Great video. Thank you for sharing your tips and strategies. I've been setting some sound boundaries recently because with respect to your tip #5 I too have been feeling overwhelmed with all the content on my phone, social media, television etc. I have set an evening boundary phone and TV off downstairs between 7 and 8. When I go upstairs to my bedroom that is my 'safe zone' no food, no TV. My phone goes on do not disturb and I play a meditation or read a book, journal and then sleep. This was hard at first but has gotten easier over time. Love your videos!
Something that has been life-changing for me is accepting that goals change and that’s OK. Circumstances change, some goals just take longer, sometimes I realize what I wanted a year ago is no longer desirable. It’s not a failure to adjust goals as life goes along.
We often just focus on climbing higher and miss all the beautiful little things that are happening in our daily lives. Therefore, take a deep breath and feel the gratitude of being alive today❤ Have a nice day!
Dear Vera, thank you for being you. Your calmness and gentleness is like a medicine for me. Just when I'm having the worst day, bad weather, bad news, bad experience, unable to focus, getting so down, you come to remind me it's ok to feel that way. I'm not super human, I'm allowed to not being there all the time. It is not what others want from me, it is about not wanting everything from me. Thank you.
My current motto is "embrace the space" learning to sit more comfortably with single tasking mundane tasks, sitting for a minute and doing 'nothing' or taking some deep breaths.
I really appreciate your gentle and genuine personality, Vera. You feel like a kindred spirit, in part because I’m also an HSP and vegan, but also just in your presentation. I cut out most news, which helps decrease the stress load, but as a wildlife advocate, the cruelty is constant. Fortunately, I’m with several groups doin wonderful work and I’m helping our animals. Have a beautiful day and thank you so much:):):)
I find that silence has been so key to my well-being. I used to have music or the television on all of the time; now I find those things annoying at times, and really just want silence, especially when I've been overloaded with work, etc. Thank you as always for these great tips and reminders.
I really crave white space and yet I still find it uncomfortable because I'm a recovering productivity addict. I can drive home In silence, while I process my day and then sleep better. Alternatively, I can listen to academic audio books, come home more frazzled, not remember what I heard, and then lie awake processing my day because my mind needed that space. It's really a no brainer but it's my current area of discomfort to sit with silence.
@@louisehorsfall9400 I think we all have to find the way that uniquely works for us. I used to find music the thing that was most relaxing during my work commutes, but slowly that changed as I got older.
With your type of kindness & gentleness, it is possible that all of us could collectively create a Heaven on Earth! Thank you for this beautiful content Vera.
I watched a documentary on people becoming Buddhist and living in Plum Village. During this they had a retreat and someone asked about silence. This isn’t the exact quote but the person explained that “silence is a strong, powerful, and loud noise” . I never thought of it until I did my second job in silence. I didn’t listen to music or audio books, but just did my job and I felt so much better when I was through. I should say I clean my church so I am the only person there. It helped to realize how much input we gave in our lives every day as you said. I work at making sure I get this time every day, it’s refreshing!
Love, Love, Love this! I'm retired 3 years now and am just starting to take breaks from projects or chores during my days. When I worked and even when I was swamped, I still took breaks, usually a short walk around the building at least 3 times during my work day to unwind and recharge.
Oh my dear young lady. You are wise beyond your years. Whatever you went through has made you insightful, helpful and a beautiful human being. I am quite a bit older than you but can relate on so many levels. Thank you for sharing your experiences and helpful caring tips. And I have to mention how much I love the beautiful nature shots in your videos. Please keep up the meaningful work....you truly are a ray of sunshine!
Awe thank you so much D'Ann for leaving such a nice comment! It really made my morning 🤗💕🌷 Happy to hear you're enjoying my videos including the nature scenes. Have a wonderful day!!
