- This video shows how I tie my braid line straight to the spool. I have never had an issue with the line slipping and I've done 100's of reels the same way. Great way to confidently get the maximum amount of braid on your spool 👌
Perfect video, short, sweet and to the point without telling us about your third grade teacher. More people should follow your lead!!!
Exactly!!!
I wana hear about third grade teacher …
@@Abraxastrust That's on the other channel.
@@Abraxastrustyou are a minority
I like videos like this, because they get straight to the point, and they don't talk about the dreams they had last night.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks mate, exactly what I was trying to achieve 👌
Wrapping around the spool atleast (at a minimum 4 to 5 times) before pulling knot tight is the key for it not to slip! I benefited from this video! best braid to spool knot video by far
Awesome mate, I'm so glad. Yes, the multiple wraps around the spool are key to getting the purchase required for running decent drag with braid straight to the spool 👌
Every reel I get now has spools designed to take braid. They put marks and different things so the braid won’t slip. I used to back up my reels with some mono but now I don’t do that anymore
I spent an hour trying to tie a knot from different videos... first try and I get an amazing knot here! Thanks so much!
5 years later, it is easy to follow and works great no issues. Thank you 😊
Nice I used it on 2 spools and I think I got this for the rest of my life, thanks!!!
Amazing video, like how somone as stupid as me, understood it rigth away, good job, you should become a teatcher
Super simple, easy to follow, no BS. Love this video.
Awesome mate, that was the exact idea behind filming these knot videos. Clear, easy, no BS 👌🎣🐟 Tight lines
Great video! Short, sweet, to the point. No fluff and BS. Great knot to boot!
Thanks much for the tutorial! My dad, father in law, and I all benefitted from it!
Awesome mate, I'm so glad. Exactly what I hoped to achieve when I filmed these videos, to help people be confident in their knots and enjoy their fishing 👌🎣🐟
I like the idea of wrapping electrical tape around the spool two times . Good job .
wrapping with bandage tape really helps prevent slips?
I haven't seen anyone load the line that way but that was about as straight forward as it gets. Glad I check your video and I will give that a whirl right now. Seeing that knot lock down on the reel and not spin sold me.
Works very well, every reel I own is spooled that way, plus 1000s of customers. Never once had an issue 👌 tight lines
@@Deanobravio Tight lines to you as well brother and thanks again.
Dude nifty trick!! Thanks for imparting the wisdom, never seen a better method for attaching braid straight to the reel!!
You're very welcome mate 👍 tight lines
Absolutely Knot haha biggest legend!
Thanks for sharing a very easy and simple yet strong knot! Brilliant! Tight lines 🎣
This video has it all without wasting my time, thank you
Awesome mate, thank you. That's exactly what I wanted these knot videos to be 👌
I’ve watched several videos and this method is by far the best. Thank you!
Awesome mate, thank you. Im glad its helped you 👍
Thanks for the awesome how to video 👍🏻 Worked perfectly with tying the braid on my reel. Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
thank you, the other videos failed but yours was the right solution for braided lines not slipping.
do u also put tape on it?
Thank you. Short, information straight to the point. No bs
Thank you
Perfect! Short and close-up video with just enough wording to convey the lesson.
Great way to tie your line to your reel thanks for the video
Thank you for getting right to the point without any BS
Never thought of doing a uni knot, definitely gonna start doing this for now on thanks for the advise
Mate i've struggled so much with different knots and non of them stick tightly on like this one. Was always nervous to put line on spool properly without anything messing up! thanks man foreal
You're welcome mate, it's the best way I've found, and I'm glad it worked for you too 👍
This is the ONLY knot out of ALL the others that would stay tied on my reel!!! I am using Berkley Solutions Braid 10lb. test with 2lb. diameter. I have a Lew’s Xfinity reel with the knurled spool for braided line and ALL the knots I tried would slip and come loose!!! Don’t know what it is about all these knots including this one but it’s the only one I got to work!!! Thanks a million as I was about to pull my hair out of my head!!!
