Rigidblizzard Darth Vader was loved as a villain but not as a person. Death Vader was a villain who struck down any person that stood in his path including children. It was only anakin that drew out the good from Vader. Loki has this tug of war with good and evil within him
Rewatching this scene... I realized that Thor didn't 'see through' Loki's illusions. He just knew how much Loki loved their mom and there's no way that Loki would just 'stay indifferent' after knowing about their mom's death.

I don't know if it's playing more than wanting to look dignified. He's not exactly at his best. I'm honestly surprised that he removes the illusion. He does look exhausted, though.

His mother is probably the only one he ever truly loved in the entire universe (other than Thor). Shes definitely the only one he ever let in. The only one he showed his vulnerable side to and let his guard down for. She’s his everything.

The fact she teach him some cool magic tricks like the fireworks. I could see if Loki were good earlier and was treated equally earlier, he would've maybe if he saw bunch of kids in Asgardian or a kid that is lonely sitting alone. He would show that firework magic trick to that kid just like how his mother did.

@@The-Deadite Everyone but their mother favored Thor over Loki, he then felt betrayed by Odin and the others because they never told him who he was and he was raised in a society and family who hated and treated his kind as vile monsters that need killed. So he grew up hating frost giants and he turns out to be one, and the family he knew were not his family, Loki whole life was turned upside down and he no longer knew who he was. Finds put his father wanted to use the Prince of the frost giants to unite the two realms which made Loki feel like Odin never loved him and only saw him as a tool. When Loki wanted to take the throne as king, like his father Odin told him his whole life was his birth right, Odin went right around and told him his birth right was to die. Loki kills some people when trying to take over earth and gets locked away for life, while Thor went and killed many many frost giants unprovoked and gets made mortal and tested to get his worthiness back.
So.... yah makes perfect sense why Loki turned out the way he did. But miraculously in despite of all that Loki was never actually a bad guy, he was forced by the TVA to be the way he was and do what he did and if he did anything diffrent he'd get killed for it. Some director commentary stuff talks about the mind stone inside the spear that thanks gave Loki was effecting his mind and emotions as well, which amplified all the feelings of betrayal, anger, and hate he felt towards his family.
After the scene in Loki series, this hits different...

Loki doesn't plan. As the god of mischief, he just performs. Thats his legacy. Once he realizes it only causes him grief, he spares lives and helps his enemies. It's still selfish but he tries to make things right.

Two things that are quite sad 😔
1. He blames himself for her death because he told some monster thing “stairs to your left” and without knowing the details he thought that hes the reason shes gone
2. His last words to her were “you’re not my mother”
He actually was telling kurse how to get out of the dungeons or where to find the machine that kept up the shield around the palace. Kurse goes that way first and then goes to find Malekith, who has followed the Aether' trail to Jane, who was guarded by Frigga. It is kinda Loki's fault Malekith and Kurse found Jane and Frigga because he told Kurse how to get out of the dungeons and reach the shield, but he didn't tell him how to reach Frigga's quarters.

@@beaq6755 Yeah but I don't think Loki was planning it to go that far, he probably was hoping that it would just drive Thor and Odin crazy. He wasn't planning for Malekith and Kurse to find Jane and Frigga sacrfising herself to defend her. It was just bad luck and not to mention the boomerang affect that happend. Since Loki threw this spiteful revenge plot at Odin and Thor and then it later hit him back big time.

Yeah, I kind of wish there were more moments like this and the snake scene and 'Get Help' where it shows them truly as siblings. They've known eachother for years, they know eachother very well and adopted or not, they're still brothers.

it's so obvious that Tom Hiddleston hard carried this movie, especially in this scene. one of the reasons why I come back and rewatch is that Loki slowly becomes my favorite character