Hi Vera. Listening to your point 5 I began to think about the difference between stillness and silence, understanding silence can help a person achieve stillness but is not necessary. As for unconventional or strange, realizing that we do, indeed, travel through life on our own, being among others who might or might not support us from their separate, private journey.
Hi Robert! Yes good point! Actually, I was also thinking about the difference between stillness and silence while I was filming this hahaha. It's like a thumb is a finger, but not all fingers are thumbs 🤔
I would say an important component of this is not blaming ourselves for our perfectionism or sensitivity. Most likely it developed in early childhood in response to an adverse experience. Something felt out of control so now we want (quite unerstandably) to be IN control as a coping mechanism. Try and hold yourself gently :) I know it's easier said than done.
I loved all of your points here and I agree with them completely and YES..what you said at 8:35...so true! This happened to me once with someone who called themselves my friend but then got upset with me when I did not invite her to a graduation event and then stopped talking to me nicely when I let my Facebook account go for a bit to detox. I eventually realized that this person was not meant to be a part of my life any longer and that that was truly okay. It wasn't my job to try to keep explaining and apologizing because her feelings were hurt. I'm not responsible for how other people might feel so I now remember that truth and I do not take on other people's hurt feelings. It's still hard. But overall, we are called to be loving toward others, even when they think differently then we might think about something. Here's my (5) things that changed my life forever! 1 Accepting Christ as my Lord & Savior🥰❤ 2 Living out my faith by trusting that God is there for me and seeking him 1st 3 Finding a church family who truly cares bc support is so uplifting :) 4 Beginning my minimalism jouney and purging probably 75% of what we own 5 Learning that you can't please everyone and getting peace with that
Everything you said so soothing. Moments of Silence help me so much to find peace and calmness. I have always loved your channel because you are such a genuine and beautiful person. God bless you my friend. 🙏🏻❤️
It’s funny because you were talking about marketing everywhere and it was cut by an ad 😄 I remember going home after 1 week hiking in nature, I was in the subway and I was feeling annoyed whithout knowing why. After I few stops I realized that I was reading all the ads that are displayed at every station, and each of them made me strongly react. I hadn’t seen an ad in a week, and suddenly I saw dozens. I was thinking stuff like « this is stupid » or « this is sexist » or « this is not how it works » etc. That’s what an ad is designed for ! They want to grab your attention so that you remember the brand. Even if they look stupid. Unfortunately I can’t remove the ads from the subway :) but I look at them differently now.
Vera, this video is perfect! You highlight beauty, serenity and peace with your words, scenes of nature and smile. Thank you for sending positivity out into the online world. ❤️ Suzy
#1 resonated with me. I have been feeling like I have nothing to show for myself when it comes to my professional life, so I have definitely succumbed to my self-worth being based on condition.
Happy to hear it resonated with you :) You know, there's no real need to have something to 'show for' in my opinion, as long as you're living a happy life :) I think that part of life gets talked about too much. You're already 100% good enough just as you are right now, with the things you're doing right now. 🌷💕
What a great and inspiring video once again. I agree with all your points. Perfectionism and fear of failure especially are both beliefs that have very much limited me in my life. And that's exactly what I'm trying to change now. And yes to moments in silence.. I personally need some peace and quiet and moments of stillness to function better. Thank you Vera. ♥️
I think it's also important what media we consume and that we should be deciding what we want to consume. That's why I prefer youtube over everything because I can choose actively what and who i want to watch. This doesn't happen in the case of tiktok, instagram etc. And it's important who we decide to watch, as I find your videos really soothing and if I hear your voice in my head later on it's not a problem haha! Thank you for the videos, keep on doing good job :)
I was just thinking the other day how we're all mostly consuming content whether intentional or not. Sitting in silence is something I like to do in the morning when I wake up for a few minutes before I start my day. I highly recommend!
