    Still Life:
    "I sat on the grass with someone there, I sat on the grass with someone who loved me. I've never seen her again and I don't think I'll ever see that place I went, far, far away."
    Blackwater Park:
    "Sometimes you come home, and there's no one in. There are no lights on. No food ready. No telly. No one laughing. No jokes. Just you, on your own. That's when my brain starts doing things. You know, murderers and mad dog stuff."
    Deliverance:
    "There was an awful yelling and crying. There was the noise of chains rattling and someone shouting. Suddenly the man came running onto the stage in front of the curtains. All his clothes were torn, there was blood on his face, and he screamed, "Quick! Get out! Get out of here!"
    Ghost Reveries:
    "It was on the end of a string. And he starts swinging the conker to and fro in front of Trevor's eyes. And he starts up, talking in a spooky voice: Watch the conker. Watch the conker. Go to sleep. Go to sleep..."

    Heritage is a fucking Masterpiece. The negativity about that album revolved around “true fans that forgot they where 11 years into the 21st Century” Thinking we were frozen in time and expecting thins to always remain the same. Heritage is an album for people that actually listen to more than only metal… like Mikael Arkerfeldt shurely does. It’s for people that actually understand the “prog” part in “prog death metal”

    • @ElliYeetYT
      @ElliYeetYT  2 года назад +1

      They were not even Prog death metal at that point with Heritage, they transitioned into just Prog with that album. Not against that idea but I wish it was as good as In Cauda Venenum.

      Blackwater Park and Ghost Reveries are the best of their death metal + mellow clean vocals albums. Damnation/Deliverance are also standouts and complement each other well.
      They shifted their style to all clean vocals starting with Heritage (which is their most forgettable imo) and have been improving with each new album. Their newest, In Cauda Venenum, was released both in Swedish and English, and I think it's their best from their current era.
