Great video as always and it's definitely a cool truck, but $80,000 for a Dodge pickup truck can't get over that and none of the people I know can afford that.
"Joined the massive screen club" I'm pretty sure they were the first ones to start it in the trucks. It's crazy to see this truck cost $80,000 when just 5 years ago 2019 I bought a ram rebel $45,000. The only difference is I can see between this truck and my RAM rebel is this one does not have a V8 and the lights are narrower.
Same thing with the RAM 2500 Power Wagon. My fully loaded 17' was < $55k. Same thing is now over $80k on RAM website configuration. I love the truck, but the value for dollar has taken a big hit. If I am going to pay that type of money I'd just go TRX.
Along with all the others. Ford dealerships in my area have had to lease lots with all the 2024 models collecting snow. The Sierra AT4/AT4X and Ford Tremor all cost the same amount as their competition- and all cost more than a mid trim option Rebel. They are all doing it...The model he's testing is not a standard Rebel either, it's loaded to the nuts with every option you can get - the competition doesn't give those for free either.
The reason I got a RAM was it was the only one you can turn on the rear locker whenever you want. Other brands won't let you do it in 2wd or 4WD high or Awd. Rear locker is essential gear and "quit dicking around" fast solution with a button press. The other brands disable it unless you are in 4wd low and if I'm in 4wd low, things have already gotten ugly. I wouldn't need 4wd low if you'd let me turn the locker on in 2wd 30 seconds ago. AWD and turning the locker on and off as needed is pretty amazing how it gets through nearly everything.
First of all, that Billy solo at the beginning was on point! Second, people need to quit making excuses and downplaying the outrageous prices of these trucks and vehicles in general, I mean I get it, there are always going to be the Gotta-Have-Its and people who think it’s a flex to tell others how they can afford this overpriced trash, but have at it, it’s your money, get taken advantage of all you want. The funny thing is most Stellantis products have mountains of money dropped on the hood just to get them out the door because most people aren’t willing to pay these prices. We need more of that. Start patronizing the manufacturers that have decently priced vehicles and ignore the ones who don’t. I realize that will probably never happen and that’s the problem. Believe it or not there are actually decent quality vehicles out there still for reasonable prices. When poverty trim whips are going for 60k that’s a problem. And don’t tell me it’s because of all the new tech, capabilities etc. it can be done. The Ranger Raptor is loaded to the gills and has out of pocket performance and it goes for around 58k. That much truck for that price is acceptable IMO. Anyway, that’s my 2 cents.
I have a similar RAM and it's incredible. They are too wide for narrow trails, but desert, beach, ranch, hunting, mud... and towing stuff to get there is where it shines. i towed a 7,000 lb RV to Sedona with ours, then also took it offroading on a wide trail while there. You just don't want to get into narrow trees or rocks with it.
A 1600$ payment at 5% interest(8.25% tax) for 48 months. Crazy. By the 20/4/10 rule you’d have to have an income of nearly 250k a year for that rule to work.

Seems like this truck has the same issue the cybertruck does w regards to air suspension. To get the lift, it has to increase spring rate, which makes the ride rougher. Not really great for offroading.
I don’t understand why CJDR vehicles use a high glare clear plastic panel in front of the gauges. To me, it’s awful on the eyes and takes away from the interior. I test drove a Challenger and the glare was so annoying I passed on the car.
I'm confused why the RHO would not compete with this? Are they not essentially the same other than the larger TRX body style? The TRX was marketed as a off road/sports truck too. Obviously it doesn't have the same performance as the TRX, but to include Launch mode it's still trying to be a sports truck. Now the RHO has the same engine and basically the same price. I guess I'd choose the RHO because the TRX look is just so badass.
The RHO has the high output engine which takes HP up into the 500's...also the console shifter and the other more TRX styling, though you can get the GT package on the Rebel and essentially have it look like the RHO. Max out options on the Rebel you're still close to 80k...max on the RHO gets you over 90k.

Nice truck but 20K overpriced. I looked at the same Truck but Silverado was way cheaper and still came with the big screen. It competes with the LT trail boss and Tremor.
Can we just admit that the reason prices have gone up on these trucks has allot to do with tariffs recently put on the parts it takes to build these trucks? Or does everyone just want to parrot what certain news channel is saying? Also if you hate the prices maybe stop buying the trucks? If you remember ford, Chevy, ram stopped manufacturing small vehicles and manufactured trucks and SUVs for a reason!
$80k would need way better fit and finish and value not more lipstick on the pig. The entire industry is just out of control - the correction will be massive
Another truck to consider in this segment....Ford F-150 TREMOR. They are probably very similar in off road capability. Ram probably a bit better for on road driving. But the TREMOR just looks way better! The red interior on the RAM and the decals on the rear side of the REBEL hideous!

No more intro?
Tightening up the beginning.
Thank you for that. I had to skip the first 10-20 seconds of all of the videos. Intro is fine the first few times but at the 100th video it gets really old.

80k and no dipstick? Nah, I’m good. 😂 Stellantis has lost their damned minds.
Why buy this when the RHO is the same price ??
$80,000 for a RAM???
Another truck to consider in this segment....Ford F-150 TREMOR. They are probably very similar in off road capability.
Ram probably a bit better for on road driving.
But the TREMOR just looks way better!
The red interior on the RAM and the decals on the rear side of the REBEL hideous!
Ford tremor would prob be a direct comparison.

$90K for 0.01% of people who can AFFORD it. 🥶
Halogen taillights on an 80k truck. 🤨
I think your ranger raptor did the course a lot better and the jeep gladiator did better.
"let's get back to the truck"
😬Yeah, and don't do that cringy shit ever again...
😂