Mate, im so glad it helped you get it sorted 👍
Nailed it. This is perfect!! I’ve just done 2 reels. Just hope I’ve got the tension right.
Spot on, zero fluff, all quality info
Wow. The things you think you know and then you learn something better! Appreciate it!
the dog barking in the background making me look around thinking it was my neighbours dog lololol! good vid thanks for the tip!
Facts same
Same here hahahaha good video
Best video yet for tieing braid. Thank you
A1 quality. Worked like a charm and I ran my line down to the knot with multiple fish. You should have more subscribers
Awesome mate, glad it worked for you, sounds like you had a serious battle on your hands 👍
@@Deanobravio lol! I've been fishing for half of my 26 years, but I took a 1-2 year break from it due to being an OTR trucker so I'm rusty. Long story short, I snagged enough on the bottom, damaged it on wood in the water and had to re tie far down the line , and switched lures so much that it ate up line quickly. Not your fault, I think I have a slightly smaller reel as well which doesn't help. I spooled a week or so ago and Im redoing it today
Also, you sound like the people from AUS Shark Tank. Compliment. Professional and friendly. They're a lot better than the American version on that note, but America is America right? L
You should have a bigger reel LoL
That was genius. Thanks for making this video. Very simple and totally works perfectly
ahhh, finally, a great technique. thanks for this!
Best method ever! Still use it to the day. Thanks man!
Dig it! Just tried it on my ultralight. Like the snug fit. Thanks!
Well I’m waaayyy to high 🍄 for this right now
Idk what I was thinking
“ gona drink a few of these beers eat these mushrooms then spool my reel 👍 “
Yeahhhhh no
By the way !! Great video brotha , I actually have this video saved and use it ever time I’m putting new braid on .
And yes I’ve never had one issue with this not once
Straight to the point and excellent angle on the video. Thanks!
Thank you mate. Thats one thing I try to make a point of, filming the knots in POV. That way, makes it much easier to follow and pause as you try 👌
Awesome! Thanks for this. Every other video I've come across demonstrated spooling braid with a mono backer. My braid will fill my reel though, so I didn't want to go buy mono just to stop slipping.
Perfect demo. Even I could follow it (and that’s saying something) thanks again
Once again, great vid bro. No BS no upselling just a good to the point video!
Thank you mate, really appreciate that. Exactly what I was trying to achieve 👍
This is dope tried a bunch of ways this is the quickest and I've been spooled twice and was able to land the fish....TIGHT LINES BOYS!!!
Unreal mate, that's great news!!!
That’s awesome man, works bloody well. Thanks for sharing an easier way 👌🏽
You're welcome mate, glad it helped you 👍
Thanks for this. Great video and info on how to do this.just did it and was both easy to do and effective. Thanks!
thank you for this video!
This method worked first try for me!
Thank you so much this video is the only one that has helped a beginner like myself. 👍
Real helpful straight to tha point. Thanks!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks man! This helped a lot.
Simple and effective, now mine wasn't quite as pretty but this is a solid method!
Cheers mate, great helpful video 👍
Wow! Glad I found this video thank you!
Very helpful for a braid ready spool.
Awesome technique, awesome instructions. Thank you.
You're welcome 👍
This is the one people. This works great and is easy
Very nicely done. yes short and sweet as one put it. Thanks NKY.
You're welcome 👌
Thanks a lot bro, this method is very effective👌👌👌
Thanks brother it's really good knot.Helpful me n hope to others too.🎣👍
Perfect thank you from Jamaica 🇯🇲
I like your knot.
I just got a Pflueger President reel I'll use on my Ugly Stik remake rod. Will that reel take braid (Spider Wire) without backer line? Both reel and line are in hand, but in separate piles.
