Hey, im from Germany and got my A7 that im watching this on right now on an Black friday sale for 149€ so ~167$ from Mediamarkt. The A8 currently sits at 209.99€ so around 235$
Great review! Simple, accurate and very complete. Thank you. I have a A7 and it's been a working tool. Wish it had a wider screen (use it for reading music sheet and music books). Now I'm thinking about the A8. Your review was very helpfull (Prices in Portugal are similar)
You can move many app installs to the SD card, but not all, esp. not the ones that come pre-installed (which were a massive space drain on the 16GB tab A6). I'm still on the A6, and with every install from Google Play, I go into the settings and check that app to see if it can be moved to the SD card, and immediately move the install there. This should be doable on A7 and A8 as well. It's hit and miss on which apps will allow this though. The emulators I use all are installed on the SD card.
I'm on the Tab A smt580 from 2015 and still a great device. Struggling to find a reason to upgrade. Clear it out regularly and as you say move what you can to sd.
Yeah you're right, I am surprised how many people think you can't move the apps to an SD though, where did this rumor start??? I can confirm that apps are movable to SD on the A8.
Such great advice and reviews I’m looking into finally get a Samsung tablet the newer ones are looking so nice lately and so much better then they use to be
I have the A7 and it did get the option of moving apps to the SD card in some software update. Doesn't work for that many but it still helps a bit with only 32 gigs of internal storage.
You can go to delevolper options and activate the "force apps on external" and that is going to make more apps have the option with moving on card (im using the function already and every app works fine with the option on)
In India the A7 64 GB is available for 15000 INR and A8 64 GB is 20000 INR. So I bought a A7 G4 GB last week as I mostly use it for general purpose browsing and study activities. Also, I am using a disk stylus along with A7 which works great!
The MSRP can be the same, but the market price are very different. I got the 64GB A7 for $179 a few months ago at Costco in the US. The 32GB version was $139.
Greetings from Taiwan! Thanks for sharing all these comprehensive reviews, much appreciated! As for the price, Both LTE versions (32GB) costs NT$9,900; whereas the Wi-Fi version (32GB) costs NT$ 6,990; HOWEVER,,,, the Wi-Fi version (64GB) of Tab A7 costs NT$8,490, well the Tab A8 costs at a cheaper price NT$7,990 instead.
In Dubai… The A7 is short of stock and priced higher (min $50) than A8. The A8 32GB comes with 26GB of its own software. Not many takers for A8. I liked the positioning of the camera in A7 as it was good for online school.
In the Netherlands the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 64GB Wifi is now for sale at 219 euros (which is currently almost the same as dollars, so $220). Thanks for the video!
Very helpful video thanks. Seems clearly to be the case that faced with an equally priced A7 and A8, you should for the A8:- certainly for the 64GB model (3 v 4 GB RAM). However, once you find a decent discount on the A7 it’s more difficult to justify paying a “premium” for the A8. I have subscribed.
I don’t know…about two years ago my neighbor had asked me to ‘fix’ his old low-end Samsung tablet he bought around 2016-2018. I tried and failed. I checked the operating system and it turned out to be the newest one available, and there was nothing wrong hardware wise. It was just unusable, failed on tasks as simple as browsing websites or watch stream videos. All apps did was open-froze-crash-and-repeat, meanwhile my old iPad 2 is still somewhat useable today. I just won’t suggest anyone buy a low-end tablet from Samsung. Two to four years of usable time for minimum tasks is way too short no matter how cheap the tablet is.
I'm from india looking g to purchase samsung tablet because I use samsung phone and I'm addicted to samsung ecosystem of convenient apps and software. Here samsuns tab a8 costs around 20000 ₹ for wifi+LTE and 18000 ₹ for tab A7
I'm from Australia the A8 64gb is $380.00 and the A8 128gb is $450.00 the s series start at $1,100.00 and $2,200.00 for the ultra .... I'm interested in the A8 128gb as a video editing tool which is mainly 4k go pro footage would you recommend it for that specific job cheers well presented content
Thank you, I was hesitant between the two devices and now I can make the right and appropriate decision for me. It's the best review I've seen between this two devices.
I can tell you I've had the 64gb A8 for almost a year now and it has been fantastic in every way for day to day web browsing, streaming and occasional gaming. If you are considering getting one make sure you get at least the 64gb as if you get the 32gb just the operating system takes up almost ⅔ of the storage. I don't even understand why they make such a low storage model when so much of it is already used up out of the box.
Reading some of the comments and from what you stated, I'm feeling I did something wrong, lol. I just purchased the A8 with 128GB for roughly 250$. I'm in US East. Hope I didn't get scammed even though I bought from a legit department store.
I bought the A7 32GB in June 2021 for 332.99, and 11 months later have just purchased the A8 64GB for 297, all Australian dollars, both Amazon purchases.
I just bought my very first tablet A8 from Argos I am in the UK. Primarily for RUclips and Zoom meetings. I paid 189.00 pounds 2 weeks ago and now its 219.00. Personally because I have Huawei phone I considered Huawei MatePad T5 for the processor and speakers but went for this one as Huawei wasn't in stock at the time. I am thinking should I keep it or return it being that I'm not really impressed with pixels and sound quality. Also Huawei is cheaper and better specs??? Just found your channel as I looked for reviews, thanks for your work, appreciate it.
im from indonesia and they do cost very similar/identical. the thing is you cant really find the a7 online anymore even the stock in samsung website is always gone, probably samsung plan on replacing it wth a8 instead
