Just found your channel! I have water bathed everything I can water bath and moving on to pressure canning! I have learned so much from your channel! Thank you ! 😊
If you are raw packing you can have your jars filled and ready to go and just have room temperature water in canner then put jars in , close lid and just skip the warming jars part. As jars don't need warmed with raw pack
I watch many canning videos to see what others are doing. I loved your video, and you use a canner I have never heard of before. I wish you had gone into describing whether it has a rubber seal that needs to be replaced once in a while. Thank you for the great video and time it took to make and share it.
Thank you for watching! I’m not sure if there is a seal that will need to be replaced but I’ve used this canner a lot and I haven’t had to replace anything yet. I know there are replacement parts you buy too. I’m pretty sure! Happy canning 🥰
Excellent video. I am just beginning to use my new presto electric canner. So you put your regulator on at the very beginning? I thought you wait until ready to pressure can. Please let me know. Thank you!
@@garykelley2618 the directions say to wait! I guess I’m being a rebel by leaving it on. But while it’s on I keep it on “vent” until it’s time to put it on “can”. I read somewhere where someone else did the same thing and they never had any issues so I tried it and I’ve done it ever since!
I just pressure canned raw pack herbed potatoes in my digital presto canner on my first run. The liquid color has me concerned....kind of brownish ...did I do something wrong? They sealed....
Hmm mine haven’t done that but maybe it’s because the color of the herbs? If they sealed I would think it’s ok. Have you opened a jar and tried it yet?
I'm going to be canning potatoes today, in my electric canner. However, you didn't cook your potatoes so they are cold, right? You didn't have any problem with cold potatoes in a hot jar?
My Presto book recipe said to boil for two minutes before adding to jars. But if you don’t have to do this step, what a time saver! Do the potatoes come out soft or firm like this?
Did you mix the wide top with the regular size jars during that canning? I hope this is possible without causing a problem because I need to do that if I’m short a jar of the same size. Love your channel.
I am just happy to have found you🤗 thanks for the canning lesson!!

Adorable family and excellent content! Thank you so much for actually showing all of the steps to use the canner as well! I am now subscribed!
Thanks so much! 😊 I’m glad it was helpful!!
I learned that if it grows below the ground, it should be peeled before canning.
Just got my presto digital canner like yours. Potatoes are my next project. Thanks for the video!
You will love it!!!

Also, I love your dress! Where did you get it?? ❤❤
Awesome
Why did you put regulator to vent. Booklet says to take it off
Which Ball canning book do you use?

Correct. I did not cook the potatoes. I raw pack them! I didn’t have any issues with hot jars and room temp potatoes!
So are the potatoes cooked or raw in the jars?
I put the potatoes in the jars raw then pressure can them and they are cooked after canning
@@FavoredAcreHomestead thanks for answering that, one more question, is salt really needed? what is the purpose, nubi here lol

Gotta keep the harvest, If going to the in laws is tradition, then it's time for them to come over and help. Just saying.
We did take tons of beans to the in-laws and had help with those 🤣
Video sticks all the way through.
Thank you!
