It might be a worthwhile investment.
Let's be clear usually people just set their amps to the edge of breakup and utilize the tube power stage to get the best from their amp and then use it as a pedal platform! You can do that with amp capture software like tonex. Tonex is available pretty darn close.

sub'd. This isnt an argumentative post, its a discussion post.
The quad cortex and the tonex do sound and feel pretty much exactly like a real amplifier in my opinion, assuming you are using a well made profile. And assuming the real amplifier you are playing is mic'd up and you are remotely monitoring elsewhere lol.
When running through a quality power amp, and into a quality 4x12 in a room without using any IR's, i, nor anyone ive shared the experience with can tell the two apart in sound, promise. Ive done the A/b many times over with many people including local mix engineers at the sound lair who went in swearing theyd be able to tell on feel alone. They are indeed different but its impossible to tell which is which without intentionally studying first, even if the profile was made from an amp youve spent the last 15 years playing through. You will be no different.
You wouldn't be able to tell, absolutely would not be able to. Accuracy on a repeated blind experiment would be within the realms of negligible and haver around 50%. I would bet money on that. And if you're anything like MOST guitarist and producers, you will actually guess wrong more then 50% of the time when you are actually put to the test on it. I was no different, so far no one in my direct immediate experience has been.
*****Parity has been reached, a lot of us are just in denial about it for some reason still.****** In my honest opinion though parity was about 3-4 years ago. The digital world has actually superseded the valve world in feel and tone both so long as you know exactly what you are doing and don't go into every digital/modeling experience with a bias*
A well done profile will often *sound AND feel* closer to the profiled amp then another amp of the exact same make and model made in the same factory but different batch/year. that's a FACT.
We are also only just barely scratching the surface of the potential of digital modeling. It's still in it's infancy really.

Hey, thank you for spending the time to actually write all this.
I really respect your opinion, even though to be completely honest I respectfully don't agree about the first statement.
But it's absolutely cool that we are all different and we kind of feel and hear stuff different, and in the end, it's all in our mind and imagination what makes us like something or not, and we are biased whether we like it or not.
I love a lot of the digital stuff, and really it has come a long way!
Maybe for the sake of the discussion, I will say that, man, some amps aren't really good, and some digital stuff most definitely sounds and feels better. I was more referring to some really high end stuff when I was talking about it in the video.
And also, not all amps feel the same, where some are kind of dead and stiff, and some "work" more with the player. At least that's how I experience it. And most definitely, when comparing the ToneX with certain amps the difference is smaller or negligible compared to some other amps.
I really spent time capturing a lot of amps and pedals now, and I sort of pinpointed which types of sounds are captured better and I noticed that certain sounds are not really registered in the capturing process. And it is explainable, and would be perhaps a good topic for another video.
And the last sentence... hey, that's totally true. I can't wait to see what comes next.
      Rock on! 🤘

I’m glad you made a vid on tonex. I am old school. Guitar, cable, amp. This whole digital and modeling is newer to me and never was interested. Owned ax fx ultra and never used it. And ax fx 2+ and never used it.
Definitely looking into tonex and this video helps
