This isn’t the greatest Les Paul in the world. It’s only a Tribute.
Fantastic reference, gave me a good chuckle
Brilliant! Haha made me laugh
😂😂😂
You've gotta believe it and I wish you were there just a matter of oppinion
I almost got a little mad but then I got the joke. Good one lol
Looks like a fantastic year for Gibson. They've got something for everyone this year. Don't understand all the hate for the feature packed LPs. Get a traditional if you don't like the standard or the HP.
Kinda disappointed they don't have any models with P-90s tbh
I know, right? I have a Gibson 335 which I LOVE but I paid alot for. I will always keep it because I love the way it plays and sounds and because I could never afford to replace it with another with what a they charge today.
That being said, its tough when you see a Epiphone 335 Pro for $400 that has coil tap/split capability and your VERY expensive Gibson does not. Im not really sure why anyone would complain about a new Les Paul having TOO many options. Have any of these people seen of played a Les Paul Recording version from the 70s-80s?(Which was Les' favorite btw) That thing has more switches than the space shuttle.
But the Traditional has no Slim Taper neck, doesn't it?
X Get a Traditional
O Get an old model Standard
gh go Custom Shop and buy the ‘56 or the ‘54 reissue, they’ve been making it for years
Yep. I bought a Les Paul Traditional (2016) because I didn't need bells and whistles. I just wanted that Les Paul sound. I got exactly what I wanted because Gibson has always had this on offer. Oh, and I love it have no regrets that mine doesn't say "standard." And as an aside, I love the 2018 Classic with P90s and if no one else wants to buy them then I'll take the discount and laugh and laugh and laugh...
The 2016 Traditional is one of the very best, all of the goodness and none of the gimmicks! Really surprised that the 2018 Classic didn't get more love, it's a great guitar and the P90s are killer. I bought the last gold top Classic from Andertons at a heavily discounted price and am laughing too...
Jeremy Koch I absolutely adore my 16 Traditional. Better than I expected
It’s amazing how much fury a truss rod cover can cause. That being said, the upcoming Standards are more like what I thought they should be
i agree with you , i thought the LP goldtop with the p90s was a great model (didn't get one as i already have a p90 guitar- but still)
Are there any difference with the 2019 Traditional VS the 2016? I'm planning to purchase my 1st Gibson soon!
The first solo Rob played in the beginning...made me just go and pick up my les Paul and play. Really simple, but very moving. Thank you sir! And hail the power of music!
Les Paul, all the way! 👍🏻
That Red traditional is hawt 🔥
Its not on the official page... I was excited for the sunburst one
I waited and got a 2018 Classic for £1299. I hope these drop to around £1500. I’d have one then.
How is the 2018 Classic? I was very tempted by the Ebony one at one stage
@@ryanjacko1 . it's great. The first one I got (had to buy mail order) was bad on the neck binding so went back. The second had some fretboard issues that got sorted. But both were ok elsewhere. I've got the black one. I've bought white P90 covers and a Bigsby B7 with a Vibramate for it. So it'll be bang on then. Bargain at the price though.
Ah that sounds lovely mate. Shame about the QC like, but like you say great price.
You've got two amazing Marshalls behind you, when you demoing Les Pauls, please use them! 😁
Ocsi Pepe Les Paul and Marshalls are the perfect combination.
And highlight the settings and pedals too👍🏼
Dang, that Traditional sounds SICK. And it's got the visual appeal...
Oh god, I am just in love with the gold top Classic 😍
Want one!
Not a fan of the dot inlay on a Les Paul. So I am now extra pleased that I purchased my 2017 LP Tribute Honey Burst when I did. What a deal that was in the $750 USD range.
That opening jam made me feel things. For a moment there Rob's playing carried me and we transcended both space and time. Rob into an orange is always good times.
Well done Chappers and the Captain for calling out those "traditionalists".
to be fair overreacting traditionalists needed to be called out because it was just, baseless outrage. I personally don't like the idea of switches because its not very intuitive, especially considering hands are mostly busy when playing a guitar
The Traditional ProII is king
David Morisset U right
Wow, Conan got butthurt... What a dirty traditionalist.
TradCon for life.
. . . wait, is this guitar talk?
Rob is spanking that red traditional like nobody’s business. I love them all.
Played the "tuna fade" one that Chappers played, and it indeed played effortlessly. In fact, only one guitar played better from my day in andertons two weeks ago, and it's the one I bought, the blueberry fade HP, which is why they didn't show a physical one in the video 🐜
David Winter nice you shoulda bought used tho
Got one too. Is the neck pickup a much higher output like the captain says? Mine is no matter how much I lower or raise to compensate.
