Greetings from Florida, great method for spooling. I keep two large inexpensive old reels from before starting to buy the good stuff, when some of the expensive line gets a bit worn I put it on one reel, then another so the worn line is tied to the spool and the good line which never saw the light of day is now on top. A few years ago I started using athletic tape instead of electrical tape (some say water sits under electrical tape, don't know). One lap of the athletic tape works fine and it's very tacky. Recently a neighbor kid brought me his spinning reel he had gotten for his birthday a few months before, when you would turn the handle the line would come off instead onto the reel. The guy at the tackle shop had obviously put the spool on the spooling machine backwards... oh boy.
I've had people mention not to use electrical tape too..but I've not yet had an issue..some people say the glue on the electrical tape can corrode the aluminium spool..but I've not encountered that yet..
@@AnglingAddictssrilanka Agreed, I never noticed any problem with the electrical tape. Wishing you a great 2024 and looking forward to seeing your new videos.
Hi.. lovely videos... can you kindly assist in how to do lure casting in fast shallow beach waters and cross winds with special reference to productive lures under these conditions. Thanks
Hi, there is no hard and fast rule. if casting fast moving shallow water, then i'd use a spoon. it would be easier to work a spoon in the current rather than a stick bait. weight of the spoon would depend on how fast the water is going. maybe something in the 30-40g range. spoon will also cast well in strong winds.
Hi, need some advise on choosing a rod suitable for both surf casting and inshore angling in Srilanka . What I have in mind is the Tubertini Black water , medium heavy rod size 2.7 Mtrs, 2 sections , power 15÷45g. Coupled with the Shimano twinpower spinner .
Hi, the rod and reel you have chosen already is great. I would recommend the twinpower XD 5000xg. it will balance the rod well reel has enough power to tackle fairly big fish. Good luck..
