    I only have a water bath canner. If I did meat, or more canning I would like this. Easy is what I'm talking about. Having time on your side is always a plus!

      I completely agree! I enjoy having the conveyance kitchen tools... I love the idea of old school canning, cooking ect. But I dont have that kind of time... If my life was a little slower, I would enjoy the slower methods more. But my life is busy busy and having this type of canner fits in soo nicely. I dont have excuses any more! 😂

    Amazing how technology through the years has made life so easy in so many ways! Old school canning in a way slows down life and that can be a good thing as we ALL are guilty of running around like chickens on a farm....WHICH coincidently leads me to my next point...I Could Eat Chicken EVERYDAY🤣I get it Brettany, life is much busier these days than it was probably when our Parents were our age! This New Canner is a bonus in letting you leave the house knowing full well that all is fine! Like the golf cart repair, the Good things cost a little bit more but are so worth it too in the long run! This was really interesting and fun! Merry Christmas to The Whole Family and we shall "Ketchup" later! Cheers and Blessings From COW-lumbus MOO 🙏🌲

      Old school canning does make you slow down, which is a good thing. I definitely feel like a chicken on a farm some days!😂 I personally love eating chicken as well, Ronny is more of a beef person. But that's perfectly fine with me! Leaving the house knowing my food was getting canned, un-maned was such a weird experience... I usually hover over my canner waiting, listening, watching 👀... It was definitely worth it🤗

      FYI. I have a Kohls card and they run great promotions all the time. I was able to purchase it for $212 BUT it then gave me $50 Kohls cash & $17 for November purchases. Getting it for less then $150 to me was a bargain.

      @shirlynb148 WOW! That is fantastic! I would love to have a second one!😅 I will have to look into that deal. That is the only thing I dislike about the Electric Canner... you can not fit as many Jars in it as you can my stove top canner 🙄 BUT the convenience is definitely worth the size difference 😉

    22:20 If you had put the seasoning on the bottom, it would have incorporated. There is no liquid on top of your chicken.

    I can can in my Instapot with even less hassle than you have since I don’t can anything that I need more than 10 psi for and it gives me 11.6 psi and since I don’t want the keep warm I can open it the next morning if I want to. I have my Power XL that has a canning setting and it works just fine and now I have instapots as well and th.Ed can wonderfully. They translated the European pressure of 80 xx into USA #’s and it was more than I ever need so that is fine with me. The pressure that give only needs more time for me if I am over 2,000 foot elevation. The only thing that would be a problem for you is that you need to can in quarts but most of the time pints are just fine for me. I reach and stay in the kill zone for more than enough time and I get plenty of vacuum too. I also don’t loose water so having the water up to the grate is great. Have fun

    Great video. I'm new to canning and I bought this one as you said for the ease of use and the ability to not have to hover over it as it's going through the whole process. I never thought you could can raw meats like you demonstrated in the video! Now I know what I will try for my first canning process!!! I do have a question though. I'm not a big fan of chicken breast. I love me some thighs. Especially turkey thighs. If I can thighs is the process the same as you demonstrated with the chicken breasts? Would it be the same for any raw meat you can or would you have to adjust time depending on what food you can?

    • @RonnyandBrettany
      @RonnyandBrettany  Год назад +2

      Ooo you are going to love this canner! It makes canning soo much easier. You can raw pack thighs the same way and process for the same amount of time!🙂

    I raw pack with no water in the jars. I just add the jars with the meat to canner with cool water in it.

    I'm curious, being a new pressure canner; anyone find out what was wrong with their Presto Perfect not coming to temp: was it method - the regulator?
    Great video, @ronnyandbrettany I'm watching a ton before I dive in. Long time water bath regular canner long time water bath canner. My bestie aka canning Si-fu convinced me to go all in during July 2024 Prime Days since this would do both. Love my glass top halogen stove can't keep up, turns on and off too much for water or my regular stove top dinner pressure cookers. 😊

    I love my Presto canner and use it all the time. However, I can’t help but be distracted by the curtain that is sooooooo close to the stove. Please tell me this is a temporary thing just for the video shooting.

    @genablakeney8994 Год назад +1

    In the last batch you made the chicken was below the 1" and a 1/4 headspace that was needed. Does this
    Make a difference? You were careful to measure the 1st batch then at end they looked not full enough. I just purchased this also and trying to figure it out. Thank you so much for posting video i learned so much from it

    • @RonnyandBrettany
      @RonnyandBrettany  Год назад

      I was shy on chicken, so I just made them all as even as I could. They all sealed perfectly fine. It's best to get at the recommended headspace. But this did not compromise the contents.
      Some things like Applesauce, that are thick, I leave a little extra headspace also to prevent syphoning.
      I also have a video when I can Chicken Fajitas! They turn out fabulous for quick meals!
      I hope that answered your question!
      Enjoy the canner and canning!💕

      @@RonnyandBrettany thank you I'm a little nervous about this machine. Lol. I'm old school on most things. I sure am going to watch chicken fajita video today. Glad to know there's a little wiggle room on headspace I always overthink but I'm so excited to try this. Again thank you.💖

    I just got this canner but my canner never comes up to pressure. The lock never pops up and engages. What am I doing wrong. I feel like I am following the directions carefully. Any suggestions?

    • @RonnyandBrettany
      @RonnyandBrettany  8 месяцев назад

      Hmm I am not sure about that. Is the seal properly in place? Do you add the regulator when it tells you to? Make sure it sits facing the front of the machine, (CAN) not the sides (vent). If it still doesn't come up to pressure maybe your canner is defective? I hope that helps you! 🙏

      @jackielong9966 I'm curious, being a new pressure canner and incredible Prime Days in July 2024; did you find out what was wrong with your Presto Perfect or was it your method - the regulator?
      I'm a long time water bath regular canner doing a lot of videos like this to learn before diving in, my halogen glass top stove is too much on and off for water or pressure 😊

    Did your lemon pepper chicken siphon? Is it ok for it to not be full? Im a newbie here

    • @RonnyandBrettany
      @RonnyandBrettany  Год назад

      Hey! So if you cook your chicken first and hot pack, you would add broth of some sort to a 1in headspace. BUT if you raw pack, like I did in this video (honestly I've only raw packed chicken) you fill the jar with raw chicken to 1in headspace, as the chicken processes, it'll make its own broth/juices. No, my jars did not siphon, they only made that much liquid, which is perfectly fine!❤️ I just made another canning video where I canned chicken, bell peppers and onions in a fajita seasoning for Easy Fajitas and they are amazing!🤗 Hope that answered your question! Feel free to ask anything else! And welcome to our channel!🥰

    Do you know if you can stack pints?

    • @RonnyandBrettany
      @RonnyandBrettany  Год назад

      Hello! Unfortunately no 😪 You are not supposed to stack anything on canned/sealed jars! Stacking jars or anything on them can cause false seals.

    • @d.sylvester5492
      @d.sylvester5492 9 месяцев назад +2

      I have this same digital pressure canner. The manual says you can stack half pints, not pints, for pressure canning. Hope that helps.