I would've, KW, but I couldn't find one. My ideal one would've been the Blueberry burst HP from two years ago... but couldn't find one anywhere and I've been looking for two years.
David Winter I believe the Standards come in a Blueberry Burst this year as well. I’m really digging the Fade, though.
Depends on the amp you're using, I suppose. I got the best balance out of a modelling amp, ironically. It's not so different that you can't compensate... but I love the tone. Absolutely love it.
Real shame the Tribute has reverted to dot inlays. I’m Looking for a 2018 model which has the trapezoids but they’re incredibly hard to get of - especially the 2018 tribute gold top.
Also reverted back to a 490T the 2018 has a 498T :-\
probably because there is no Faded for this years, so they lil bit changed the range?
I have a 2017 Tribute for sale (Honeyburst) with reveal binding for sale. Let me know if you are interested!
Gazzy Burns thanks Gazzy but I think I’m going to bite the bullet and buy the Classic.
The inlays, however, aren't that hard to get
Pretty good Rhett Schull impression there Captain😎
I will confirm the neck pickup of the HP being much louder than the bridge. I have the neck lowered below the rings, bridge as high as I can and it still has a much higher output.
I still do not get the hate for Gibson from both keyboard warriors and RUclipsrs in need of click bait. I have never been disappointed with any of my Gibson guitars, they sound amazing, and are iconic. There are enough models in any of the ranges in the last few years to find something to fit, personally I like e-tune that became G-force I have it on a 2014 LP standard and a 2015 LP junior.
Whoa whoa whoa, that kind of positivity on a gibson video just won't do. Don't ya know everyone hates them now? 😂
they are expensive af if you didnt notice. No good vfm
@@jameswilliamson7384 go check out a video from 60 Cycle Hum's video discussing the Les Paul Standard's pricing from 58 to the 2019 range. The Standard has ALWAYS been on the expensive side, usually residing in that upper 5% of expensive guitars. So they have always been "expensive af."
@carlos lamus: So if it is on the expensive side, then people have high expectations for it. It's common sense
Gibson is my favorite company of all companies. Proud owner of a 2016 LP Studio and a 2018 J-45.
Loving the in-store-footage again, cheers!
lol les paul fanatics raging about a couple of push pull pots, lmao
not even that, they're crying because the guitar they see is a Les Paul is called a Traditional and not a Standard. It's ridiculous really
Weird how those same fanatics aren't moaning about humbuckers in general.
@@scriptosaurusrex why would they be moaning about humbuckers?
@@dumbdickler670 because the original les paul from 1952 had p90s in it. At some point in time, whenever it was that gibson introduced the humbucker, it was a newfangled untraditional thing. I am pointing out the hypocrisy of people moaning when Gibbo try and put innovation out there, when they (and specifically the Les Paul models) contributed so much to changing the guitar landscape towards what we know today.
@@scriptosaurusrex well, the '59 is often considered the pinnacle of Gibson so it's no wonder that people associate that guitar with the LP name. I'd say it's a different scenario than when Gibson switched to PAFs in '57 (if I remember correctly)
I love the Tributes. Thin finishes, great tone, great feel, great prices. No plastic binding to turn a funky color and crack years from now. Just a few pieces of wood, some nickel/steel strings, and some pickups. Bliss!
Is it just me or does the Captain have a BADASS tone today?!?!.....rock on boys!!!!!
Chappers needs more LP in his life. Brings shine to his hand talent
whats great is the youtube subtitles for this video
"greetings, i'm rob Jabbers" 😂
That Seafoam finish is a very nice example! Probably better than their press photos.
They are all fantastic. They each seem to have their own sound. That tribute sounds very vintage, the studio sounds great for some shreddy metaly stuff, the classis sounds pure rock. And then the higher range standards and traditional all sound amazing. Also please do the semi hollows this year.
Don't understand why Gibson is still trying to make a more affordable range of guitars. They should just leave that to Epiphone. If their sales have gone down why not make their standard ranges more affordable?
Or just call their Epiphone LPs Gibsons and be done with it.
@@DerrickRG worked for Fender
5:18 “if you don’t feel crippled after 2 hours of playing it it’s not a proper les paul”
So glad it’s not just me 🤣
Damn that 1st red one Chappers is playing is a sustain monster
Here's my free marketing advice to Gibson. Limit your range to the next four levels: Legacy (the models like we knew them, adding a year of reference, like 58, or 61), Contemporary (with modern features), Fancy (with fancy extras, partly optional), and then a budget range called Entry. The Standard will be in the Legacy series.