I'm a musician so I use my tablets for my music and a great music program that's only for Android/PC. The heck with buying a new tablet, I'll stick with my older tabs. I figure: if it ain't broke, why fix it? I'm still have 2 way older Tabs (I think Tab 3 and 2....can't remember). They work just fine. What I'm waiting for is a BIGGER Galaxy! They keep talking about but I haven't seen it. It's myth. Why do they keep putzing around with another 10 inch Tab?? If they went to a 12 or 13 inch then they could rightly compete with the big iPad. I hate Apple products. So I would love to Samsung come out with a BIGGER tablet. Thank you so much for your hard work, Ziggy!
Here in India, the Tab A7 64 GB is 15500-16000 and the Tab A8 64 GB is 20000. Both are the Wi-Fi variants. But when I got the Tab A7 64 GB Wi-Fi variant in August, it was 18000.
in Singapore. there is a online platform to purchase an export set from Korea at $219 Singapore dollars, which amount to about $153 USD for the LTE version 64GB size
You said you would put a link to the keyboard cover you recommend, but I'm not seeing it. Can you please tell me what it is? Thanks. Appreciated your comparison!
Hey Idk what's your name, you didn't really mention that in your videos. I am from india and I love your videos very much and I like the fact how you say " for how I use" because it makes sense that it is only for users like you not for everyone else. I like the tab a7 rather than the tab a8 In india the pricing is like this $249 (₹17,999) for Galaxy Tab A8 And for Galaxy Tab A7 It is $209(15,599) Please make more comparisons like this for Samsung and apple devices like the upcoming S22 series as well
Thank you for the support and feedback! That pricing makes more sense! I will definitely be making more videos comparing samsung/apple. Thank you for watching, Sagi
I'm from the UK and have both tablets. The A7 is still very decent but the A8 is certainly better. I got the 64gb version with 4gb of Ram and the extra gig of ram makes a difference. I paid £179.99 and think it's an excellent media consumption tablet. You can still buy the A7 but it's only a fracton cheaper so the Tab A8 is the one to go for.
Hi Mark, I just left a comment today at top and then saw yours. I bought A8 189 quid and now it is 219. Its my first tablet and I wondered what your views on Huawei MatePad T5 as I have Huawei phone and processor, speakers, pixels better. I don't game so its RUclips and other stuff got it for. I'm not that impressed with it, don't know wether to return it.
@@JanineP69 I believe that's quite an old tablet now and running an older version of Android. It only has 2GB of ram also I believe which means it might be quite slow. Can I ask what you don't like about the A8? 👍
@@JanineP69 The only decent alternative to your A8 at this price point is the Nokia T20 which is currently £179.99 at Argos saving £20. That only came out at the end of last year and will be supported with 3 years more of updates. It has 1GB of extra ram over the A8 so will be a bit faster. I'd not buy the Huawei T5 as it came out 4 years ago and is running an old version of Android.
Cool thanks for the video. I'm going to buy the Tab A8 for playing Warpath. I'm from Australia and the price is on sale Australia dollars $299 for 64gb.
I'm from Brazil. The price here to A8 is near to $330, cause I bought in a promotion. Tab S6 lite is being selled to $500 and it's a fever here for students. I don't know about you, but I think it's very expensive for a lite.
If I'm mostly going to be using the tablet for media consumption like tv/movies/netflix, do you think the screen on the tab S7 FE is good enough to justify the $200 price difference between itself and the A8?
Well i already got the tab A7 in june 2021 and i love it! Sadly the 64 Gb model is not available in my country but i have an sd card and i can use it like this ,after the update with the new feautures for the sistem i can use my tablet with mouse and keyboard more as a mini laptop but for word and things not a big deal(i can use this now because the tablet can handle more apps now)
The Tab A8 is practically the same as the Tab A7, it just has more RAM and Storage. And for the price of $270 for the 64GB and $330 for the 128GB Model, you might as well buy an IPad 9 for only $60-$0 more
I would recommend the s6 lite of your prefer samsung , or Android. 64 gb storage , 4 gb ram and s pen support , plus supports dex mode. You can get this for around 279 just wait for a deal plus shop around . If anything I would recommend yo get a used tab s 7 price can vary but it can be found around 350 to 450 ces with 6gb ram , 129 gb storage , s pen support and a faster processor Than all budget samsung tabs . If you prefer the ipads then I would actually recommend waiting for the iPad 10 rumor has it it will get a much needed redesign. And pencil Gen 2 support . If you are on a budg3t then get a ipad 9 or a used one solid performance 👌 👏 👍 But you will have to buy a pencil for 100 dollars extra. So it would be around the price range for a used tab s 7 Again if you prefer apple get the iPad if you are a heavy user for like video editing and photo editing than a iPad pro is recommend
I got the a8 for $180. People keep saying the a7 is better but I live in a big market in FL and still could barely find a7s.. An when I did they were more then the a8, $230 was the cheapest I seen at retail stores. So the a7 may be a tad bit better but the price savings make up for it in my opinion.
Tab A8 is £189 for 32gb and £229 for 64gb in the UK. I can't find the 128gb version anywhere, which is annoying. Tab A7 is at £149 but I can only find 32gb for that one.
I recently got the tab a8 and love it! I am having a weird problem where when I charge the tablet it won't go past 90%... I even returned the first one and got a replacement and it did the same thing. I have tried different chargers and different outlets but no change. Has anyone else seen this?!
I had the same issue. Originally would not go beyond 85%.now I get to 92%after a soft reboot/restore which was suggested by Samsung via the WhatsApp channel. Still not happy though. Might return as in nl coolblue give you a 30 say try at home policy so had it for a week and not totally satisfied but coming from an iPad 3 so perhaps not a fair comparison even though the iPad is quite old now
There's actually a setting in my tab 7 where i can decide if to charge only upto 85% to protect battery health. But it'll show 100% in notification. But i had to turn this setting in manually

