What's up everyone?! I hope this comparison of the iPad 9 and the Galaxy Tab A8 was helpful. Did I cover what you wanted to know? What else did you want to see or learn about?
in my opinion both are good. i have ipad pro m1 and when i see regular ipad or samsung tab, i feel like i wasted my money. but i use the ipad pro m1 for video editing and its fast, so that gives me relief. aside that, most of the features on the ipad pro not really worth it, regular ipad or this samsung tab is good for most users.
tbh i was alittle dissapointed with the ipad pro because reviewers overhyped it. i had too high hopes. my 50 usd speaker is way better, and the screen isnt really very bright for outdoor. this was my first ipad pro and i was disappointed, but still like it because of video editing. i still believe its a better deal than buying similarly priced phones tho.

I only use a tablet when I'm traveling and need to watch movies/shows (with ANC headphones on) - so i think the tab A8 should do just fine.

I had a budget Galaxy Tab a 10.1 and I was considering buying this A8, but you kinda refreshed my memory on why it annoyed me so much: it was slow, laggy. Seeing how the Tab A8 suffers from the same issue, I would def go for the iPad. I wish I could afford the more expensive Galaxy Tabs, but hey I have to stay within my budget. Thanks for the review!

@@swagdtrain3574 I saw some gaming tests for the Tab A8. Games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 run well (albeit on lower settings), while games like Genshin Impact struggle even on the lowest settings. It's okay if you're not a hardcore gamer, however I highly doubt you will be able to play any future releases at reasonable framerates. I'm not fond of iOS either, however even the cheapest iPad will run every game for years to come.

In my country the wi-fi versions of the A8 and ipad 9 are both priced OK, but the ipad 9 suddenly cost almost double here if I want LTE/4G feature, which I need. I wish there was a way to get around that :( A cheap adapter perhaps? Probably awful to carry around though.

In India, the price difference between base model of A8 and IPad 9 is over $100. Makes choosing one pretty difficult.
In the Netherlands the best price for the cheapest model Tab A8 right now is €194 while the cheapest iPad9 is €389. That's double the price and not a realistic comparison at all because obviously the iPad will outperform a budget tablet.
In my country the Tab A8 is priced at about 180€, where the iPad 9 is priced at 380€.

I am a solid Android fan when it comes to my phones. But as great as the Tab A8 is, I still prefer the iPad 9 simply because of stylus support and Procreate.

The IPad actually does Multitasking easier and more smoother than on Samsungs One UI 3. I found that my new IPad 9 just works and does everything I need it to compared to my 2019 Samsung Tab A 10.1 128GB Model
@@typhoon_8086 what the hell are you talking about?? Samsung has 100 times better multitasking, you are just comparing a 2019 tablet that costs 200 dollars, to a 330 dollars 2021 tablet. I have a Samsung phone and an ipad 8,and my phone has much much much better multitasking even tho I have a smaller screen
@@Hamox the MSRP of the Tab A is actually $300, I just paid $200 since it was on sale. Also, Multitasking is easier on the IPad because you have 3 little dots on the tops of every app that shows you where you want to place an app that you are multitasking with. You should try it! On my Tab A it's laggy and not as seamless

Thankyou so much! I was planning to shift from traditional art to digital art and was confused between the entry level tablets that apple and Samsung provide. This genuinely helped me a lot to decide and go for the iPad 9, your videos are of great help!!
But the only disadvantage you get with ipad 9 is that you don't have place to put the apple pencil and you have to charge it using lightning port apart from this you have to spend another $100 to buy apple pencil. But you can go with S7 FE where s pen is included in the box and it has larger 12.4 inch display with very narrow bezels than ipad and it's almost the same price and I have been using it for almost 20 days, I bought it for $400 in india during amazon sale. The one and only disadvantage of S7 FE is that headphone jack is missing and it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner which is replaced by face recognition

@@typhoon_8086 For a larger 12.4 inches display with narrow bezels whereas you get 10.2 inches with bezels on ipad.For a S pen which is included in the box, and not spend and another $100 on apple pencil. To store the s pen on side and back with magnets. S pen doesn't need to be charged. iPad 9th gen supports only 1st gen apple pencil and has to be charged through the lightning port and no place to store the apple pencil without using a case. 778G is a very power efficient processor when compared to a13 bionic.

