This was wonderful. These men were singing before my mother was born, and now I'm older than they were when some of them died... and yet their music lives on through the magic of RUclips with new followers..What an oustanding family they were and in this video, I got to hear Herbert Sing lead for the very first time, what a joy! if you listen to Harry talk when he's explaining their fathers' retirement, you can see who Frank Sinatra modelled himself on...

I am 83 years old, my dad loved, and listened to the Mills brothers, he also played the harmonica,
Well enough to be on stage, He told me "Son this is real music, never leave it, it will be around forever."

6:09 - 7:46 What an absolutely beautiful scene, to see the brothers back, but this time, with dad performing, and the very talented base guitarist (that interview gig must have been impossible to pass). Thank you so much for this absolute gem, Bruno.

I love the early ones when their brother, the guitarist to the right was still alive. That was the early 30s and he died far too soon.

The hair stood up on the back of my neck when Herb stepped up to the mic to sing lead. That is the first and only time I’ve seen him step up and I’m 65. My father was a big fan and we had several of their albums so I grew up listening to these amazing men.

Gia, I dont think the Ted Mills in Cornelius was Ted Wizard Mills. That Ted Mills was a Broadway producer and died in 2003. I'm pretty sure Ted Mills of Blue Magic hailed from Philly and was born around 1952. He was performing up until 2019. 2016 he had reunited with Keith and Wendell and toured .going to Africa to perform.

The Paper Doll sequence with the doll figure dancing. Could that be Dorothy Dandridge? The time would be right for her at the age she was.

@Gia Monette' The sort of song an Uncle Herb loved to sing to their little nieces/nephews. Good for crooning. He'd be pleased to know you remember.

Gia: Somehow, in some way, I don't think Peter did. Too late to ask him, he's probably playing pol with Uncle Herb, up there as we speak. (It's Jan here, Peter's unavailable).