In India, an A8 costs around $200 for the 3+32 and WiFi only option while the A7 is around $185 with the same specs
25$ isnt that much of a difference, HERE THE DIFF is 83 euros/$
I have been using my a8 for 4 months, i absolutely love it
You can move many app installs to the SD card, but not all, esp. not the ones that come pre-installed (which were a massive space drain on the 16GB tab A6).
You can on the A8 as well
Yeah you're right, I am surprised how many people think you can't move the apps to an SD though, where did this rumor start??? I can confirm that apps are movable to SD on the A8.
Here in Australia, we only have the 32GB version of the A7, with the 128GB version not being all too much more at the moment.
Such great advice and reviews I’m looking into finally get a Samsung tablet the newer ones are looking so nice lately and so much better then they use to be
Now, after watching this video I am definitely going to buy the A7. Thanks for the comparison video it helped me a lot.
I have the A7 and it did get the option of moving apps to the SD card in some software update. Doesn't work for that many but it still helps a bit with only 32 gigs of internal storage.
You can go to delevolper options and activate the "force apps on external" and that is going to make more apps have the option with moving on card (im using the function already and every app works fine with the option on)
32gigs is really weak for 2020+

The MSRP can be the same, but the market price are very different. I got the 64GB A7 for $179 a few months ago at Costco in the US. The 32GB version was $139.
What is that plastic-looking sheet he uses for seeing the speakers hidden under the case? That looks so cool.
In Indonesia, these tablets cost similarly, 4.5 million IDR (roughly 313 USD).
P.S.: The LTE 4/128GB variant for both.
Baru beli kemarin di lazada promo, tambah potongan2 dapet cmn 3.9jt gan.
In Dubai… The A7 is short of stock and priced higher (min $50) than A8. The A8 32GB comes with 26GB of its own software. Not many takers for A8. I liked the positioning of the camera in A7 as it was good for online school.
In my country Nigeria 🇳🇬
The tab A7 ranges from $288-$396 while
The tab A8 ranges from $372-$384
That's a big range for the A7 - thank you!

