At first I was really struggling because I wanted an affordable tablet to be able to video output and kinda able to replace my PC to do some work, but then more videos I watched, I cleared my head, I realized that still, only PC can fully support my daily work needs, so if I still want a tablet, I'd mainly for entertainment purposes, so I went for the S9 FE! (With quite a huge discount lately). If you are also struggling, think of what you'll actually use the tablet for, even if it lacks/has more functions, doesn't mean the more is better for you, don't waste your money on something you don't need!
My 2019 13" Dell XPS is having bad battery and I can't find a replacement battery here where I live. I do my photo and video editing with that laptop at the office or at home, and recently I have to travel to remote fields and don't feel comfortable that the laptop needs constant power from an outlet. I feel that the S9FE+ would be a great sub for the laptop in taking notes and documenting my field work, and doing image or video editing with the laptop back at the office or at home. Would you think that this will be a good scenario? I've never had a tablet before. Thank you for sharing.
I am typing this on my S9+ FE and i can say through my multitasking, media consumption almost all day long, brightness on high, hasnt skipped a beat. I absolutely recommend! I love this and it was a great upgrade from my S7 FE

I was actually considering this as it seems to be snappy enough. I was looking to upgrade from my s7fe and glad the s9fe is crippled. With the promotion they had for the trade in and flash sale for the 512gb s9+ for Canadian Thanksgiving, I was able to get more than what I paid for the s7fe for the trade in and upgrade to the s9+ for just $550 cad (roughly $400 usd)
@@theWolfyugo Does that actually work well? I do have a chromecast but whenever I've tried casting from the PC to TV it seems to have a bit of delay, so using the mouse was terrible. I suppose another Android device would work better, so I guess it could be a good option.

I went with the S9 FE Plus. It had the feature that I wanted which was Smart View, where I can broadcast to my Samsung TV if I want. THAT was the main issue for me. Well, i was planning on getting the s8, but after watching this, i'll go for the s9 fe. It is 150 bucks less than the s8, the only specs worse than the plus model are display size, battery and ram. I wont play that much so i think i will use it for some years til i can buy a new one by myself.

Camera? Why not buy smartphone instead? But, if you insist with tablet, go to ipad or if samsung tablet is a must, tab s8 is still better than this "doubled" camera s9FE+..

Serius bummer that external display cannot be connected via USB-C and that Dex cant cast to a TV or monitor. Huge deal breaker for me as i use my Tab S7 with an external monitor in Dex mode quite a bit throughout my work day.

Yes. I had the s6 lite, purchased in 2020, used mainly for taking notes, streaming, reading and light gaming. I exchanged it for tab s9 fe plus, absolutely worth it. Much snappier, much better display, android 13, no lags. Totally worth it.

I’m looking this tablet a the Verizon store. I have IPads. But I use mine for work. The problem with Ipads is there browser and other browsers on iPad wont opened certain webpages. The Tab opens every webpage I need for work. The funny thing is the IPad is the recommended tablet.
@hallowas1457 I did I bought the S8 its been running smooth I do truck dispatching so it really holds up alot of my apps and I am constanly on a Skype call with my coworkers when charged to 100 I work from 6 am to 3 pm sometimes later and by 3 I usually have like 30 something left of battery charge. I am literally on it all day and it never lags or anything. Pretty happy with my decision
Bro i bought the S9 FE plus 5G variant, Just have one question to you. The S-Pen which we get along with the tab is not able to connect with my Tab is that ok or it's a defective S-Pen ? because in there official website it has mention that you can use that using Air command to connect with your S-pen. Can you please tell me your S-pen is also not able to connect with your tab, is it normal ?
This is because the S-pen that comes with the Fan Edition of Samsung tablets does not use Bluetooth, so the pencil does not require charging and any device that has the function of supporting an S-pen, you can use it with that another device. The S-pen that comes with these tablets is not bad, but it is not the one with which you can change slides by pressing the button and it only works when relatively close to the screen.
After testing it out myself for a short time I just didn't like it. I could have got any tablet so I thought this time that I wanted to get the big one. After using it and traveling with it, a 12 inch tablet just seemed too big and awkward to carry around. The 10.9 seemed to hit the sweet spot of size (the size of most modern hardcover novels) while not being too big and bulky but at the same time offering more room than any phone. As awkward as the + was I felt that I might as well just take the laptop along if I needed that much extra space to work.