Thanks buddy. Never seen that knot (im in UK). That was very helpful
What fish you catch in uk
thanks very much, short and to the point.
had to watch 3 or 4 times, keep looking out the window for my dog.
🤣🤣🤣👍
Very informative thank you
NOOO BS STR8 TO THE POINT!! THANX✊🏾✊🏾💪🏾💪🏾
4 years later and still helps me to this day!!!
i hate mono backing. do u also tape the braid?
Brilliant idea
I do the same thing except i don’t loop it around the reel more than once or twice, and then I tie the uni with just 3 over lanes instead of 6, so the knit isn’t so big. Been doing it like this for 20 years never had a problem. I sometimes don’t even use the tape. Just make sure it’s tight and you’ll probably be fine
Nice one big help thanks
Thank you worked perfectly
Nice and simple thanks
Great work thanks
dude thank you so much!!!
Perfect mate!
I just did an arbor knot with the piece of tape that came with the spool as an anchor, i hope that holds
Gonna spool my new Kast King reel this way with 15lb braid
great content!
Brilliant , i do it the same
love this
Legend thanks mate
Perfectly explained for a beginner
Awesome! Glad it was helpful 👌
If you use liquid tape instead it never needs replacing (unless you physically peel it off),doesn't get hot and gooey, and uses less space on the reel. You do want to remove every bit of it on the lips of the spool so your line doesn't catch and mess up the cast.
Baitcasters and conventional reels are much simpler to do.
I use it on every one of my reels.
Sounds great 👌
Really nice video well done..I subscribed to your channel
Thank you, much appreciated
Thanks man!!! You da shizzznit
Cheers mate 👍
can i use this same technique for mono line ? thanks
Spot on
Great video I like it. what do you do on a conventional reel where you can't just slip the loop over the spool?
Hi mate, I stick the tag down with a bit of sticky tape, turn the handle so it wraps the line around the spool 3 times then pick it off and tie my uni knot. I'll do a video for you, keep an eye out 👍
Thanks for that. What is a good Braided line for saltwater fishing to use in Mexico? Do you recommend fluorcarbon to Braid setup?
Hi John, I mostly use Unitika or Majorcraft Dangan braid. Both very high quality. As you will see, there are many different types of braids. And for the leader, yes usually using flurocarbon material for anything #6-#60, after that i usually use Mono shock leader 👍
Thank you.
What kinda pole was that? I’m just using standard poles I guess was looking for a good one
Do you have to put tape on the spool?
Thanks mate 🦾
Thanks
Super easy and looks like theres no need for fkin electric tape! Thanks
really dont need a tape? or i can also add tape on it?
Perfect
Great!!!
Thank you
thank u mate
dude this is the only way to do it.👍👍👍👍👍
Agreed 👍 🤙
Thanks for the tutorial. I still prefer to start with mono backing instead of electrical tape to prevent slippage and if I ever got spooled the mono would give some stretch, but I imagine if you're down to the last wrap of line the chance of landing the fish is pretty much nil. I say imagine because fortunately / unfortunately it's never happened to me.
That's just extra knots potentially or unpotentially going to fail lol. I don't want a mono knot to braid knot to mono knot or fluro lesser that's crazy
You can do all braid if you're going to get spooled you're getting spooled. Just doing a braid is fine.
@@oilrigfishinghi im doing the video tutorial is it okay to add tape too?
I tried something similar to this how do y'all keep the line from twisting
@TexasBorn-bp8mo twisting when spooling? So many variables, but perhaps check how the line is coming off the spool and also make sure the roller bearing in your bail arm is spinning free 👍
Im so tired of BCF tying my spool with new expensive braid using their high tech machine..... only to have the line catch on their 'bowl of noodles' knot... to the point where I think its by design so you end up replacing braid quickly... So despite their 'tech' machine I will only ever tie my own.
I guess it can be like any tool or machine, it still comes down to the operator and their abilities 👌🎣🐟
Nice
