@froxi078 I don’t really know these two, but Crosshair definitely is one of the clones with the deepest character. Afterall he hasn’t much screentime. Rex became my favorite only cuz of the last CW season and rebels tbh, he had a ton of screentime
The Character Arc Of Crosshair is One of The Best In Star Wars, And that's Saying Something. The Episode with Mayday is Some of The Best Star Wars Content I've ever seen. He says in the beginning that He doesn't want to carry "deadweight", But then at The End when Mayday is about to die, He doesn't leave His Brother behind and carries Him Back to Base. And when He kills The Lieutenant who is the most despicable character ever, it's so satisfying. He got what He deserved. That's when Crosshair truly sees how Evil and Cruel The Empire really is. What a Beautiful Character Arc.
It makes me so sad how little attention he was given on the show compated to how interesting he is as a character ( I would even say one of the most compelling and complex in recent medias ), he has so much potential for character storytelling and is litteraly the one aspect that kept me looking forward to the bad batch... Let's hope he becomes a main focus in Season 3 !🤞
Same here. It put me off bad batch altogether. If all care about is main figures we'll FRANKLY I don't give a SHIT about what have to watch. Just another corporal laundering business.
crosshair is the character that stood out to me the most. what a season for him, what a story and you captured that perfectly. this felt so freaking epic.
Love this so much! Crosshair is probably one of the most interesting Bad Batch characters. His development in the show has really been one of the greatest aspects of the series so far and you portrayed him so well.
When you first met him, you thought he was an asshole. But when you get to know him, he's that way cause everyone else was a bit of an asshole to him, expect Clone Force 99. It greatly implies that when Crosshair was shunned by the regs, making him feel rejected and hated by them, but Clone Force 99 gave him a place to call home. During the Empire, he began to feel a greater sense of alienation with the new human recruits, leading him to seek to the regs for comfort, most don't want anything to do with him, those that do, Crosshair etiheir worked well with them or would rush to save their life (which greatly contrasts his statement about leaving a reg behind, though ironically he didn't). Mayday was perhaps one of the first clones aside Cody and the Batch, he truly considered a friend, one that made him realize, despite their genetic differences, there were still his brothers.
The transitions and how you put all the scenes together are just fantastic, you never miss. Also have you thought about how when Hemlock was torturing Crosshair for the bad batches location how would crosshair know where pabu was?? Like he had no information on the location of clone force 99, obviously he had nothing to give.
Thanks! And I think he could've probably said they're working as mercenaries, and since the Empire knows about the Marauder I don't think it'd be impossible to put out bounties and narrow it down from there.
@@SWFT_edits there’s like millions of bounty hunter’s hunters tho, I guess people could spot out the marauder in the underworld tho, they should change there ship in all honesty
@@othervids3726having lack of TECH literally.. They were captured very quickly without his security in place, they all were vulnerable.. I don't want to think tech is gone 😔...
I’m so glad that Crosshair is starting to realize that the empire is evil. As much as I despise the LT he made Crosshsir realize that. Also ,if I remember correctly, we have never see him stun someone until Emerie so that was a big ,but welcome, surprise. He also realized that his squad will always be there for him even if they go different paths and remained loyal to them by not telling Hemlock where they are. Although he definitely seems loyal to the empire deep down he loves them, he just won’t really admit it yet. He’s definitely one of my all time favorite characters and I’m hoping we get to see more of him in season 3. [also when he shot the LT I literally cheered, I do wish Mayday survived but at least Crosshairs starting to deviate from the empire]
I wondered into some clips of Saving Private Ryan and I realized something heartbreaking: that was it. That moment on the Kaminoian platform where Crosshair rejected them and waited for over a month for the Empire to pick him up was the last time they were all together. “Understanding you does not mean that I agree with you.” Is the last time Tech and Crosshair ever spoke. At the end of the day, Tech died trying to save Crosshair from the Empire. Crosshair is going to know that for the rest of his life. The Bad Batch is Star Wars after all. That means that Crosshair gave into fear. The fear of what his life would be without being a soldier. The fear of how others would see him if they knew what he did. Much like Anakin. Crosshair gave into fear. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. And now his brother is dead.
His journey is amazing... and he currently is paying dearly for his sins.. .. I hope he is able to see a redemption arc.. and not leave in even more tragedy..
