*So seems my reply detailing how my Car Vertical report failed to pick up on my niece's recent purchase being 'stolen and recovered' was removed. How come? You know i find it ironic and amusing that car vertical is a company dedicated to making a product to stop people from buying dodgy cars but then spend a good deal of their profits sponsoring people to buy dodgy cars. I really appreciate them for enabling all this stupidity.
You didn’t need to take the head off. You can access the manifold by sticking your hand up the exhaust, through cylinder 3 and out the oil filler hole. Easy.
I did one of these last week exactly like that, main thing to remember is to check that cylinder 3 has piston fully down so you've got space to get your knuckles round, otherwise you're going to graze yourself a bit.
Just an idea that could help with filming; you could use those cheap security camera/live stream IP cameras as a a way to record time lapses or additional b-roll for you guys to do voiceovers later on. A lot of those cameras have a pretty wide FOV as well so you don't have to be too precise with framing of things to capture what you guys are working on. This could help take the strain off worrying about recording footage espeically when a project gets out of hand at times. Hope this helps in any way. Keep up the fantastic comment. It's been such a joy to see all of you guys work together and your personalities shine since you guys started the channel.
Yeah I agree. Would’ve been nice to see a little more of the build even if it was time lapse with a tiny update every now and then. By reading the comment everyone is enjoying the content. I reckon even if it was another 15 mins long people still would’ve watched.
yeah I'll resub if I don't see betterhelp or other unethical scam advertisers. I guess the boys picked up on the feedback in the comments section but youtubers can get blind when it comes to money. they pay really well but that's blood money. it was a bad call for the guys to pick betterhelp up with ZERO apparent vetting, so while I keep watching it'll take at least 5 more videos with ETHICAL advertisers. even though VPN's are kind of bullshit I can stomach nordvpn or whatever. at least you get /something/ for your money there
Completely see why people like Josh (Jooshy) and the other mechanics are such a value to this channel. When Edwin had lost heart in this car they continued to make the problems go away. Looking forward to next week and hope the little s3 makes it.
As someone who has worked on these cars. It is absolutely key you put all the heat shields back if you didn't. The heat from your new components can burn through components involved in the brake booster as well as cause fires in the engine bay (ask me how i know)
You did it all wrong! The correct method is to sell it to Taylor, wait for him to do all the repairs and upgrades, then, when he can’t stand the sight of it buy it back cheap! Simples.
Way better than AutoAlex. Authentic, real, sympathic, involved, determined. And you keep doing progress in every project instead of starting a new one every week.
love how everyone under the Autoalex umbrella chip in from time to time in each others series's but still remain independent and customised to what viewers want to see 👍👌
This is what we want. We want to see what it’s actually like doing the things you are. We want to see when it goes wrong, there’s such a better feeling watching and seeing you overcome issues rather than getting a bunch of mods and then off to the dyno as if the mekanik-fairy did all the work for you. It’s authentic and entertaining. So much so, I also now hate S4s (I did anyway, but you get the point). Top video chaps. Never change!
Depends lmao. Had a mk1 TT with the BAM 225, exactly the same car underneath as that S3, and it was a total pig to work on, but i also had a mk4 Polo GTi, also a 1.8T but the less powerful BJX, and that wasn't too bad to work on... Once all the unnecessary crap was removed from the engine and engine bay that is. It also helped not being overly compacted and complicated in a way that only Audi likes to do, and obviously no Quattro getting in the way of anything. Lol.
I got a mk1 TT and yes. That 1.8t engine is a nightmare to work on. Just fitting a new turbo cause the old one blow was a nightmare getting it out en new one in
11:33 Edwin, you didn't need to remove the head to take the manifold off. You could have just summoned the power of a yet undiscovered deity to access it.
