Hi there, Thanks so much! I've been using this method for a while now, especially for small batches!! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video! Blessings! ☺
I thought this was the greatest canner ever made until things started going down hill. I bought 2, one gave me an E50 message. Pesto replaced it, Long story short I sent two back, because of the E50 message and I bought two 23 quart Presto canners. I really enjoy the one electric canner I have left, it's a good size if you don't have a lot of canning to do. My other Presto canners allow me to do 32 pints, 16 in each, at a time, LOVE IT.
Hi there, LOL Just keeping it real! 🙃 Some silly ones out there on my other videos too! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video! God bless!
Very helpful video! I just bought one of these pressure canners last week. My first project will be raw pack chicken and then would like to do the ground beef. This will be my first time canning anything and I’m excited to have cooked meat on the shelf, ready to use.
Hi Molly, Yes! I just love this appliance! I also just did a boiling water bath canning video on this unit to show how that setting works as well. Glad you found the video helpful. Having the cooked meat on the shelves is a quick and easy way for grab-n-go meals. It also gives us a sense of food security too if the power goes out or something of the sort. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my little channel. I do so appreciate it! Enjoy the new found canning journey! God bless!
This is my go to video as I'm just learning. I've done a few batches so far so good. I've had one can that didn't seal so far, don't know why, so I'll just use that jar.
Ah yes glad I can help! Seals are kind of funny sometimes! Keep on canning!! It becomes second nature!! Great job!! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video! God bless! 💕
If the jars need so long to cool in the unit AND you have to prep the jars with the unit it would take several hours for just a few jars. Can the jars be prepped and kept hot in the oven prior to packing?
Hi there, I believe they can be kept hot in the oven like normal pressure canning. The water in the digital unit still needs to get up to temp for the pressure canning so it’s kind of redundant? I do definitely only use this unit if I make smaller batches or if it’s extremely hot outside and don’t want to heat up the house. Hope this helps answer your question. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video. Blessings! ☺️
Hi Christine, I've watched a couple of videos of people pressure canning in the past from the US but have never heard of it here in the UK. Just looked on ebay uk and there are no pressure canners for sale from here. There are many to buy but they're all located in the US along with the corresponding shipping price tag! Can you tell me the purpose of it as opposed to freezing food as we'd do over here. Maybe generally our kitchens and storage space are smaller than yours so it's not practical to do it I don't know. I like the idea though and the process is satisfying. Over here we'd make jam, pickles or chutneys in jars (cans) but that's about it for those so inclined. Keep going with the videos, I really enjoy them and look forward to your salad dressing recipe. All the best!
Hi Phil, Oh that’s so interesting that they really only water bath can in the UK?! My reasoning for pressure canning and preserving the food is mainly to help with inflation along with convenience of having something ready to eat that only needs to be reheated on my shelves. There is quite a few books explaining all of the different details on the “how and why” you should do this. My favorite book is the “Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving” by Judi Kingry and Lauren Devine.
Oopsy I hit the send button too quickly. I hope this information helps you in your understanding of pressure canning. I also appreciate your input so much. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my videos and comment on them. Take care and God Bless.
Foods that are not acidic have to be pressure canned. So with a canner like this we can do water bath canning or pressure canning. Properly canned and stored low fat foods need no refrigeration so if the power goes out we won't have to worry about frozen foods going bad.
Hi Phil. I'm a water bath and pressure canning girl. A lot more people are getting into pressure canning now. I was lucky enough to get my Presto 23 for a bargain on a Facebook page. That is the real investment but jars can be very expensive here but there are ways round it at times. I love having food on my pantry shelves, saves freezer space, you can have melas or ready cooked food all ready in one hit, make use of sales and its a wonderful thing in general.😊
It is helpful for meat sales. You buy large amount and pressure can it. Saves money , time ,and freezer space . Also if electricity goes out , no worries .
Hi Linda, not that I’m aware of. I do normally dish wash all my jars before using them which I consider sterilizing. Heating the jars just helps with possible breakage if you are putting hot product in cool jars. Hope this helps answer your question. I do so appreciate you taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video. Blessings. ☺️
wow it looks delicious, yummy, loved watching it till the end, it shows your hard work, keep sharing such lovely dishes, ur friend here, Hope to see you around friend BIG LIKE. #WorldOfPanchPhoron
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to watch my videos and comment! I really appreciate it. Let me know if you have any recipes or hints and tricks to share! God bless!
In cleaning my Presto digital pressure canner for the first time use, the “positioning tab” on the lid, fell right off! Do you know if it is safe to can without it? I cannot find the answer anywhere! If you could help I would appreciate it!
Hi there, I’ve scoured the internet too and do not see any troubleshooting for this issue? 🥺 Maybe contact Presto via phone call or email? I’m so sorry you are having issues! Let me know what happens, I’d be so interested if it gets resolved! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video! God bless your journey!
Can you remove the completed jars and continue canning another load right away? My canner like youre just arrived Tuesday. Absolutely no experience canning anything. Can onions and garlic be added to the ground beef while its cooking and still follow this process?
Hi Susan, Yes you can do another load of jars right away. I've done it before but I do change out my water. Just be super careful, the water is really hot. As far as peppers and onions being added to the ground beef, yes you can add them. The only thing they say you can not add is anything creamy. So no cream of mushroom soup etc. I hope this helped you out. Please let me know how your first canning session goes! I'd love to hear all about it or if you have any other questions! Thank you for taking the time out of you day to watch and comment on my video. God bless!
Is it really safe to pressure can meats, chili, stews, soups, etc…. I guess what I’m asking have y’all ever got sick eating what you have pressure canned?
Hi Lee, it sure is safe as long as you are following the safety protocols per the Ball Home Preserving book. Beef, pork, chicken, venison, lamb, etc.! Isn’t that exciting! 🤩 We just love it for a quick grab and go when I don’t have time to cook or if we go overnight somewhere I bring some with for a quick lunch. You also can free up soooo much freezer space for other things which is an added bonus! Hope this helps answer your question. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment on my video! God bless!
Why are you topping it off with hot water from the stove when you just poured all that hot water down the drain? Even the product video said to do that...in case you're missing my point, why not dump the jars into the pot instead of hauling them across the kitchen??? You know your floor is wet now.

When you put regulator on, did you put on can or vent and when do you use them?

Why are my veg carrots so soft and now taste they are wonderful fresh garden carrys
No taste to them
Loved this canner but it only worked one canning season. Out of warranty.
Does that heating cycle sterilize the jars?

yes you can move right to next load with canner, by leaving the hot water in the canner, warming the jars takes less time.