Finally got round to watch this carefully. As one Crosshair enthusiast to another I gotta hype you up for this one brother🙏🏻 As always love your whole visual and sound design, but especially how you put this whole video together. Obviously starting out with his chapter as a loyalist to the empire and ending with him redeeming himself - but the parallels and the scenes you’ve used for certain lines are just fantastic. “Why suffer more?” showing Crosshair saving Mayday, a “reg” he would’ve left to die back in the day, followed by him saying exactly that. Lines that first resonated with the batch leaving him; but now showing his character development; he won’t leave him behind like he was once. Right after that you have Hemlock trying to convince him to help the empire hunt down Omega - convince him that she is meaningless for him. But as he lays there, restrained, he remembers everything she has said to him, how she saved him when the empire did not. He remembers that Omega means more to him than any of the of the orders they give him. So he remains silent: enduring the torture for as long as he can. But in that moment he doesn’t just think about Omega, the dialogue with Cody echoes through his mind. Cody, a soldier for who he holds high respect, telling him that they aren’t droids; that they have their own will. And now he has that choice; stay loyal to the empire and their cruelty, or avenge one of the only men that respected Crosshair as one of his own and keep Omega safe - the choice to make his own decision. “…and we have to live with them too.” as he takes one last look at Mayday, at the brother he couldn’t save - and you show the moment in which he decides to stay on the platform rather than to join his brothers again. A moment which he by now regrets, and which he surely thought about when Cody said that. This all can seem obvious to most, but I still feel like I have to take a moment and appreciate a good character edit. All in all this a beautifully composed tribute, maybe one of your best - but maybe that’s just the crosshair love in me talking. Keep it up brother
If he does end up back with the Bad Batch, I'd consider that one of the greatest character arcs ever. After watching this edit, it made me realize the conscious decisions Crosshair made to join the empire, and yet the most loyal, the most determined and the most skilled soldier the empire probably had at the time, still rebels.
One of the best Crosshair videos ive seen. You've really captured his development. I'm glad he finally saw sense in the end. Plus, I loved the moments where it showed at first him not caring about the "regs", but since meeting Mayday, it changed his views and shows that what Hunter said was right about phasing out clones and the Empire just seeing clones as numbers. Good job!
He seemed to mature lot definitely. Talking to people like Cody help him see his ways. Someone who got why doing what he was doing. I think easy for anyone to become trapped on own mindset, to go down path of unknowing confirmation bias.
Wow this was really something, it all flowed so nicely, enjoyed every single moment! I really wish that Crosshair got some more screen time in season two, but you managed to capture everything perfectly here. Great work!
Thanks man! And I agree, originally I'd planned to make a more S2-focused video but he got so little to do that I had to make one for his character overall.
*“I would’ve left him for dead* too,he’s just another reg.” “We’re *superior.”* “It is his *nature you cannot change* that, neither can he.” “The young clone *means nothing to you.”* > *“You could’ve saved him.”* “Lieutenant.” “No.” “You better hide, *they’re after Omage.”* I love the character growth we got to see unravel in Crosshair. He went from heartless soldier to a good man with open eyes. He now understands how the Empire is truly evil and how his people matters and their importance in their lives.
With everything that has happened between him and the rest of the batch, he never told the empire anything and even if he know something he mostly likely still wouldn’t have 💪🏽

The Empire is a machine that continously obtains resources, information and people, wears them out and when they feel the item in question has outlived it's usefulness, it is discarded or worse... repurposed. Even though Crosshair was an effective cog in the machine and still fully functional, he did not serve the visual preference that the Empire desired. The Empire saw him as nothing more than livestock, a resource to be slaughtered, consumed and forgotten. He may be as fierce as a raptor, but the Empire desired a different bird. And so, they put him in a pen, took away his wings and claws so the fearsome raptor would sing like a swan about to die. Only when his flock came to him would he be allowed to expire.

I can't help but shake this feeling that Crosshair will be the one who will save Omega. Crosshair is finally starting to see the Empire for what it truly is. It doesn't care about the clones and it's glaringly obvious that they will not be part of it. It doesn't matter how many orders Crosshair follows, he will never be anything more than expendable to them. The Bad Batch is still his family. Even if he hasn't spent that much time with her, I think he thinks of Omega as part of that, too. He has no reason to save her on Kamino, yet he does. He has no reason to try to warn the Bad Batch of Hemlock's plans to find her, yet he does. The Bad Batch doesn't leave its own behind. They were going to save Crosshair and the other clones before Omega got captured. And now, with the loss of Tech, they're even more motivated to not lose another member.