Nah, Let's have the Les Paul 58, Les Paul 59 and the SG 61 in the Legacy instead of the Standard
Played guitar for about 2 years and quit(mostly) but watching these guys jam and review the guitars i love i found my passion again
i can see people buying the 2019 les paul traditional and putting a standard truss rodd cover on it
I missed out on the Classic in 2014, but I swear to god I am not missing this 2019 version. It's basically a Standard, but with super useful switching for the gigging guitarist, and at less cost. You just can't go wrong there. Just gotta wait for this time next year when they aren't $1000 more than they should be.
Seems like Gibson Classic new prices just keep going up
Is Lee talking about the Rhett Shull rant?
Luis Zuñiga probably
I think so.
No other RUclipsrs on this platform make me want to pick up my guitar more than this channel... and more specifically, you two. Thanks for the great content.
So... No Custom in 2019? Too bad, I really dig the looks of a bound headstock and block inlays.
I believe this video displays the Gibson USA range, the usual consumer models. There is another subdivision of Gibson that is Gibson Custom Shop, they make the LP Custom among other faaaaantastic guitars
Damn, that lead playing from 7:57 to 9:00 is the best thing I've ever heard from Chappers. Truly beautiful.
The studio tribute with dot inlays gets a 0 out of 10 from me. Looks like the old Epiphone LP100 model.
If you want one, get your Tribute NOW! The 2018 version is the best guitar i've ever bought.
Fresh4220 really hard to get hold of though?
You just spoke my mind out, Dead Hands
The 2018 is precious tho.
No surprises that the gold top is still my pick no matter what pickups are in it
Well done guys! Thankyou for being sensible and calling out idiots like Rhett Shull for whining about a truss rod cover. The Les Paul Traditional exists for a reason.
Step 1: Buy a LP Traditional
Step 2: Change the truss rod cover to "Standard" or just "Les Paul"
Step 3: Install Grover tuners
You got the best guitar in the world
You mean “except when I drop it because I’m a careless retard and I don’t know how to set my guitar up properly to keep tune”.
So true 👍
@@jimherleva4541 No hes right about the G string, its not a setup issue. As far as the headstock it's like jesus people just stop dropping/knocking over your guitars.
Got my Les Paul Standard in 2017. Great bloody guitar, and by the sounds/looks of it that hasn't changed in 2019. Good job Gibson!
Do a blindfold smell challange where rob has to spot the gibson by smelling. please.
Put a pie in there as a curveball.
rob should not be allowed to touch the guitars
And rub some play doh over an epiphone to throw him off
I own several LPs and SGs.... Nothing else smells like a legit Gibson USA, nitrocellulose-finished hardbody. Especially after sitting in its case for a while - cracking open the lid is a treat.
I played that blue one on Sunday!! Stunning guitar
Steve Reynolds I played it too. Played great!
Chappers playing in this was reassuringly good .
I've just got the Gibson Les Paul 2018 Signature Player Plus and absolutely love it! Satin neck is just to die for! I'd happily look after all of those for you though!
I don't really care about the changes to the standard I just wish there were cheaper options
Its called epiphone
OR Gibson could realize the reason they went bankrupt is nobody wants to spend 3 grand on a guitar, even a Les Paul.
I agree!!! For those who want to roll out the standard “that’s why there is epiphone ” response, save it. No one wants a bloody fucking epiphone, that headstock can piss right off. Fender cranks out tons of affordable awesome guitars, what the hell is gibsons problem
@Troy Jeffrey The thing is the guitar division is profitable. Just all the weird tech company aquisitions put them into massive debt. So that's not the reason at all. Though I also wish Gibson guitars were more affordable
Fender does cheaper guitars that are made in Mexico. Fender guitars are also cheaper to build. The Les Pauls are still overpriced, but not as much as everyone thinks they are.
Nothing beats the smell of a new Les Paul .Back in the days before the net i tried every polish to get that spell and did not realize it was the nitrocellulose till later years kept asking the guitar shops of what polish they used thing they were using some special polish .
Can't see how the traditional has gone up £600.
Cos the value of the pound has fallen though the floor?
I love Gibsons and I love les pauls. Here is what i think they should do:
*The Studio should be like it sounds, strip all fancy things that has to do with looks and make it a versatile beast with coiltap and all those things
*Remove the classic (Traditional, classic, THESE ARE SYNONYMS?!?)