The IPad is cheaper to fix due to it's Non Laminated Display, the Chipset will future proof the device for at least 5-7 years while the Samsung will last maybe around 3-4. Also who CARES about bezels? The IPad 9 has a Fingerprint sensor while Samsung only has an unreliable Face Unlock. Also, I can just buy a $10-$20 case and store my Stylus and IPad while also protecting it. The Tab S7 FE is just not worth the extra $150-$200 when the IPad offers the SAME Tablet and Pencil experience for much less. Plus their are no Samsung Stores in Hawaii, but there are 3 Apple Stores here. I can easily replace the battery in my IPad 9 which will make the battery life feel fresh again
@@typhoon_8086 It's true that apple offers more software updates than samsung but you are wrong the apple pencil 1st gen doesn't offer the same experience as s pen. S pen is much better because it's pressure sensitive, and also it actually feels like writing on a paper with much less latency than apple pencil. And when it comes to face unlock, all the ipad pro models also have face id. It's user preference and cannot be a pro or con. For The one who consumes a lot of media, it does matter and the display size also matters. So for an artist buying S7 FE would be better. For a user who wants an overall good tablet, they should go for ipad 9.

Got a 64g iPad 9th gen for 269 on black Friday, and an a8 32g for 139 on cyber Monday. Build quality of the a8 really impressed me, but it's alot slower. Front video is way better on iPad as well.

The IPad may have an old design, but the user experience and performance is comparable to that of a flagship tablet like the IPad Air 4 and Pro and Samsung Tab S7/7+ for only $330
you can actually use the additional external memory storage for your applications on Samsung Galaxy Tab A8.
Ipad comes only in 64gb €389 256gb €559, the tab A8 128gb €300. Based on this and budget wise I would go for the Samsung.

Helpful BUT $300 for the iPad and $242.00 for the Tab A8. This may not seem to be a big difference for some people but i work hard for my money . it is a deal breaker for me. With this price difference it is hardly comparing apples to apples, pardon the pun. Also i am sure for most people it depends on what a fanboy you are. PS : I just saw some of your answers to comments and see you are an Apple fanboy so how in the world could you say something other than Apple was better?
As someone who has an older iPad and the a8 . The iPads are way better. There lightning responsive like it's a direct link between you're finger and what displayed on the page. While the tab a8 just has that little bit of lag between everything. Just ruins the experience .
I got a A8 tablet yesterday and im really happy. I mainly only play rocket league sideswipe and cod mobile and it runs both at a solod 60fps. So im happy. Its thin, aluminium built, feels premium. Has 4 speakers with atmos which is cool and still has headphone jack. I didmt even consider an ipad tbh, but either way im satisfied with the A8 Tab for the vost of 475. NZ$. Which is rather cheap for what ya get tbh

The A8 with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM is now on sale for $199 including a free case/cover here in the US at Costco. Not a bad deal, I am thinking of picking one up to try it out!

ipad 9 is best for the consumer, apple in my opinion rules the tablet market.
as an Android user my choose between this two is 256g ipad cause it doesn't support micro sd , it's powerfull and has a fingerprint , apple's ipad are amazing , unlike iphones , but tab s7 series are cool , tab s8 series are going to introduce tomorrow
I have tab s6 lite , the price is excellent now , with s pen and better hardware I think it's a better choice than ipad 9 , s pen and Samsung notes are just amazing , it's only reason I'm not switching to ipad
The Samsung Tab S7 Lite has an Exybos 9611 which is only a "Mid-Range" Processor while the IPad 9 has an A13 Bionic which is a Flagship Chipset. The IPad 9 also has a 12MP Front Camera and an 8MP Rear Camera. So hardware wise, the IPad is superior
The ipad with the a13 is much more powerfull its even more powerfull then the tab s8 with the snapdragon 8 gen 1 and that for 330 dollars!
Its all about cost per year for me. Apple wins easily.