In the Netherlands the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 64GB Wifi is now for sale at 219 euros (which is currently almost the same as dollars, so $220). Thanks for the video!
Great overview, thank you.
Hey man from India 🇮🇳 and happily using a7 bought in late 2020
Such a great review. Thank you!
Thanks very relaxing explaining
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for being part of the channel!

I bought a Tab A7 lite a few months ago, wanna upgrade to the Tab A8, I am glad it still has a headphone jack.
Smart move - don't spend money unless you need to 👏
Thank you for the support!
There are bigger tablets of 12.4 inch size as well. S7FE and S7+ and S8 series is coming in 2nd week of Feb
What music program do you use?
S8 ultra is 14.6 inches
I'm also a musician (keyboardist)...Agree 100%...Samsung needs to have a screen size model the same as an iPad Pro...been waiting for one for ages

Hey Idk what's your name, you didn't really mention that in your videos. I am from india and I love your videos very much and I like the fact how you say " for how I use" because it makes sense that it is only for users like you not for everyone else. I like the tab a7 rather than the tab a8

And for Galaxy Tab A7 It is $209(15,599)
Please make more comparisons like this for Samsung and apple devices like the upcoming S22 series as well
Thank you for the support and feedback! That pricing makes more sense!
I will definitely be making more videos comparing samsung/apple.

I'm from the UK and have both tablets. The A7 is still very decent but the A8 is certainly better. I got the 64gb version with 4gb of Ram and the extra gig of ram makes a difference. I paid £179.99 and think it's an excellent media consumption tablet. You can still buy the A7 but it's only a fracton cheaper so the Tab A8 is the one to go for.
so should i go for the A8 instead of A7 ?
@@squirrel_76 I would
Hi Mark, I just left a comment today at top and then saw yours.
Where is the link to the keyboard case?
Cool thanks for the video. I'm going to buy the Tab A8 for playing Warpath. I'm from Australia and the price is on sale Australia dollars $299 for 64gb.
tnx for the video.!
Does the tab A8 use 10 gig for the Operating System ? So your 32 gig goes down to 22 gig from the outset?
I am from the United Arab Emirates and the cost is AED 890 - 1000. I own the tab a7
I'm from the maldives and my prices are tab a7 is 3949 and tab a8 is 4000 or 5098
I'm from Brazil. The price here to A8 is near to $330, cause I bought in a promotion. Tab S6 lite is being selled to $500 and it's a fever here for students. I don't know about you, but I think it's very expensive for a lite.
FYI I've got a A7 price between A7 & A8 LTE is the same both selling around 2400 Hong Kong dollars which is USD 307 .
If you are on a budg3t then get a ipad 9 or a used one solid performance 👌 👏 👍
But you will have to buy a pencil for 100 dollars extra. So it would be around the price range for a used tab s 7
Again if you prefer apple get the iPad if you are a heavy user for like video editing and photo editing than a iPad pro is recommend
@@cobaltblue5523 thank you! I actually chose the IPad 9th Gen over the Tab S6 Lite cause the IPad works for all of my needs

An when I did they were more then the a8, $230 was the cheapest I seen at retail stores. So the a7 may be a tad bit better but the price savings make up for it in my opinion.