Thanks Vera for sharing. I also struggle with perfectionism. Now that I'm older I have backed off some but it's a work in progress. Vera you are such a beautiful young woman and a great inspiration.❤
Very inspiring video and a good reminder of some of the things that can really impact our wellbeing for the better. One thing that changed my life forever was the concept of self compassion. Whilst I still have a long way to go to really integrate it into my life, it has made a huge difference.
Vera, I must let you know, there is some magic in this particular video of yours! I have watched it several times now and you've posted it just 9 days ago! Its a piwerful one. Really full of wisdom, purity and calmness. There is lots of assurity in it too, that things can be okay. Thank you for what you do! You are that spot of calmness in my day that I've always needed. As in my current season of life, I don't get much of it. But your channel is a big help. Sending you lots of love and prayers.
Thank you so much, that's so nice to hear :) I really loved filming this one too, so I agree there's something special haha, don't really know what though. So happy you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your reminder about I don't have to be on all the time I have an off switch Vera I definitely am adopting this from now onwards. I like to switch off my door buzzer for peace and turn my phone on silent 🤫 when I want to chill thanks for Sharing Vera 😘
You're very welcome Deborah! YES, I also switch off my door buzzer sometimes haha. Next time you switch off the door or your phone, use it as a reminder to use your own off switch for a little while as well :)
Hi Vera! What you said about the silence thing, I'd love to just listen to the sound of silence but I find it very alien as, like most people I have to have something to stimulate my mind and as a consequence my mind just wanders off a lot and I can't concentrate for long. Also, some thing I've learnt that have changed my outlook on life is: * Happiness is a choice * The only person that can change things for you in your life, is you * Contrast to the happiness thing, its OK not to be OK and when someone says don't cry or don't be angry, don't listen. Be angry, cry, scream, whatever get is out of your system (within reason) and then you cleanse reset and try again * You can either learn or win, you never fail Much love, Chloe xx ❤️
Hi. If you want to welcome silence in your life. Go down to the beach sit silently listening to the waves. As time goes on, you will be acclimatised to silence...
Thanks for sharing Chloe, love your input too!! About silence and quieting the mind, it's actually really normal for the mind to start chatting when you sit still. Basically, it always does that, but now you're becoming aware of it. So the point isn't really do quiet the mind and get rid of any distractions and thoughts. The point is more to just sit with the thoughts and observe them as an outside observer, instead of being consumed by them. After a while, sometimes you'll notice the mind becomes a bit quieter. And sometimes not :) Both are fine. :) Also, if you do have access to a beach, I can see that being really lovely :)
I can definitely resonate with the whole idea of overconsumption when it comes to my media usage, especially with RUclips or even Instagram on occasion. It really just triggers all sorts of anxiety induced emotions, and what doesn't make this any easier for me to combat this is when life outside of the Internet becomes too much for me to handle. If there's one thing though that helps me when all else fails, it's just talking about it to someone, whether it's someone in my family or my boyfriend. Thank you for the valuable information and insights in this video, Vera ❤
My favorite moments of stillness are best enjoyed around water, be it lakes, rivers, oceans, or ponds. I also love savoring the magnificence of sunsets around the world. There's no other moment of the day that's quite so magical.
Definitely each of the 5 points you mentioned I struggle to keep in check sometimes, especially with being on my phone too often, knowing well how marketing can just be everywhere when I don't actively notice it and try to ignore it and with perfectionism. Although I feel with perfectionism I do really try to stick with just doing my best and knowing that for most people it will be more than enough of an effort with the quality of my work, productivity etc, rather than my internal sky high perfect expectations, which only stresses me out unnecessarily. Thank you for another great video Vera, exactly when I needed to take all the advice on board the most.
Hi Vera I completely agree with you. I don't take calls. My cell always on silence. Notifications all off. Or silent. When I have time I watch my subs yutube videos. All my clients i teach them how I want to be treated. They all don't like inirialy. But, bcs Im Excelent at what I do. They stick with me. Thanks for this and all videos you share.
