@astrosherlock374 one of the guys I train with is a Judoka. Been doing it for over 40 years. His grip strength is next level. Once he has your lapel, you aren't getting it back. He's not bad on the ground either. His knee bars come from nowhere. 😂😂😂😂
i was on the edge of my seat for the entire match... i feared Kade was gonna get swept with all the grips that Chueng had but instead he put on a show. Great competitor, always a pleasure to watch!
It's easy to judge from the couch, but against a guy like Ruotolo, Nathan should have sensed something was up after that head move and let go the right hand.

...and then never passes the guard. Kade literally spazzed his way into a takedown and then flailed uselessly against a guard he had no answer to. Just like CJI finals.
Him and mica are ones I’ve been keeping an eye on. Finally new movements and ideas in a world that’s feels stale As hell. He’s American which makes me root for him more and his fluidity and modern style movement makes a fan of the sport big time.

As a judoka, it’s weird to see them not get stood up and asked to neaten up their gi’s but honestly I’m conflicted. On one hand they should be stood up and asked to do their belt and such as it would make things more fair from a gi stand point; they have the same gi setup. On the other hand I kinda like the idea of not having them stood up to fix their gi’s as this would ruin the flow of the fight and some people might intentionally pull their gi out to get out of a bad situation maybe. Lotta things to consider and a fantastic fight nonetheless. Never really liked ground work before I watched this but honestly I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and, even though I’m terrible on the ground, I was still able to appreciate the intricacies of what each player was trying to do. Fantastic work, can’t wait to see where the IBJJF goes in years to come.

The gi changes everything. It really slows down your game. Kade still did an amazing job and Chueng’s guard retention is fantastic.
I feel that’s why no gi has gained so much popularity. All the wrestlers and gi haters love the fluidity and spazzed out movement of no gi
