  • This Video is all about the least talked about supplement that can drastically improve your performance. The Way I see it - if you're spending hundreds of dollars on running gear and doing hundreds of hours on training - why not spend a little time researching how to get the best out of yourself - starting with B12. Get around it.
    Check out my INSANE cross training whilst rebuilding towards hopefully not another injury!

    This from now, and first 10 seconds is insanely high-quality. B12 is critical for maximising, blood volume and feeling great while exercising and in every day life this video is awesome, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪

    I’ve been plant based for 5 years now and get it checked every year. All have been in the normal range.

      Awesome! When I first changed over to plant based in 2021 I got checked and I was already low interestingly. Now Have been fine with injections since.

      @@PeakStride And I need to, as a 76yo masters athlete it's too low for performance, just below mid-range, so for the whole of June I have a hyperbaric chamber (1.5 ATM and 95% O2) that I am using twice a day.

    Interesting breakdown of B12's biochem. As an aside, B6 also plays a critical role in hemoglobin production. As well as reducing homocysteine, converting ALA to DHA/EPA, and producing glycine+serine, critical for collagen and phospholipid synthesis. I suspect that the synthetic form of it that's added to American junk food is blocking the body's utilization of the active form. Another L for the US athletes eating pop tarts before races.

    • @PeakStride
      @PeakStride  3 месяца назад +2

      Yeah absolutely! will eventually work my way through all of these in future videos.
      Synthetics vitamins I also suspect alter absorption rates of natural - I've never found anything to support that yet through, but im convinced.

    6:28 hemoglobin is a minimal rate limiter of aerobic and anaerobic capacity

    • @PeakStride
      @PeakStride  3 месяца назад

      So you don’t need oxygen for aerobic exercise then?

    • @welanduzfullo8496
      @welanduzfullo8496 3 месяца назад

      @@PeakStride RATE LIMITER is very different from "don't need", increasing red blood cells and hemoglobin beyond a healthy baseline doesnt increase performance once you have enough because oxygen availability is not the rate limiter of performance but rather oxygen consumption (the oxygen available in your blood for an average male individual can support sustained outputs of far beyond 8w/kg, but you could never consume that oxygen because 10x other things stop you from getting there in the first place), EPO and co. "PEDs" dont increase top line performance but rather average performance, bc threshold performances on the bike are very VERY red blood cell apoptotic ie. riding the tour without EPO and placing top 20 will probably make you pre-anemic, but a couple ten thousand of IUs of EPO will maintain your baseline