All what you said is so true ❤️ For me game changers are: saying out loud! how I feel. It is so great, f.e. I say: I'm so tired of this cleaning, and I feel so unmotivated, so helpless, please, do understand me, clean the room and I go for a walk, and get out of a room when I'm really angry (what is difficult is to catch that moment beforehand and actually leave the room instead of getting into fight with words) and joga. That changed a lot.
Hi I'm from Indonesia and i have been following you for quite some time! I just wanna say you're my favorite minimalist influencer because when I was trying to follow others, they were so strict and must do this and that 😭 your videos are very realistic and patient towards our minimalism journey and i love it so much! Rn I gradually decluttering alot of my stuffs and being mindfully conscious ab my decisions! Your stories are so much more relatable, the burnout, the struggles, etc! I wish to live where you live bc it seems like it's fitting to my preferences as well, even tho I'm an extrovert! Anyways so far I'm glad I took control of my stuffs and changing it much better than i was before because of your videos! 🥰 I never comment before 😂 but you deserve so much recognition than what you have rn. Thanks alot! 💕
Hi Vera.. Great.. Duration of video is very important. 10/12 minutes are enough to say. It's your beauty. You keep ahead of us exact point. Less requirements, unconditional acceptance gives me happiness inside... Thanks a lot 🎉🎉 enjoy 👍
Most Videos you watch it and delete and forget about it. Your Videos are for watching several times, because there is so much in it in good way. Still not easy for me to be less active than others and to feel not weak about it.But getting better with the feeling not being alone.
It took me a long time but sleeping isn't lazy it's what my body needs, gap year or even higher education wasn't a choice for me I had to work to live. I'm happy to lurn from you xx
Thank you Vera, this video has been very meaningful. You said that you have practiced letting go of your perfectionism. Would you like to share some practices that have helped you with that goal? I would really appreciate it!
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video Gessica! :) I have an older video where I talked all about how I let go of my perfectionism, you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/ig_ZyptMP1A/видео.html
While my depression therapy, I had music therapy. We have to choosen one instrument and let go. This was horrable for me. I want to make nice musik. I want to learn how to do it! I been so understanding your younger you! Best wishes 🙋🏼♀️🌈
I had to cut the news out ages ago. I have found that most things to do with the news aren’t necessary for me to ever even know about at all. Another thing I’ve learned is that someone will be saying something about it somewhere if it’s important enough for me to be aware of. And yet most times, I really didn’t even need to know anyways. I just carry on with my mostly “news” free life and there isn’t really one detrimental thing about it. Besides “news” these days is just another fancy word for gossip and people just slandering other people and a lot of folks running conspiracy theories and creating so much conjecture and at times people just starting unnecessary drama. (Lol. Yes. I live in the US). I find it utterly pointless and annoying anymore. The most recent thing I did was discover just how much I could block on FB. Lol. (I have so little use for it these days anyways and I find it so “tired). Block. Unfollow. Snooze. Delete ads. Just like decluttering “stuff” in my home, it really made a huge difference with what now comes to the forefront on my news roll. I had already nixed highly toxic people and posts but there was still a lot of pointless fodder going on there that was both annoying and distracting.
@@SimpleHappyZen So true. The song “Jamming Me” by Tom Petty comes to mind there also. Lol. I think it’s perfectly fine to get angry enough about it to stop the madness. As the song says....give ‘em all some place to go...🤣🤣 Some of them I had to also give my middle finger to...on their way out of my life. Lolol. And yah. ZERO regrets about any of it.
How do you quiet the noise in your mind, when you are trying to be still and being in the moment? I am having a hard time silencing the chatter in my mind! I do yoga and meditation, to no avail. Any helpful hints and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Maria! About silence and quieting the mind, it's actually really normal for the mind to start chatting when you sit still. Basically, it always does that, but now you're becoming aware of it. As a Christian we are called to be set apart and NOT to follow what the rest of the world is doing. So we take rest in not following the crowds or the new trends. Also I used to be hard on myself always busy and I had a burn out. I have learned self care and now that my house is declutterd I don't have to worry much my house stays clean.