I love how they kinda hate each other but they’re still brothers and Thor could just tell that Loki was putting up a façade
They don't hate each other (if they did, then why would Loki risk and even sacrifice his life to save Thor from Thanos in Infinity War?), they love each other. Loki simply feels like Odin overlooks him and favors Thor more than him, so Loki feels bitter and neglected (this actually gives Loki quite a bit of a parallel to the Fate Apocrypha version of Mordred, where all Mordred ever wanted was the love and acknowledgement of Arthur but Mordred could never earn either), which combined with his inferiority complex makes Loki emotionally unstable. Just look at the end of Ragnarok, Thor and Loki finally reconciled (and I'm fully convinced that had they not run afoul of Thanos, or had Loki survived, that Loki wouldn't have needed much convincing from Thor to make up for his past crimes on Earth by helping the Avengers and becoming their ally, particularly in the fight against Thanos. Since with Asgard gone, there was nothing left for Loki to covet and he was free to just be himself and be the loving, if mischievous, brother that Thor had missed so dearly for so long).
With Frigga's death, both Thor and Loki are emotionally unstable, so they could be more prone to doing things that they otherwise wouldn't (like Thor outright disobeying Odin), but even so I highly doubt wither of them would have actually had it in them to kill the other, particularly as they both dearly wanted to avenge Frigga's death.

The best Thor for me is the one from Infinity War,who was badass and serious,but was funny and kind at the right times. The Thor from this video is too much serious and a bit strange,but even better than the actual Thor, from Love and Thunder.

The first friend was supposed to watch it last Saturday, but because of a family reason, it was pushes to Wednesday, then it was pushed again. The second friend wants to see it, but her dad is so strict about their religion that he won't let her, so she has to wait until the summer when she is with her mom to see it. The third friend has long work hours, so he has to wait to schedule it. The fourth friend can't drive because she is considered legally blind, so she either has to wait for her parents to watch it, or for it to come out on disc. The fifth friend was planning on seeing it either today or tomorrow. My point is that you have no right to label who is truly a fan or not based on whether they've seen the movie yet or not. There are various variables that can interfere with seeing the movie, and sometimes you just can't change them. I'm sure I know many others who haven't seen it yet, and I'm sure there are plenty of people everywhere that haven't seen it yet.

I actually was thinking about that too, it was a bit unfair that Thor gets to meet his mom without Loki. I'm not saying that Thor didn't deserve it because he actually does after half or most of the Asgard people died AND Loki died. Also half of the people in the world including some who fought with him to defeat Thanos got wiped out! And then he started eating more and playing fortnite. He really deserved the motivation from his mom.
But Loki, he never get a chance to apologize to her for what he said and hugged her and talk to her one last time before she dies. But I don't think that will happen.
Because if he does go back there, he would see Thor and his mother talking and he can't talk at all because it will messed up the timeline and the branch will go off from the TVA. Because I don't think Loki meeting his mother again is supposed to happen :(

In the scene, You can see how broken he is. The one person who cared for him and loved him as he loved them, died. At the hands of a ‘monster’. Loki, in his eyes, has truly lost everything. When Thor mentions how Frigga believed in Loki, you can see the longing in Loki’s eyes.
The worst part is, he probably feels responsible due to offering that mischievous tip to the invaders passing his cell.

@@Senfree i just finished this film (going thru mcu films in release order rn) and i agree. he gets subtly teary eyed in some parts. in the avengers end part, He sheds a tear when thor was convincing him to team up with them, and if u look closely the last time he talked to frigga he was close to crying, his eyes were fluttering rapidly as if trying to hold back tears.
(Btw im a first timer so idk what happens on the later movies yet pls try not to spoil xdd)

I hate seeing Loki so broken. The only person who understood him is gone. But I LOVE how Thor knows its an illusion. They are brothers and he knows that he is in pain. I love their entire relationship
and whats worse is when loki was fully granted his change for the better he get killed (good thing he left us with a freaking amazing comeback at thanos!) really happy with the new loki we got in the loki series but it's still not the same my love for the new loki is about the character and not so much about the journey of the character as to the original loki

This movie may have not been so great overall, but you gotta admit, the character writing was great (especially for Loki) and certain scenes were some of the best in the mcu.