Not sure if its just me or not but it is far from sluggish. I do have the 4gb ram version not sure if thats a big differemce compared to the 3gb 32gb model.

I work on night shift trafficnmanagemnt and all i do alotnof time is sit inna truck all night so i bring it along for netflix hotspot from my phone. Full charge using netflix only will last probably the whole night. 8pm to around 4am without issues thats 8 hours constant video playback display on non stop
I got the A8. And I bought a stylus that's cheaper than the iPad pen. Works great!

You forgot comparing prices : you won't find a 64GB LTE ipad 9 for less than 300 USD whereas you'll find a Tab A8 for that price... I agree that the ipad 9 hardware is better but a lot of people don't want to spend more than 300 USD for an entry level tablet... like me
The interesting thing about android tablets is that google is working on android 12L, which is gonna be a huge improvement for the tablet and large screen foldable phones experience on android
yeah if your tablet can even get an update in the first place. underpowered android tablets like this one will be lucky to get even one OS update.

the Tab A8 is a full-fat smartphone too, unlike the iPad (iPad supports the Apple pencil, though)
Bought an A8 for my mom. She loves streaming videos and basic app games. No need to get something so expensive such as the IPAD 9.

@@Adr._.ian20 IPad 9 is $400 CAD in Canada. I bought the Samsung A8 for $240 CAD on sale last week. I still saved $160 dollars. Mom doesn't care about drawing pictures, video games, or slightly crisper pictures. She wants good speakers, and the ability to watch Chinese Shows and play Mahjong game. Everything else is bells and whistles. Samsung A8 has quad speakers, they are so loud, it's like listening to sound from a stereo system. IPad doesn't have that.

@@Adr._.ian20 Not worth the extra cost. 6+ up years updates? All tablets would be out-of-date in 2 years and the batteries and mother board would probably be defected by then. I would rather just buy a brand new tablet.
@@tigerlee9613 well apple slows down the device for it to last longer for example take the air 2 its supported for the last 8 years yet it still perfoms okay ishwhile the battery being acceptable (7-8 hours)
FYI friends, to correct our friend, anything with the ability to plug into a hub, or even direct to external SSD has pretty much unlimited storage for files! That said, an SD slot is far more convenient, be it a lot slower than an SSD drive. At this point, we had SSD drives that are pretty darn small and can be attached right to the back of a device offering 1, 2 or even 4 TB's of storage dirt cheap. The world of tablets continues to get better. Start with apps you want. Android is useless if your favorite app isn't supported! Sadly, many great apps are still iOs only. :( Just keep it in mind.

Yeah but 4:3 aspect ratio sucks for watching videos. I wonder why they dont make 16:9 ipads. Watching a wide movie on iPad means half of your screen is useless.

anyway get the iPad , I have been using Samsung a8 for 2 years and its gone pretty slow sometimes hangs in the middle , So just get a iPad if you wish for 5 + years of usage
The A8 downfall is the CPU it comes from the worst chip company in the world which is Unisoc. This company is so bad and it makes cheap crap chips like the T610 on the A8 and the T618, T606 all are bad unlike the ipad 9 A13 bionic wich is a mighty flagship CPU.
If you want an Android tab avoid everything that doesn't has a Qualcomm snapdragon CPU.
Okay, tbh i like the tab a8 more bc im using one rn, and the performance is outstanding, not sluggish, so i think i would pick the tab a8 for me if i did not have one rn , but this is my opinion so idk what you would pick, but i like this tab a8 better😅

Its speed is lower than itnernal storage though, so you might experience slow boot of apps moved to SD card.