Aw thank you Cathy!! :) Haha yes it continues to be a work in progress :) you're awesome for working on it!
Thank you! This video was great! Many of the things I have discovered over the past few years! Glad I am not alone on my path!
Happy to hear it! :) Have a nice day today
Very inspiring video and a good reminder of some of the things that can really impact our wellbeing for the better. One thing that changed my life forever was the concept of self compassion. Whilst I still have a long way to go to really integrate it into my life, it has made a huge difference.
Yes! Love it :) thanks for sharing
Your story about your 6 year old self made me think of the saying “Dance like nobody’s watching”.
💞💃🏼🥳
Yes exactly haha :)
Eversince I’ve let go of perfectionism, life seems full of possibilities and can relate so much to your story from childhood. Lots of love.
Exactly!! :) Happy to hear it :) Have a lovely day!
I've been following your lovely channel for about a year, and I think that was my favorite video! I will definitely watch it again! Thank you 🌻💫💜
Yay, thank you so much Netta, that's nice to hear!
Also, some thing I've learnt that have changed my outlook on life is:
* Happiness is a choice
* The only person that can change things for you in your life, is you
* Contrast to the happiness thing, its OK not to be OK and when someone says don't cry or don't be angry, don't listen. Be angry, cry, scream, whatever get is out of your system (within reason) and then you cleanse reset and try again
* You can either learn or win, you never fail
Much love, Chloe xx ❤️
Also, if you do have access to a beach, I can see that being really lovely :)
Awe thanks guys, I will take that on board x ❤️
I can definitely resonate with the whole idea of overconsumption when it comes to my media usage, especially with RUclips or even Instagram on occasion. It really just triggers all sorts of anxiety induced emotions, and what doesn't make this any easier for me to combat this is when life outside of the Internet becomes too much for me to handle. If there's one thing though that helps me when all else fails, it's just talking about it to someone, whether it's someone in my family or my boyfriend. Thank you for the valuable information and insights in this video, Vera ❤
I agree, thanks Amy! :) And yes, talking about things can be so healing :)
You are a beautiful soul and I just wanted to thank you for such a meaningful video that I can share with somebody special who needs to hear this. 💞
Aw thank you so much Jenny!! 🤗🍵🌷
Words of wisdom 🙏 You and Kyra are my favorite minimalisam/vegan/inspirational..All in one🥰
Thank you so much Sanja!!! 😄🌷💕 I loved Kyra's video about this topic too
My favorite moments of stillness are best enjoyed around water, be it lakes, rivers, oceans, or ponds. I also love savoring the magnificence of sunsets around the world. There's no other moment of the day that's quite so magical.
Yes, so lovely! Water always has a calming effect on me as well
Definitely each of the 5 points you mentioned I struggle to keep in check sometimes, especially with being on my phone too often, knowing well how marketing can just be everywhere when I don't actively notice it and try to ignore it and with perfectionism.
So happy to hear you enjoyed the video and that it resonated with you 🤗🌿🌷 Have a lovely day!
Thank you Vera, for your calming thoughts/content. I felt so great just listening to you today!
Aw thank you Jenny, that's so nice to hear :) Have a happy Monday!
Hi Vera, I think this is one of your best videos. I smiled when you said “instant magic.” I’m a big believer in silence, too.
Aw thank you Kim, that's so nice to hear! :) Have a wonderful day
Vera, I absolutely loved every word of this. I can relate so much to all your little stories and insights. Thank you 🙏💕
Hi Vera
I completely agree with you.
Love what you shared about communicating how you feel :)
That is an excellent video! The pressure on us is very real. We must teach ourselves to switch off! 😘
I agree! :) Thanks Mary, have a great day!