That's really an awesome comparison video. I wish I would have seen this rather than other stupid comparisons before I bought S9 FE. I bought the tab mostly for my presentations and lectures, as I couldn't connect it to a HDMI projector, I was searching what's wrong with my new tablet. Now, after watching this very practical comparison, I know that I made a big mistake. Why I didn't come across this video before buying it. Man is there any hack to connect my S9 FE to HDMI projector? This will be a great help, as I don't want to spend money again on a new tab.

Great review. I know the FE doesn't support an external monitor output with their usb c 2 port but just a stupid question here...would it be possible to connect the FE with an usb c to hdmi hub and then connect to an external external monitor? Anyone tried if this if it works?
It won't work. It lacks the wired video output capability from the port itself. If you have a smart monitor like Samsung's own. It will let you use that as a wireless display. Which is probably enough for some users. Obviously, that will have a greater latency. It's better than not at all. Personally I find it a bit weird buying a tablet or a laptop for that matter if your primary display is always going to be an external one. I understand mobile workers using both.
How the heck can it not display out over hdmi? That makes no sense. My phones can do that with the cable i have. Is it just not while using DeX? Or is it just a black image if you even try?
I was excited for a new FE model because I made a huge mistake and bought S7 FE with 4GB RAM config and desperately want to get rid of it in favor of a tablet that can multitask, giving me a light laptop experience. And they rolled out yet another abomination that has more RAM but they expect people like me to pay for an inferior SoC. Samsung's corner cutting antics has become too much. Samsung is so keen on watering down their midrange models, all of their Chinese competitors have better specs at lower price points now. Not to mention, buying an M1 iPad Air, with an SoC that S9 Ultra out of water, is a choice at a tad higher price point to FEs for the last couple of years. Samsung gotta know that brand loyalty or One UI can get them so far... People will be mad and start to switch to alternatives.
@@fulanitxSo exynos is okay ? I have a hard time deciding to buy the S9Fe (the smaller version). I read all the comment below videos and everyone says exynos is crap aand it will maake the battery life ugly. I don't need the best performances but I do care about the battery life.

@@doctor_em I got the S9+ FE because it is the same size and the S7 FE. I enjoy the tad larger screen . I haven't noticed a delay in processing

I think what killed the FE for me was it cannot project to the TV. It's sad I have to pay that much more for the 9+ but it's something I want/need.

It seems the 5G model can be used as a phone and you can also connect using your data plan with your carrier.

Even though S7fe from 2021 with Snapdragon 778G kills down S9 Fe + from 2023 with Exynos 1380 waste it's just nerfed 😑

Guys, you can still use Chrome Remote Desktop to use the Dex on pc
Serius bummer that external display cannot be connected via USB-C and that Dex cant cast to a TV or monitor. Huge deal breaker for me as i use my Tab S7 with an external monitor in Dex mode quite a bit throughout my work day.
Sounds to me that this decision is only made because this tablet will steal away sales for their flagship tab s9 series
Not sure if the processor is powerful enough to do that.

My 2019 13" Dell XPS laptop is having bad battery and I can't find a replacement battery here where I live. I do my photo and lite video editing with that laptop at the office or at home, and recently I have to travel to remote fields and don't feel comfortable that the laptop needs constant power from an outlet. I feel that the S9FE+ would be a great sub for the laptop in taking notes and documenting my field work, and still able to do photo and simple video editing while on the go. Would you think that this will be a good scenario? I've never had a tablet before. Thank you for sharing.

Yes. I had the s6 lite, purchased in 2020, used mainly for taking notes, streaming, reading and light gaming. I exchanged it for tab s9 fe plus, absolutely worth it. Much snappier, much better display, android 13, no lags. Totally worth it.

I’m looking this tablet a the Verizon store. I have IPads. But I use mine for work. The problem with Ipads is there browser and other browsers on iPad wont opened certain webpages. The Tab opens every webpage I need for work. The funny thing is the IPad is the recommended tablet.

