As someone who lives in a desert, here are some tips to keep cool when you're working in a hot garage. Hydrate, you sweat to cool your body down, but it dehydrates the hell out of you super quick so keep yourself hydrated. I've got two insulated bottles filled with cool water whenever I'm in my garage in the summer. Open the garage door. Use whatever breeze you can to get heat out of the garage. Unfortunately in the UK sweat doesn't cool you down much, it just makes you sticky and horrible adding to the uncomfortable feeling of being hot.
Drape a wet tea towel on the intake side of a big box fan so that it pulls air through the towel cooling the air down. Fans normally don't cool you they just blow hot air off of you so you feel cool.
Hydrate
Cool your neck and hands and wrists. These are essentially your body's cooling vents because you've got a lot of blood flow closer to the skin. If you cool that down you can more efficiently cool down the rest of your body. You can do this by wrapping wet bandanas or evaporative cooling cloths around these parts of your body. For people with long hair like me, put your hair up. Having your hair down is kinda like blocking the cooling vent that is your neck.
Hydrate.
Also 31°C sounds like a delightful day in a low humidity desert like mine, but in a more humid place like the UK that sounds dreadful.
Unfortunately in the UK sweat doesn't cool you down much, it just makes you sticky and horrible adding to the uncomfortable feeling of being hot. It's too humid, even if the breeze feels cool your body struggles to maintain temperature making it feel hotter than it is.
Edit: ah I see you addressed that in a reply to yourself already

When people put you in a hurry, you can bet my ass the face is exactly like this dude right here.. 24 hours is a short ass time to work on something.. we mechanics are put on torture and some how it is fun.. poor man, i know how you feel. My soul is with you. i did a break caliper rebuild + front + rear suspension rebuild in a weekend and this dude is dying here in 24h time pinch... my soul... my heart. (thanks for reading - Imbe)
Jdm eunos roadster is such a rare find. You've got to restore it, it's more then just teenage project car
They're not rare at all? What are you talking about?
We need part 2! Get it finished, get it running!
I relate to this so much as someone with a turbo miata with a slipping clutch that I absolutely dread replacing again
Great video, I want to see this thing running again! I'm in a similar situation with my first car (Glanza V) on jackstands in need of love. 4 clutches, 1 engine and 2 turbos later and I still wont part with her! Keep up the good work lads 👌
You guys have very quickly become my favorite youtube channel! Since video 1 it's been quality 👌🏼
Seamless ad integration 💨 😊
Edwin is the mate we all need when the cars playing up!
Can we get more on the mx5 please 🙏
For all the non brits on here.....31 degrees in the uk is unbearable because of the 90% humidity involved due to the enormous amount of ground water on the island, from a British guy that hates living in Spain because its too bloody hot!
Absolutely loving the channel guys, great mix of technical and fun and can see your confidence building every video. It’s top content along with all the other guys on the channels too. Brilliant and significantly better than anything on tv nowadays. Congrats 🎉
Edwin went Superman mode with the amount of work he did, in 24hrs on negative hours of sleep and a single cup noodle, MX-5 completed or not. Great work and a fun watch as always!
This is exactly the content I wish for on an automotive channel, thank you guys
We need to see this thing running!!
I empathize, I live in southamerica and 31 °C is a scorching temperature, props for working that hard under such heat.
7:15 What a champ for running the timer during the promos 😂
Watching this from Outback Australia. Where it was legitimately 30degrees last weekend. But we're back to winter currently 6 degrees and raining here this morning.
Absolutely my favourite channel. You two are brilliant. Really hope we see a part 2 to this!
Missed merch opportunity, The TDC shirt should have the front of the miata engine at tdc printed onto it.
This videos the turning point, where you have become my favourite channel on youtube ❤
3:12 That’s not hot, I grew up on the surface of the sun!
Thanks for the awesome content guys.
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Edwin is totally my kinda guy, we would get on like a house on fire. If you see this and fancy helping me do a project on my 1995 JDM Mazda Bongo import. I'd be totally down.
Cheers for the excellent content ❤
Love this gents! Miss my mx5/eunos.
That 323 rocker cover is a beauty.
The merch plugs were sufficient.
Ordered a Tee.
That's not hot I live in Texas. I climb in an oven to cool down. Love the show thanks guys.
Next time you thinks it’s cold I can tell you it’s not. I climb in my freezer to warm up
If it's too hot, move. Don't be a typical dumb yank. Tornado Alley? Yeah, let's live there.
@@lbnewell23 ikr 😂 they had snow a few years ago and had a meltdown 😂 pun intended
I really like your format, type of content and details. Please stay like you are! Wish you all the best!
The adjustable spanners holding the cams is bloody brilliant
Just really enjoyable to watch. Funny, quick witted, interesting. You guys are nailing it! Well done!
7:15 Nice move 😉
31 degrees! im watching this in my home office in Sri Lanka with just a fan and its 35 degrees and 99.99999% humidity! yah pansey!
Thank you for putting "CarVertical" on the screen it allows me to arrow through really quickly
Honest ending... but couldn't you pull the fuel pump relay and use some starting fluid to show it runs?
What a fantastic RUclips channel this is. Just perfection.
Cant wait for Car Vertical to run out of RUclips marketing budget!
Great video guys.
Great stuff guys - once again setting the bar for car RUclipsrs
I really wish I was there to help you Ed it would give me the most joy and excitement
Having recently fitted a flywheel and clutch to my itb'd roadster, not on a lift either I felt your pain lol
Edwin's both love and hate of the MX 5 in equal measure! 🤣
was that "Wow!" a refrence to Top Ground Gear Force? 🤣
would love to see edwin completely fix the mx5 in another video, more of this please!!
Absolute top job as always fellas!looking forward to the next one