I never comment before 😂 but you deserve so much recognition than what you have rn. Thanks alot! 💕
Thank you so much for your kind comment!! I really appreciate it :) Take care my friend and have a lovely day!
talking about skin products: what are you using? Your skin looks amazing!!
Hi Vera.. Great.. Duration of video is very important. 10/12 minutes are enough to say. It's your beauty. You keep ahead of us exact point.
Less requirements, unconditional acceptance gives me happiness inside...
Thanks a lot 🎉🎉 enjoy 👍
Thank you so much, that means a lot!! :) Have a wonderful day
Thanks Vera. You are looking radiant. x

Thank you so much! :)
Beautiful. Very humbling and inspirational! 💃🏻☯🕉💖
Thank you so much Shannon 🤗🌷 Have a happy day today!
Most Videos you watch it and delete and forget about it. Your Videos are for watching several times, because there is so much in it in good way. Still not easy for me to be less active than others and to feel not weak about it.But getting better with the feeling not being alone.
Aw thank you Ines, I appreciate that :) Changing things like that take practice, so you're doing amazing!
Thanks! gland to find your channel 💗💗💗
Thank you Fatima! :)
You do you! That's why you are you.. 😃💖 Do what feels right. 🍵☀️🌱

Your dance party story is sweet. ❤
You don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're not.
― Jodi Picoult
Or even because they're not! :)
Cutting news out ( but not 100%) and not having political discussions (although it's inevitable sometimes) helped me a lot.
Love that! :)
Beautiful content. Thank you very much 😊
Thank you!! :)
Very inspiring.
Thank you Steffen! :)
@@SimpleHappyZen This is great Vera! Thank you for being so attentive in helping us:) ! I will watch the video that you suggest!
You don't need all of those "beauty" products. You are lovely as you are.
Thanks!!!
You're very welcome :) Have a lovely day!
I feel there is no silence anymore, I live in a suburb and I just want to escape to the country somewhere. It's very difficult to find some quiet.
While my depression therapy, I had music therapy. We have to choosen one instrument and let go. This was horrable for me. I want to make nice musik. I want to learn how to do it! I been so understanding your younger you!
Best wishes 🙋🏼♀️🌈
Ah yes I totally get that!!! I would've felt the same probably haha
Hi Vera. Beautiful person. Thanky for your vids. Have an Excellent DAY....
Thank you so much Marie 🤗🍃 You have a wonderful day as well!
I would be interested in hearing more of why you did not go for your drivers license. As I myself do not have one ether.
your beauty is pleasant to the eye.
Lovely Video ♡
Thank you so much Molly, have a nice day!
You are just so beautiful. You just sparkle with health and well being.
Aw thank you Lynn for your kind words :) Take care and have a lovely day!
Where can I find your video about your burnout journey as mention in this video?
Thanks for sharing! Yes being mindful of our consumption of news and social media can make a huge difference :)
Excellent
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it :)
U look so pretty
Thank you, that's so sweet :)
I worked part time 10 years ago when it was not such a cool thing to do than nower days.
How do we convince society that we have worth without producing anything?
How do you quiet the noise in your mind, when you are trying to be still and being in the moment? I am having a hard time silencing the chatter in my mind! I do yoga and meditation, to no avail. Any helpful hints and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
A suggestion from Eckhart Tolle is to ask yourself, "I wonder what my next thought will be?" It forces your mind to pause.
Hi Maria! About silence and quieting the mind, it's actually really normal for the mind to start chatting when you sit still. Basically, it always does that, but now you're becoming aware of it. So the point isn't really do quiet the mind and get rid of any distractions and thoughts. And sometimes not :) Both are fine. :) Also, I like the suggestion from Opal Chatmon
❤❤❤
I submitted refund request but no reply from you, Vera, could you please check?
Hi Ali. I received your request February 9th, and made sure to complete the refund on February 10th. I've also sent you a confirmation email about that. Maybe my email got lost in your spam folder?