@hallowas1457 I did I bought the S8 its been running smooth I do truck dispatching so it really holds up alot of my apps and I am constanly on a Skype call with my coworkers when charged to 100 I work from 6 am to 3 pm sometimes later and by 3 I usually have like 30 something left of battery charge. I am literally on it all day and it never lags or anything.

Bro i bought the S9 FE plus 5G variant, Just have one question to you. The S-Pen which we get along with the tab is not able to connect with my Tab is that ok or it's a defective S-Pen ? because in there official website it has mention that you can use that using Air command to connect with your S-pen. Can you please tell me your S-pen is also not able to connect with your tab, is it normal ?
This is because the S-pen that comes with the Fan Edition of Samsung tablets does not use Bluetooth, so the pencil does not require charging and any device that has the function of supporting an S-pen, you can use it with that another device. The S-pen that comes with these tablets is not bad, but it is not the one with which you can change slides by pressing the button and it only works when relatively close to the screen.

After testing it out myself for a short time I just didn't like it. I could have got any tablet so I thought this time that I wanted to get the big one. After using it and traveling with it, a 12 inch tablet just seemed too big and awkward to carry around. The 10.9 seemed to hit the sweet spot of size (the size of most modern hardcover novels) while not being too big and bulky but at the same time offering more room than any phone. As awkward as the + was I felt that I might as well just take the laptop along if I needed that much extra space to work.

@@thalitachristine1218yes easily, spacedesk wirelessly, (superfisplay doesnt work with the s9s for some reason), duet, and some other apps easy canavs I think
appaently if you hotspot thether by usb to get wifi from laptop its no latency
I find it difficult to use Air Actions, i only use it for volume and skip music tracks.
Tab S7 FE from 2021 supports HRD10+. The Tab S9 FE does not.

That's really an awesome comparison video. I wish I would have seen this rather than other stupid comparisons before I bought S9 FE. I bought the tab mostly for my presentations and lectures, as I couldn't connect it to a HDMI projector, I was searching what's wrong with my new tablet. Now, after watching this very practical comparison, I know that I made a big mistake. Why I didn't come across this video before buying it. Man is there any hack to connect my S9 FE to HDMI projector? This will be a great help, as I don't want to spend money again on a new tab.

Great review. I know the FE doesn't support an external monitor output with their usb c 2 port but just a stupid question here...would it be possible to connect the FE with an usb c to hdmi hub and then connect to an external external monitor? Anyone tried if this if it works?

It won't work. It lacks the wired video output capability from the port itself.
If you have a smart monitor like Samsung's own. It will let you use that as a wireless display. Which is probably enough for some users. Obviously, that will have a greater latency. It's better than not at all.
Personally I find it a bit weird buying a tablet or a laptop for that matter if your primary display is always going to be an external one. I understand mobile workers using both.
How the heck can it not display out over hdmi? That makes no sense. My phones can do that with the cable i have. Is it just not while using DeX? Or is it just a black image if you even try?
Snapdragon 778g in the Tab S7 FE from 2021 beats the Exynos 1380 in the Tab S9 FE in 2023. Let that sink in.
I was excited for a new FE model because I made a huge mistake and bought S7 FE with 4GB RAM config and desperately want to get rid of it in favor of a tablet that can multitask, giving me a light laptop experience. And they rolled out yet another abomination that has more RAM but they expect people like me to pay for an inferior SoC.
Samsung's corner cutting antics has become too much. Samsung is so keen on watering down their midrange models, all of their Chinese competitors have better specs at lower price points now. Not to mention, buying an M1 iPad Air, with an SoC that S9 Ultra out of water, is a choice at a tad higher price point to FEs for the last couple of years. Samsung gotta know that brand loyalty or One UI can get them so far... People will be mad and start to switch to alternatives.

@@fulanitxSo exynos is okay ? I have a hard time deciding to buy the S9Fe (the smaller version). I read all the comment below videos and everyone says exynos is crap aand it will maake the battery life ugly. I don't need the best performances but I do care about the battery life.