*The Traditional is the common mans late 50's les paul, AA top, bindings, 57 classics, no coiltap or nothing.
*The Standard should be the guitar that uses every innovation that has been succesful up until the year of which its released, ergo the 2019 STANDARD of a guitar and nothing we haven't seen before.
*The MODERN, instead of the classic introduce the MODERN which is where they test new stuff out such as bursts pickups new neckjoints and stuff make these fewer in count but more interesting.
Great video!!
How do you play the rhythm that they jam to that starts at 15:58 anyone?
Great video and GREAT JOB calling out all the unnecessary hate. Love that trustrod cap idea. Makes way more sense than all the hate going on. The only real thing to complain about is the price. Other than that, these are great guitars.
For those putting up videos on why they don't like Gibson, or how they don't like Gibson right now, if you really want to help fix the problem, get more artists (or become one yourself) to show up on TV, in music videos, on tour, at festivals, and at award shows to play a Gibson of any kind. Doesn't have to be a Les Paul. Could be an SG, 335, Junior whatever. (example, look at Gary Clark Jr.) Get the guitars seen more. Put out some top 40 pop that features a Gibson. Then more people will want one. The hate doesn't solve anything.
Crazy idea: Gibson make their 'Professional' and 'Elite' guitar range in the USA and their 'Player' range in another country by equally skilled builders for less than half the price. (As long as it says Gibson on the identically shaped headstock as the USA guitars of course).
Works for some other companies....
That would be admitting the other company is right.
why? They sell tons and tons of guitars. that has never been their problem.
Sean Brooks My idea was to help the buyer not the seller!
They protect their brand by not making anything with Gibson on the headstock out of the country. It helps their products fetch a premium price.
That was original point; Fender sells loads of premium guitars but still put Fender on the headstock of it's Mexican range
Great outro jam! Some slightly funky colours, but overall they look great. Good luck to Gibson for 2019, let's hope they get the company back to stability.
I've never played an american Les Paul that didn't absolutely rip. Everyone talks until they get their heads cut off by a Lester into a Marshall
Truth!! I got a les paul studio from the 2016 range and apart from one small mark on the body, the whole thing is perfect! The sound and playability of the thing is immense!
preetsidoodle yep got a 2016 studio myself into a handwired Marshall 1974 and it is the sound
Exactly, I even have a cheaper lpj 2013 model that just rips up 2 k guitars all day long..
Felix Blacksher ll
Marshall DSL Vintage 40C with upgraded valves for me... and yes it does :) - have to use the half power 20W switch TBH.
The High Performance one with that blue white turquoise lagoon burst is stunning, I love it !
They should have called the LP Standard like LP Modern or A la Mode or Retrofuturistic or something new that the traditionalist wouldn't touch with a pole.
Maybe the Les Paul Standard Modern and the Les Paul Standard Traditional, like what Chapman does
I think it should be called the Les Paul Traditionally Fully Optioned Moderne Standard.
Maybe traditionalists should recognize that there is a model *specifically* built for them. This is the biggest bullshit drama ever.
Joris Griffioen Agree.
Weird to say, but the Standard HP Sea Foam actually looked like you guys were playing it faster. I noticed it with Lee first so I was glad Chappers played it later in the video (also looked faster, before Lee said something about it).
I like Gibson and I am not a hater so I am edited for this range. People should stop getting pissy about the name of the standard when people should just get the traditional
I think "Standard" to Gibson means "The Standard by which all others are judged" so it should have all the bells and whistles.
And the Traditional should have a traditional pick guard. ;)
*EDIT* As Bar pointed out to me in a reply to another post, the Traditional comes with a pick guard the you can install, so all is well with the Traditional. :)

@@davidpreininger6350 I never take stuff like this seriously. I actually like Gibson and the electronics package on the Standard to me is actually bad ass. Mind you I'm 50 so I'm one of those guys that recalls basic Les Pauls. That said I value innovation over tradition. I own a 76 Les Paul Artisan 3 PU version and it is a great guitar. But if I had the money I would LOVE the new Standard.

Great to hear these guys as the voice of reason in regards to the criticism of the 2019 standard. All the extra stuff is totally optional and unobtrusive. They seem like great options!
The red les paul 😍

Less plastic + more wood = better tone. Just my opinion. ;)

Finally, people with a bit of hindsight on these new models. Thank you, Anderton's.