Am i the only one that genuinely prefers some bezel over the bezelless tablets? It gives you something to hold on to, and prevents accidental touches, and the physical home button is great!
Now to be fair, the iPad is like 1.5x the price.
Here I am in March 23. IPad9 is AU$519 (64GB) and A8 is AU$327 (64GB). In my mind that's almost half the price and that makes comparing them like comparing apples and oranges. I mean what would be the point of comparing a $30,000 car to a $50,000 car? They are clearly in different leagues.

ipad 9 is a very good device. I bought it un the end of 21. then i sold it and took Tab s7. For my job galaxy is better. but apple ecosystem is very very good.
I had an a8 and it was terrible, slowed down after 1 month and it was terrible. Don't buy galaxy tabs they'll slow down after 1 month and you'll be frustrated go buy an iPad it's better.

It will "survive" for sure - but it's already not as smooth as the iPad 9. You can accomplish the same things (for the most part) but as I mentioned, the user-experience is difference.
It is only two years of full updates and one year of security updates. The S line currently gets three years but rumours that it will be extended to four at the Galaxy Unpacked event.

Both will work - but if your main objective is "long lasting" I would give the edge to the iPad 9

Actually the micro sd card on a8 can be used to store most apps but not the stock android apps.
It’ll be in my updated review. For some reason - the apps were getting stuck at 90% (on all 3 new tablets). But now they work. I appreciate it!
galaxy tab a8 and a7 are almost the same except the a8 is more modern but the a7's price is way better, i've been using the a7 myself and the durability is crap
I broke my iPad that my college gave me and can only find the A8 as a replacement. I’m not an avid user and never even had a tablet until I entered college, will I notice to much of a quality difference when completing school work and watching RUclips and multitasking on it? ( the ipad was amazing at multitasking)
why do you need to wear finger gloves when playing game on Samsung tab A8?
You don’t need to. I now wear them anytime I play because I can slide my thumbs faster. Hope that helps.

tab a8 is HORRIBLE 😭 got one today and idk how samusung shamelessly releases laggy devices like this.. like I could never recommend it if you are wondering what to get, get an iPad

I have both, and after having ipads and iPhone for years, I decided to have a change and I found I absolutely hate the Galaxy Tab A8. It is infuriating. So many inconveniences in it.

ANDROD NEEDS A CALLING SYSTEM AS SIMPLE AS IPADS TABLETS NEED 0HONE NUMBERS WITHOUT CONNECTING A PHONE LIOE IPAD ALSO FACETIM A IMESSAGE IS EASIER
I'm looking to buy a budget tablet for my brother for his office work and daily CODM gaming. I need help making the decision. Note, there are cheaper chinese options with better features but I'd rather not get them.
Here in India, the Tab A8 is around $213 and the iPad 9 is around $356. And if we add the cost of the Apple pencil, it goes up to $450 for the 64gb models. The Tab A8 is literally half the cost of iPad 9. But Amazon India has hinted at a decent discount for both these devices during the upcoming Prime Day sale on 23rd and 24th July.
The Bluetooth version 4.2 on the iPad 9 is a huge deal breaker for me, since it was invented during ancient times at around 10000 B.C., when the pyramids were built (exaggerating obviously!). Also the lack of stereo speakers is not helping either. The 64 gb storage seems restrictive for long term usage since apps are becoming more storage intensive. Apple is also guilty for performance throttling older devices. All these reasons make me wanna run away from Apple lol.
I'm a long time Android user and I'm currently using a flagship Samsung Galaxy S20+ smartphone which I still love. I want a similar experience for my brother and the iPad 9 seems appealing. My brother is leaning towards the Tab A8 due it's price. I can't decide between the two. Does the 2 times price justify buying the iPad 9? Based on leaks and rumours, Apple is probably gonna release the iPad 10 with significant upgrades this September, albeit at a higher cost. Should I wait for it?
Please help. Any advise is appreciated.

Well in Europe the iPad is more than double the price so kinda unfair comparison here
And Samsung promised only two Major OS updates for both tab A7 and A8. Only all S series and some A series devices (excluding tab A, A7 and A8) get 3 major OS updates.
I checked with Samsung and they said 3 years for this one. It's possible they gave me false information.

I read that the A8 is getting Android 14 in Feb of 2024.
