I’ll release the full class uncut soon, along with a doc with the lesson plan if you wanna do this class yourself! Update: video coming soon, but here's the doc! mailchi.mp/93fec4b6488a/wyi6h61ihn
Good work out there! Thank you for going out there and taking the risk of shame and embarrassment in the name of experimentation! You and Kabir are awesome!
From a jiujitsu point of view, I’m really enjoying the content and the dive into CLA. From a RUclipsr’s pov, amazing job on building tension and structuring the story, opening and closing loops and keeping people engaged
New subscriber here. Thanks for sharing your journey into ecological dynamics/cla. It's really cool seeing someone else's journey into this coaching approach as I am just starting out myself in applying this methodology to a completely different sport in basketball. Looking forward to more videos man keep it up :)
hey! thanks for subscribing and watching. super cool you're enjoying the videos, especially since you're doing this in a completely different sport. actually, would love to chat a bit to see where you're at in the journey if you don't mind emailing me? applying it to different sports has been a topic i'm interested in. (email is in my youtube profile) no worries either way, and thanks again!
My man how I feel you. I'm a 2 striple blue belt and I just coached my first class about 2 weeks ago. I 've been lucky for being the technique dummy so I had some exposure to what teaching a class was, but man I felt just as nervous as you. Good work!! Edit: I love how you were clinging onto your timer the first part of the class but you didin't do it anymore near the end, I did the same thing lol
Awesome video! Keep them coming ❤ As a coach, I’d love to hear more from Kabir giving you advice during that dinner. Will you have that interview out? Or part of another video?
Thanks Denney for being part of it! Yeah the sushi interview is available for channel members who click the Join button up top, or on my Patreon (link in description).
This was an interesting watch. Thanks for uploading. I could clearly see some of the nerves and I can resonate with some of your emotions in this video. I got my purple belt last year and have been teaching a 'fundamentals' class once a week at Gracie Barra Huddersfield (UK) for about a year now. I was a bit apprehensive about teaching at first but I've learnt so much and through discussing with my coach (Professor Jamie Paxman) we've moved away from the traditional teaching style and have gone for a more of a mixed system of teaching formal techniques with lots of specific training for more 'adult' style learning. The more you teach under a good coach the better you'll become and it'll ultimately improve your own game.
Fantastic. Everyone should at least try running a class as another step on their martial arts journey. Learning to be a teacher is extremely humbling and challenges what you know while exposing what you don't know. Check out Erik Paulson's videos. The way he teaches and explains concepts is so so so effective and easy to listen to.

definitely, and thanks for watching!
i'll check it out, thanks for the rec!
Fun video, great progress
Thanks! glad you enjoyed it
Being a Blue Belt in bjj RUclipsR is much more relatable to an average bjj practitioner, compared to a brown-black belt bjj competing in UFC or ADCC.
Appreciate that! Good point, and I'm glad you think so!
nice video
glad you liked it! thanks for watching
100% coaching is its own skillset that can be developed. It can be developed before blackbelt as long as the developing coach knows their limitations
that's what i'm hoping! thanks for watching
I thought you just got your purple
He did! it was filmed before
Yup! Watch til the end.
Cool concept for a video but the tagline to start the class bruh
What about it
Why is blue belt teaching
did you watch the video?
@@joshbeambjj i should
Every blue belt I've met thinks they are a coach.
How do you feel about that?
@@joshbeambjj some are quite good but can be annoying especially if higher belts are there.
How do you feel about it ?
I agree with that sentence completely actually lol