Rhett Schull(sp) was the ranter. Sometimes his videos are enticing, but other times he stretches for material.
He did seem genuinely worked-up.
That Les Paul HP sounded rather hollow and nothing like an old school one, but then again an HSH Strat sounds nothing like an old SSS strat either. Not better or worse necessarily, just different. For me though, that red Les Paul Traditional through the Orange was just awesome.
Lol, Gibson even made Classics with ABR-1 bridge. How more classic can you go? What else to complain? The only thing I could think of myself is colour choice on Flying Vs and Explorers. Natural is just not my thing, but whatever, I'm sure they'll switch colours for next yera.
Yes! That first one rob was drawn to is so sharp. That blue to white burst, just wow.
Wait...wait...wait. Better line..."If they make a guitar in the shape of an ass , Im all in" . Hahahahahahahah. Im dying
Rob's face at 15:25...I made the same face at the same moment as I listened. Killer tone.
How funking dare gibson ever have changed things about a les paul?
What are all these new fangled things that have no place on a real guitar?! What are those weird pickups, did you say they were call 'thumbpluckers' or 'chumbuckets' or 'humbuckers' or something weird like that?
it's not a real les paul unless its a 1952 p90 design.

3:17 - 3:40 they're talking about Rhett Shull.
Saarang Narayan yea sounds like him. He usually is complaining. Entitled and arrogant. Just my opinion.

I hope these guys start calling everyone out for their bullshit. I bet Rhett never goes up to Rick beato to tell him how much his collection of Gibson guitars suck
I enjoy Rhett’s videos, but that LP rant was just silly he made
Yeah, I thought that maybe it was meant to be a parody of Gibson haters. It looked to me like a crappy actor pretending to be devastated. I'd hate to come across as arrogant as some of the people commenting on that video. Nothing against Gibson, we are just in a phase we’re people don’t want Gibson’s, you can get the same tone in a lighter body, better playability, less expensive, your essentially buying Gibson for the name at this point just like fender
It's not just the name, it's the iconic heritage behind the brand imho
@@GraphiteandCigars Dude... That's the definition of "buying the name". LOL
@@MetalBeastShred For someone buying their first Gibson I would agree. For die hard Gibson players it is not the name. It is the heritage, tone and their own history of playing them. Not many young people dropping 3k - 6k on a Gibson just to say they have one. I don't own one and would pass on buying today due to quality issues. I know players that won't play anything else.
@@GraphiteandCigars OK... I think we may be splitting hairs on semantics.
If you're saying it's an established player's personal history with the brand and instrument, I would agree that the history matters. I also do not own a Gibson, even though I can afford them, for the same reasons you mentioned. Even when I was 16 and shopping guitars I though they were grossly overpriced and undequipped for what they are, which is basically a heavy, set neck mahogany guitar with 2 humbuckers. There were, are, and continue to be, better options to get those features on a high quality instrument for a much smaller expenditure.
The Les Paul HP Sea Foam guitar in this video that they seem so enamoured of is listed at £3099 on the Andertons site... and it has a Richlite fingerboard. Not rosewood, not ebony, not even Pao Ferro, Mexican Kingwood, or even Maple. Richlite: Paper mulch byproduct mixed with resin. It is simply offensive to ask that mind of premium price for a guitar when it's made with sub par components, but the (now previous) CEO thoght that people were slaves to the brand (and some are) and so they continued to ship with that marketing. I don't blame Andertons, by the way. They charge what people are willing to pay, like any business.
THAT is how Gibson got into trouble: Poor QC, Ivory Tower management, and over pricing. Bad subsidiary acquisitions they brought under the corporate umbrella only exacerbated the problem.
Just my $0.02. 😉
I'd argue that Fender do an absolutely great job of providing for all types of player and all budgets... For the money the Mex standards were totally viable contenders for the duration of their run, independent of the 'name'.
The jam they do while rob plays the classic!! That is such a great progression they jam on and have been doing it for years!!!💙
So the best Gibson Les Paul ......is still the Les Paul Tribute Plus - by Epiphone! They've just upgraded the Les Paul Standard to match its MUCH cheaper cousin, with push/pull pots (don't get the hate for these), while increasing the price again. They should have concentrated on fixing the bloody headstock, at least to the 14° Epiphone angle.
I really wish they'd test these clean to more clearly discern the differences in tone between each model.
Agreed, instead of using the same generic string bend to descending pentatonic move with screaming gain.