I don't get what people's problem with this movie is. Sure, it wasn't flawless. Jane and Thor's romance got too much of the focus for my liking and they wrote Loki out too early, but I found the dark elves and the ether and the convergence and everything really interesting and I loved the overall tone. In many ways it's my favourite Thor movie (and since I've never seen a Marvel movie I liked better than any of the Thor movies, that would also place it above any other Marvel movie. It's easily better than the Avengers in my book).

Watching this clip after Loki season 2,all I can say is He's bound for Glorious Purpose...best character ever
I like how Thor knew Loki was putting up his act and his illusion. Also have you seen the room he's in after he puts his illusion down like theres handprints on the wall, he's broken a chair and a mirror, he's torn his clothes, theres literally blood on his foot. Like Jesus Loki had a full on mental breakdown.

@@stevenjones4059 I guess the word "literally" means something different to you than it does to me. What Thor said was that he "thought the world of" Loki. That's quite a way away from "You're my favourite person of all time". It's also worth noting that he put it in the past tense, clearly referring to a time before Loki took their sibling rivalry beyond anything that might be mistaken for friendly competition. His most glowing remarks in regard to his current feelings about Loki were "Maybe there's still good in you," and "Maybe you're not so bad after all". Loki's all the family Thor has left and he has a unique place in Thor's heart, but that doesn't mean he _likes_ him more than all his friends who haven't tried to kill him.
On Loki's side I'll agree that his relationship with Thor is the most positive one he's got left. As good as he is at striking up superficial "friendships" with the likes of the Grand Master, I don't get the impression he's good at forming deep meaningful connections to people. By the end of Ragnarok he's finally started to realise that he needs that and that he doesn't actually want Thor out of his life. But _favourite_ person is still a stretch - more like only living person he shares genuine affection with.
at 1:00 it feels like he was just about to break down again when he realises he's still in front of Thor, so he puts up the devilish mask he hides behind. Oof my heart

I like that they put Loki’s hair to be relaxed (not slicked back, but it still looks good), it gives that he’s not his normal self, he’s grieving and he doesn’t care atm. I like it.

As heartwarming as it was to see thor talk to frigga in endgame, Loki I think needs it too. He has clearly got some awful depression that his people arent respecting enough, now he just needs someone to open up to, as hard as it may be, he needs someone to tell someone how much pain hes in, it hurt so much when frigga died because she was the only person who would just maybe understand.....
Maybe there would be an scene like that in his series

It's truly a moment of sibling love. Loki put on that illusion to protect himself mentally but when Thor called him out and made him drop the illusion, Thor didn't tease him or give him grief about it either. He knew it wasn't the time. Instead he moved closer to Loki's side of the cell and continued the conversation like Loki didn't just bare all his guilt for him to see and judge.

As much as I love the changes that Taika Waititi did with Thor, I just wish he had kept somewhat of the old English grammatical styles that comes with being “Shakespeare in the park”. That was part of the allure of Asgard and the gods; that they were eloquent and intelligent. Finding a perfect between that and comical Thor sounds like a challenge, but if they pulled it off, he’d be the best he’s ever been in the MCU.
Right! I loved the language. They almost made him a little goofy. But I admit I like it, Thor funny is more entertaining than Thor serious and Shakesperean, however, I loved hearing that vernacular.

No. How could Thor be talking to his Mom if she was already killed? This scene clearly happened AFTER his mother was killed, so Endgame's Thor would not be talking to his mother while this scene in this video took place. Endgame's Thor talks with his mother BEFORE she was killed by the dark elf.

Damn this scene... Loki not only loses his mother but also any trust and love his brother once held for him
Finally, someone! Everyone sees this scene as example of brother love etc., but I see it as the moment Loki lost everything and everyone, gave up it all, absolutely, every bit.
Even now this one scene gave an infinite amount of depth to Loki that any amount of exposition couldn’t even have touched. Putting on airs like he didn’t care, and when Thor sees through it, you see a man beholden with immeasurable grief for the one person he truly cared about more than himself. He didn’t even try and hide it seriously, he let down his illusion the moment it was met with challenge. Loki is a well of sadness in this scene, and he’s so torn up he can’t even really pretend like it hasn’t split his soul.