That epiphone is stellar, but its not as close to a gibson as you would expect
I've played a Gibson 2018 Standard beside the 2018 Epiphone Tribute Plus and it's REALLY difficult to see where the money is in the Gibson, apart from name, second hand value and headstock shape. The '57 pick-ups in the Epiphone sound even better than the Standard and it's sustains a hell of a lot better too. I think the reason the push/pull pots are in the Standard now is because of the Tribute Plus. The Gibson had it's share of fit and finish issues too!
The point of this video was not to test clean and clearly discern the difference in tones between each model. Lee said multiple times that if that's what you want to see, Danish Pete made exactly that video. It doesn't appear to be up on their channel yet, but I bet if you wait at most a couple days you will find exactly the video you wanted them to make.
@@ApotheosisCM I mean, ok. The Danish Pete video will be great, but I come to the videos for Lee and Rob's dynamic.
That guitar at 1:40 is gorgeous. When I think of a Les Paul Standard, I think of the standard LP for the year. And I like that they try to keep it up to date, with interesting possibilities, etc. If I want an old style LP, I think Traditional is the way to go. It can't be more simple than that.
studio 2019 has 490 / 498, studio 2018 has '57 / '57+ ...just sayin'
for me 57 pups sound too boomy for LP ... too much low end. They are much better in SGs.
Fair point, but if you now crave for 57s or P90s you need to spend more $$$. If you like 57s though, used 2018 studios are there waiting for you.
yes, there will always be guitar/pickup combination which you crave for and it is not available right of the bat ... Id like to LP with EMG 57/66 set, but it just dont exist for now :D
Did you notice, that there is 2019 Studio elite with 57 pups and bigsby?
JoKerTheFirst nope the Gibson page says that the studio still has the 400s
I have a 2018 Hp, absolutely love it! Looking at the 2019, I'm happy I picked up the 18 while I had the chance
They screwed up the Tribute T 😔
R D totally agree.
R D look towards the Studio with a He Trapezoid Inlays.
That Red Traditional looks KILLAAAAH!
For all the grunkles who complain about the Standard being so versatile, don't act like the Traditional doesn't exist. That's the benifit of having two models, one for the classicists who want it to feel almost exactly like a 59' model, and one for more modern players who want a guitar that can do everything in the form of a Gibson Les Paul, and some of you don't get it. Shame
Noone likes to be declassified from "Standard" to "Traditional" I guess...
@@schmoemi3386 try this:
Buy Les Paul Traditional
Swap the truss rod cover
DONE!
Of course one could do that. Seems to be not an option for many guitar players. Or, maybe, they just need to have their Gibson rant regularly to be happy... who knows...!? :-)
@@schmoemi3386 that's right
I cannot believe people are complaining about what it says on truss rod cover. The price complaints get, some of the quality control complaints I get (considering how much you're paying), complaints about marketing I get, but complaining the traditional isn't called the standard is so asinine. I would understand if Gibson didn't make a Les Paul as it was made in '58-'59, but they do. If you want that, just buy it. I don't see any Fender fan boys complaining that the American Standard Stratocaster has new features over the years. I someone wants a '50s or '60s era Strat, they just buy one since Fender makes them (and also offer MIM versions that don't cost an arm and a leg).
If the traditional doesn’t change why is it dearer every year
If food doesn't change why is it dearer every year?
Inflation?
They stayed the same price, it's just the value of money that's going down.
It’s a giant conspiracy, to bilk “Traditionalists” out of increasing sums of money.
Are wages going up mine haven’t for years
that gold top with the zebras sounds so badass!!
"If they make a guitar in the shape of an ass I'm all in" Chappers 2019
For me, this is the best the studio has ever looked (at least in semi recent memory). The studio has been messed with a lot in the past 5 years and hopefully it stays at this level. I love the fade.
I think the most amusing thing about les paul purists is how they've always got a lot to say about Gibson going down hill but at the same respect, their advice alway seems to be the totally unsustainable idea that gibson could/should stay in business putting out the exact same stuff every year (to please the vocal minority). Yet, each year, the same gibsons get put into the ever expanding pool of les's that you can buy second hand for way less. I have a 97 black les paul studio and it looks exactly like black studios from current day. Why the fuck would I want to pay new premium when I can go to the second hand market and buy the same shit for less? You can imagine the shit car companies would get for doing that.
I was skeptical about the new stuff this year since I was expecting Gibson to really go back to basics, but I think I like what’s coming from Gibson. Still confused about the dip switch stuff though
